I finally had time to look through this whole thread! So many gorgeous rings! This was a great idea, @Catmom! Blue sapphire is my favorite colored gemstone, my birthstone and blue is my favorite color! I like sapphires in many colors, though!
I think I got my first "real" ring when I was maybe 10 or 12. It was yellow gold and had a floral head with a little blue sapphire in the middle! I think one of my daughters has it now. The next one was my 18th birthday present which I have but don't wear. Then I got a Princess Diana dark blue oval sapphire with diamond halo for around our 7th anniversary. My younger daughter loved that ring and now has it.
The pieces I currently have and potentially might wear occasionally are a Beaudry platinum setting with a small, round, Richard Homer concave cut sapphire, and a violet-blue emerald cut sapphire set in platinum by Caysie van Bebber. I'll also add my sapphire halo studs by Victor Canera. They are beautiful, but my only regret is that I didn't get larger sapphires for earrings.
I may get a really nice royal blue sapphire eventually (or a pair to make a three stone with a diamond center). My problem is I collect more than I wear!
I'll play along. Mine is 4.88 ct 9.97x8.92x7.30 cut by Gene Flanigan. First I had it set in a 14k white gold setting with side traps. After a couple of years and a couple of small chips, I had CvB reset it. It's pretty, but I've never been completely happy with it. I envisioned bigger, more sparkly diamonds in the halo. It has been sized down and had sizing beads added to keep it from rolling on my finger.
Oooooo, deets please!
@Catmom, a French cut blue sapphire eternity would look so amazing with your diamond ring. Also wow, your ring is stunning!
Where did you get these bands??? WHERE???? lol
Instagram of all places! Such lovely pieces to be found there. But man, I've never spent so much $ so fast on jewelry before :-/
Anyways, the VC band was from vanessaatheritagejewelry. The eternity band is from leslielsc.
Fun thread! I’ll play! I have only one sapphire ring and she’s a color shifter, purple indoors or blue under natural light.
Took some photos this morning with the ring in my breakfast bowl of blueberries. It’s hard to get a good focus on the sapphire due to its rutile silk inclusions which gives the stone its sleepy look/fuzziness in photos:

My blue sapphires.
Cushion cut is a colour shift purple-blue.
Star sapphire is kind of grey-blue.
And as you can see, I love halo rings
