@yssie thank you for describing and taking the pictures of how the ring converts! It's beautifully designed!! I adore it!
My SO came in!!
Virevolte BTF, WG with diamonds. Van Cleef's floral visions are breathtaking
My SA put this order in for me last December. I didn't have an opportunity to see one in-person ahead of ordering, but I loved older photos of it on the other forum, and I figured VCA is very unlikely to make something that isn't seamlessly designed and sturdy
Approval took several months. Apparently finding the design was a bit of an challenge; I assumed I was going to get a nope any day when I heard that - the okay was a happy surprise!
Size 56. Which is too big for me. But I don't have the heart to desecrate it with a snuggie just yet. Apparently once upon a time VCA was willing to add sizing beads... No longer. So plastic it'll have to be.

@yssie I am overjoyed VCA made a new ring for you. Words fail at describing how beautiful and amazing this ring is. The curves, the transition from under to over your finger. A work of art and an engineering marvel. It looks so wonderful on you. I think you will smile every time you wear this grail ring. And for the record, this is my absolute favorite VCA ring, ever.
OH my goodness friend this is spectacular….You have absolutely the best unique combinations. I’ve never even seen this ring…

You're so sweet. Thank you!!
I want this ring in every gold colour. I'd find a way to make a pink leaf work. It's so wearable. It shouldn't be so wearable, it's a *big* ring. But it actually seems like a great stacking ring - *big* but compact, if that makes any sense? And the design is so low key. Just a leaf. A leaf goes with anything. Once upon a time somewhere on the internet I saw a photo of someone who'd paired this with her lotus BTF... I can't find the pic but I remember it being a glorious combo. And whoever it was, she wore that look so dang well!!
The hinge is freshly-oiled smooth. I'm confident no actual oil was involved but I have no idea how they manufactured the swivel. It feels very sturdy but it's so discreet. Just one more of those things that... You've watched me through fifteen years of custom jewellery projects and you've personally babysat me through probably half of them and... I really haven't any idea how I'd go about describing this hinge to a custom designer. But it's luxurious to not have to even think about how it should work. I know you get it.
I can visualize you twisting the leaf and it clicking into place so smoothly and perfectly. The conversion feature of that ring is so discreet. It’s a little secret only you know. But if you wear it open people will wonder “what is that?” Of all rings you could ask VCA to make that is the best choice. Honestly I think VCA loved hand making that ring and that is why it got approved. They must believe that is a quintessential VCA design and embodies the brand as well as if not more than the Alhambra motifs. Yes, people will think I’m crazy and my bias is absolutely showing. But VCA was VCA way before Alhambra motifs.
Ahh @yssie absolutely LOVE this! It reminds me of a monstera leaf and that feels quite unique in the VCA cannon as their collections tend to skew floral (?).
The convertibility is so much fun!
Out of interest, what’s your normal ring size? I would’ve thought that VCA do resizings, unless due to the construction of this ring they don’t allow resizing?
I think the the only rings with hinged mechanical parts are the new flippable Alhambra rings and the Lotus... And I was going to say the Contes d'Hiver BTF but I don't see it on the website anymore! Was it quietly discontinued? @Boom, @NeciaKH do y'all happen to know?
VCA will resize most rings! But not BTFs unfortunately! Apparently the house used to be willing to add sizing beads but they won't do that any longer. A friend recommended this instead of the normal plastic spiral thing, just waiting for it to get here! I'm normally a 53-54 but I like my rings loose so 55 is my happy place - I just future-proofed a bit too vigorously this time LOL.
Nothing like a $9 fix
I do not know, but I wonder if it is a recent change, because there is still a google link to the VCA site for the line, but no actual page.
I have this ring sizer set from Amazon, my word of advice is to find the piece that fits width-wise across the band (usually a few will work) and then trim it to size. For me, it cuts into my skin if I do not trim them at all (be warned that trimming them will also make the ring fit less snugly), and also if I trim them with "sharp" points on the ends of the sizer then it also cuts. You can also take a nail file to the ends to soften them.
The sizers came in and... I see what you mean. I trimmed the ends off the one that seems to fit the rounded shank best, and cut in a curve to avoid pointy plastic, but that's not the issue - it's that the interior edges of both ends are sharp! They're sharp even in the unadulterated ones. And I can't seem to file them enough to remove the sharpness. I wonder if it's possible to heat and reshape a bit... I'll try tomorrow.
Right now all my rings are falling off. So this new ring no longer presents unique annoyance in that regard. It's just stopper-spacer time of year
Lovely addition @Rubies-R-Me
Thanks Pomelo!!
Is there a thread on your three stone ring? Would love to hear its story!
Thanks so much newtojewels! I'm also amazed that the exact ring that I had truly admired for a few years turned up and also that it was an opportune time for me to buy it! A present was due and there it was!Thank you for reviving this thread! There are so many beautiful pieces @Rubies-R-Me, I'm so glad you manifested this ring into your life again! It looks so perfect on you. And @Catmom, what a stunning bracelet you've added to your collection!
Yes! I didn't start a new thread on it.. added it to this.
Thanks so much Miss Rocks!

@Rubies-R-Me Your new bracelet is such a classic piece You'll get so much use from it!
I love the way you collect. The way you just choose what makes you happy. Specifics of style, colour, brand, stone, which body part will be adorned, it's all fair game! And your collection reflects that - I feel like I never know what combo of pieces is going to show up in a photo (but I also feel like I can somehow guess when something will appeal to you )
That is a shame! I wonder if the latest batches of them are more sharp on the inside. I finally had a use for the Fashionphile nail files to file them down a bit. I wonder if you could apply some subtle heat to a smooth metal object and see if they can melt down a bit and soften.
An unexpected little new pretty from me to close out the year! Arrived a few days ago - rose gold Pearls of Gold. In my size, finally!! I need the S/16. My SA said they're very rare still, but it sounds like more might be starting to trickle in. It's a simple little piece but I think it really finishes the stack
The WG is also a size S, I got that one preloved a few months ago. I don't use it much though. The rose gold is definitely my holy POG grail
Maybe a three row will randomly show up too? I'm at the bottom of the fun fund barrel for the year but I'm prepared to divest myself of kidney, firstborn, or both for it...
