I have an Indicolite & diamond two-stone ring (I got the rough from the now-defunct Rough2Refined and Jerry Newman did the opposed bar cut), two green tourmaline rings set in argentium silver (tourmalines precision-cut by Dana Reynolds), and a loose rectangle Pink Tourmaline (Himalaya Mine, San Diego County) precision-cut by Jerry Newman waiting to be set -- I also have a 9mm round bubblegum pink Tourmaline white gold solitaire ring that for whatever reason I seldom wear even though it is a lovely color and shape -- I do love Tourmalines, they come in such wide range of colors and shapes and generally speaking more affordable than other colored gemstones.
What color/cut of Tourmaline are you thinking of commissioning? Is it through Jeff White or another cutter? Curious minds ...
I’d love to see your tourmalines and hear what you love or dislike about the gemstone.
I have not kept a list, however, I have at least the following:
- The following from Jeff W:
* A 9mm Rubellite
* A rectangular green one in emerald cut (unset)
*An oval green one (unset)
* He is going to cut another green one for me
- A small green radiant from Gene
- A green sugar loaf from Gary (unset)

They come in all colors and are generally affordable. And they can be so big!
I have a few rubellites, pink, indicolites, yellows/canary, green, orange, purple…
And they look great in the sun and I live in a tropical country with lots of sun. Honestly I may not enjoy tourmalines as much if it isn’t so sunny.
the big green and pink and the pair of pears in this pic
Your list makes me so happy because I was just thinking that I should probably start branching out from my yellow addiction. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one favoring one color!
What I love: glowy open green or green blue color. I like rubellite that stay hot pinkish red in all lighting. This makes up for the lower RII see so many tourmalines on here. They seem to be very popular. I’m highly considering commissioning one but I’m on the fence because of the moderate durability and the lower refractive index. I’d love to see your tourmalines and hear what you love or dislike about the gemstone.
i work a desk job and rotate my rings regularly so I am not concerned about the hardness - and you get a quality color, the RI is never really a concern of mine.
These are my two, they are some of the best saturation in my whole collection. Neither cost me over 1000 either which is ANOTHER thing I like about them
Beautiful! I’m obsessed with your new one! Can I ask how large it is? I didn’t see it in your thread about the ring.
