Show me your Christmas pearl purchases 2020

I just picked up my new detachable Tahitian pearl “drops”. I had them made locally for my existing emerald cut diamond studs. I drew a picture of the mechanism I wanted and the goldsmith carried it out. Really happy with the result ☺️

Oh, you did a fantastic job. Really appreciate your imagination and the final result.

Thank you! I’m really enjoying them. I bought the pearls earlier and I was a bit unsure how to set them. I have enormous earlobes so the proportions were important to get right.

Those look great ! Haha I contest I have larger earlobes. So large in fact that I’ve never been brave enough to pierce them haba

Agreed! I really like the wrinkly surfaces and uneven shapes, and the swirly, shifting colors (what's the technical term for that?) are very nice in certain lighting.

I have some ripples similar to yours & I too love the shifting colours in different lighting. They are so organic & beautiful & make a change to wear from the round pearls

Beautiful high end pearls ladies. :appl:

These are not high end- but a Christmas treat for myself. A double strand and 8 foot rope of 8mm rice pearls and a white Edison strand 10-13mm. I kind of fall in and out of love with pearls.

They are pretty pearls.I always think that rice pearls have such a lovely luster & overtones

Emerald cut diamonds, bezels, milgrain AND Tahitians! Your beautiful earrings have it all.

I love these. Absolutely versatile!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh
To die for :appl: :kiss2::appl::kiss2::appl::kiss2::appl:

Thanks! They’re hoping to ship my goodies out on Monday so there’s a teeny tiny chance I’d get them by Christmas. But not biggie if not.

I’m thinking of restringing and combining my GSS into my choker so I can complete the pattern all around (I ordered 4 more 8-8.5mm gemmy akoya) and wear all the goodness in one necklace! The current one is finished with some 5mm freshwaters and is also a bit too short since I’d like it to be more around 16” since I’ll likely wear the new teeny akoyas as a choker. And layering them seems like it’d be fun. But we will see once they come in person!

Here are the 4 single akoya I added to my order to complete my necklace

@MMtwo, your new GSS studs are just divine, the gold sheen is just so thick & rich, glad you declined the first pair & got them instead, definitely worth the price difference

I do have a pair of 11.2mm which was also a Xmas gift from DH few years ago =)2ECB85991-1BC2-4CD0-8F29-B8773133483B.jpeg

Oh my goodness, those are wonderful. What a pretty gold color. Do you wear them often? What do you think of that back style to help keep them up?

@MMtwo, thanks for your kind words  I thought yours look better, lol? Yes, they are so versatile, can be worn casually with t-shirt, jeans or shorts, can match with my little black dress for any fancier occasion too. Such plain pearl studs r classic & a must have for a girl’s wardrobe IMO.

I have rather thin & small lobes hence the backings are really good in lifting & supporting the weight of pearls. Highly recommended . Let me try an earshot to show how well they sit on my lobes.....04E33295-B904-49AB-9A6B-71A4FEAB5A9E.jpeg

@seaurchin, I felt much less guilty of having my few strands of pear necklaces after seeing your amazing collection :D:Dover at other thread “show me your pearls”

Thank you so much for the picture. I think it will be helpful for future pearl buyers too. Before I bought these studs I scoured the internet for GSS studs being worn. Almost impossible to find pictures.

Your pearls look great on you. The size is lovely and they sit very well. They have a nice deep gold color too. It's good to hear you find them very versatile. I'll wear mine today with a yellow t-shirt.

PS: I think yours are as nice as mine, and bigger ;)

Perfect fit !

Gold pearls go with gold chains. Posting this for future gold south sea GSS stud earring searchers. Still playing with them!

The chain really compliments them but i bet they will a be very versatile part of your jewlwey arsenal

My pearls are in the mail now. Crossing all fingers and toes and taking all dust donations for their safe arrival! I should have just asked them to mail it direct to the store for pick up but I was over excited haha. Ugh gonna be worrying until they get here! Which with the holidays probably won’t be until the weekend

From Pearl Paradise's sale I bought a silver white baroque Tahitian strand. They are 8.5 to 9.7 mm. I'm really pleased with the luster. They are more white than I expected. I have several silver strands so I don't feel like I've duplicated anything.

So great - you can dress them up and down. I think the luster is beautiful!

My Hanadama studs are still in the mail! They’ve taken 13 days to get from Heathrow airport in London to the customs sorting area of the Royal Mail, aaaargh! They won’t be here for Xmas, that’s for sure. ;(

Just wondering if they have sent you a letter for the amount of import charges that you would need to pay before the package can be released for delivery.

If you have the tracking number, perhaps you could check on their website and pay the charges ahead of the letter.

Mind you, looking at the date, you may struggle to have them delivered tomorrow!

DK :))

Not yet, sadly, which means it will be at least next Tuesday! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting miracles but that will be 24 days plus to get here from the US.

Hmmm, that's unusually long, that's a shame.
