I don't have an engagement ring per se... in my culture we don't wear them. But as I live in the US, I wear this ring as an ER...

I got my pear in May of 2011. My diamond was bought from Good Old Gold. I just happened to be trolling the site and stumbled across my pear at a price that was unbelievable. I immediately showed DH and I put it on hold. I talked to Jonathon about my pear and was told there was a chip on the girdle or one of the facets I can't remember. Anyway he told me the price listed for the pear on their website was wrong but he would honor it and that the chip could be polished out for what their cost would be.

Hey Woofmama! I see- a mini GTG!

The mini tango festival is also April 18-21 so there is a chance! We also have a trip lined up to NY so hubs can go to his eye specialist that needs to get worked in somewhere soon.

Oh tango....you know...I could go in to a LONG description. I dance (and occasionally teach) Argentine tango, and as one would expect, it's not quite like one sees on DWTS. That's kind of Hollywood's fantasy idea of tango and stage tango. I dance social close embrace tango, which isn't nearly so showy; more concentrated on intricate footwork and ability to use very crowded spaces well.

The diamonds are 20 pters so a little less then 4mm wide. I have a plat Tiffany Elsa Peretti that I bought off the bistro for a killer price. I was going to use it as my wedding band but it is only 2.6mm. It looks fine but I think I'll go try on something closer to 3mm or 3.5mm so there is a better balance. My problem is I don't have room on my squatty fingers, not like some of the ladies here that can really stack. I just ordered a couple 2mm 18k yg bands from Blue Nile to wear on either side to give me a different look. I received a couple of coupons at my 2 emails one was for $100 off and the other $50 off so both bands will be $250 total. I've also tried on thin channel set bands on either side and loved the look.

Mine was bought on DB from a seller called pinkbow for 4500.00 back in 2010. It was appraised by WF appraiser (can't recall his name but he's in the same building as them when I lived in Houston) and he said it was a near ideal 1.64 H VVS1 RB in a 1930's setting 14K WG with 4 single cut diamonds (can't remember the tcw).

Yay!! I'm dying to see your ring in person too! And maybe we'll luck out and Haven will come and we can try on her masterpiece. I'll start a thread in hang out soon so we can do some planning.

Here's mine. The ering is a 5.7mm K VS1 OEC with baguette and single cut side stones from Lang Antiques, which came in at $3200. I had it re-shanked in platinum, which was an additional $700, so the total in the end was $3900.

The wband is 3/4 eternity, alternating rounds and baguettes in platinum and was $1200, so the grand total for both was $5100. If I had gone half eternity rather than 3/4, or white gold rather than plat for both rings, I'm sure the whole set would have comfortably squeezed in under the $5k mark.
