Show me your cabochon pieces!

+1. Look at how that paraiba can glows!

Hi. Here is my first cabochon emerald: 15 carat muzo colombian emerald, AGL certified, minor treatment. It is a very positive stone and has a calming effect on me :-)

oh my! I have loved this ring for awhile now. If I could have one ring and only one ring, it'd be this one. (well, outside my engagement/wedding ring).

*drool*

One a side note: I only have one cab. It is a ruby (?) one that belonged to my Mom. I'll try to post it later.

Rfisher - thank you for bumping this to show your beautiful pieces. I have been into cabs lately and looking for inspirations on how to set. I hope to someday have a wonderful collection like yours (and others).

I love cabochons and actually have quite a few. I love the softness and the glow of rounded gems. The following are moonstones, jade, star sapphires and turquoise and opals, ( though I cannot capture those well in pictures st all.) I also tend to love rounded jade bangles, beads and bracelets with many small cabochons set in them.

Thank you chatoyancy, lilmosun, pwsg07 and Bluegemz
The marquise pendant and round are tourmalines form Paraiba International. The pendant was set by PI, and the ring was set by The Gemstone Project /DKJ.
The oval scarab is a carnelian from Heart of Water jewels - a little version of mochiko42's ring that I love so much. (Ooh boy- I hope you don't care?!?)
The organgy red spinel from OTL, set locally.
The emerald heart is from arkieb1, but originally from ACS, set by DKJ.
The other pendant is chrysoprase from Ryan Quantz, set locally.
The cushion is an aquaprase ring I was fortunate enough to get from Sparkliesluver.

I love your additions to this thread, Bluegemz. And Lilmosun I can't wait to see what you come up with yours.

The star has tiny, clear sapphire crystals which grew within the sapphire! I’m going onto pull the star from its setting and combine the two in a shooting star, bypass ring with a few shaggy, bezel set diamonds around the sapphire in white metal.

@Bluegemz May I ask where your black metal necklace comes from ?

Valeria, the necklace came from a local blacksmith artist. She made a line of cuffs and necklaces with iron, high karat gold and gemstones. Mine has diamond rivets in it. Unfortunately, the gallery who represents her told me that she’s not doing these anymore. I don’t remember her name, but I can find out if you would like. Maybe she’s online somewhere.

I am not sure I will get one, so no need to dig. Was curious about the metal - 'iron' is still a substance that needs confirmation ... Great piece !

Thank you! Yes it’s got a very ancient feel to it because if the roughness of the metal.

That one with the carved image of a horse (or unicorn). Wow! Tell me more!

That lavender cab in the first picture. **drool!**

EDF8E446-CBD9-4D76-B33D-594C943DCB83.jpeg Thank you so much txgreeneyes! The horse is carved on the underside of an aqua .it is reminiscent of the horse and star on an Ancient Greek coin.
Here’s a close up! The lavender cab is an untreated jadeite cab that I’d been wanting for some time.

Lovely collection of colorful candy cabs, @Rfisher!! Your photo of the carnelian scarab reminds me I should wear mine, it's been too long since I've worn it. How wonderful we are 'ring twins'!! :) Actually I bought the ring ready made from Sally, she has it in her stock inventory so it wasn't a custom piece or anything. :wavey:

I don't know how I missed this thread!

I have a cabochon on the way, not set yet.

It is a "gel grade" chrysophrase cabochon from ColoradoGemworks on Etsy. 5.5 carats, 15.35mm x 9.46mm x 5.2mm, $165.
