Dreamer - I'm like a bad penny that will not go away................. do you ever wear that sapphire? I'm assuming you still have it, right? I LOVED it when you had it in the 3-stone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stil have it and don't wear it at all. It is sentimental for me because DH designed and picked it out himself. But the mount is very bulky and it just doesn't "work" for me.

I also really loved that three stone! I suppose in a world of unlimited money --maybe if I was not so mental -- I would have kept it. But the mount was very bulky (poor B&M bench) and in real life, the sapphire is smaller and less sparkly than I like for gems. It was aring I always looked at and thought, 'What can I change so that it is perfect?" and for me, that is a sign its not a keeper (then again, I have only had one ring I DON'T think that about! My current set). I keep thinking I should reset it into *something* I will wear, but then I never do.

Your ring is very cool too! Do you wear it still?

less than $2.5k from summer 2011

Both purchased prior to being PS trained, and Rocky Talky guided.

My ring is very recent as are all of the rings in this so far except Rosebloom & Dreamer. This is from memory, I didn't look up each thread but here are the dates/months that the rings were purchased for each of us.

Woofmama: (me) Diamond purchased from JA August of 2012 & set in October 2012.
Nielseel: Diamond purchased from Whiteflash I think in early fall & set in November 2012.
Webdiva: Diamond purchased from GOG early 2012 & set in May 2012.
lovebug: Just engaged I believe.
Rissalou: Just received her ring last month.

I know I shopped obsessively for my stone for a year while quietly lurking here. When I found it, I requested an ASET immediately, did a thread for advice & bought it. Yea this will probably have to be revised or restarted each year but the op said new ( or appraisal value).....
But yeah they seem about all the same as you could do today the

My sapphire engagement ring was under $3k eleven years (and Pre-Pricescope) ago. It would still cost under $5k to make today.

I'm loving the blue of the sapphire combined with your AVC band

For reference, my stone was purchased at the end of March 2012, during GOG's spring sale. After drooling over Princess of Hearts for almost a year, one dropped into my budget range!

The amazing thing about this thread is that all the rings are so beautiful AND so different! Proof that anyone can find something they like within budget!

I also considered colored stones and many different styles while considering style and budget and saw so many great combos! I love helping the couples on a budget on Rocky Talk, since they would be extremely limited at the maul stores!

If you followed my saga at all you would
know it is a replacement ERing as my original
purchased in 1978 for a whopping $1600.00 was stolen a few years ago.
That was a 1.17 SI1 H also a pear.
I turned down a nearly 3 ct OMC back then for the pear!
Kinda regret that one! But I love my ring .

I am seriously amazed at all these rings for under 5K! And all these pears! Oh joy! Mad skills here! Seriously- a Ritani ring with a pear for under 5K and over 1ct pears for under 5K. I hope to have something pear one day down the line.
