Please keep it - you won't find another like this.
I’m keeping it as is.
I had a few wobbly moments thinking it should be in a proper antique setting but the craftsmanship is just so good on this setting that I think it matches for that reason alone!!!
Plus, I just like all the romance of the sparkly bows :))
Thank you!

@nala, tell us about your new find, I am loving the color on that center diamond!

Ok. Fell in love with the setting but the opal might just be temp until I find a better stone. But for now, I love it.

I found these vintage rings in my mom’s house a few years ago, after she passed away. I never saw her wearing them; she was not a jewelry lover- so I think they might have been my grandmother’s. I rediscovered them today after forgetting about them because they were too big on me. The silver lining to a nasty bout of coxsackie: my fingers grew half a size, and now the rings fit!

ggrrrr-- STILL trying to upload my small collection but I am having trouble, but I am drooling at everyone's unique items.
Will keep trying!

Hi everyone! Can anybody tell me something about this ring?FB209819-6D31-4577-812C-05017145F639.jpeg

Just recieved this sweet OEC ring! I bought it late January, but due to the Royal Mail hack delaying international packages, it just got here today.

So white! It was described as an I-J color, but faces up super white (in my opinion - but I'm not a color expert!). Its about 4.4 mm in diameter.

I'm not in love with the band, but I do quite like the head of the setting with its flowery shape and many prongs.

Please excuse the dirtiness, it hasn't had a clean yet -- I got too excited to wait!

I'm waiting for these 3 beauties in the mail - antique ruby diamond pendant (1910s), pendant made from Victorian antique diamond stick pin, and snake ring dated 1889. The snake ring has never been modified and has all the hallmarks, including the date. I need to find someone to make it smaller with beads so I can save the hallmarks. s-l500 (1).jpgs-l500.jpg

Wow!! These are all beautiful, great pieces.

I feel the same, about not wanting to destroy hallmarks.

Got a new one in today! Victorian split pearl and turquoise 9 kt ring.

With hallmarks for Birmingham 1877! And a maker's mark (second image) inside a rectangle that I'm 90% sure reads ".F.B." -- but why would there be a dot before the F ??

The gold has seen better days, but I'll probably leave it as is.

Can anyone recommend a book about vintage jewelry? My MIL gave me ring that I am SURE is from the 1880-90 period but I need more info to be accurate.. Trying to upload, my small collection, but having problems. Hope I can tomorrow.

PS--we're adopting a cat tomorrow!

Recently picked up this ring on eBay. The seller took lousy photos but I knew in my heart she would be a beauty!

Two beautiful colorless OEC diamonds set into a repro Art Deco bypass setting in 14kt WG. My jeweler is in the process of having it appraised and mentioned how beautiful the diamonds are. He thinks it will appraise for approx 4x what I paid for it.

I have such a soft spot for old cuts and have another OEC beauty en route from Ivy & Rose!

My first antique emerald - 18k and silver ring. The setting looks a lot like my victorian sapphire band.

I just found this thread and spent way too much time admiring all the amazing antique and vintage pieces! Here is the latest addition to my antique ring collection. It is very heavy, almost 17 grams and set with a 2ct antique cushion cut sapphire and 1.75cttw OEC diamonds. I’m curious if anyone can help date the gold content hallmark. It’s a sideways 14 inside a square. I’ve never seen a hallmark quite like it. There is no maker’s mark or any other hallmarks.

Oooooh YUMMY I love everything about this!!!

I missed out on a different antique five stone, so got this one instead as a consolation prize!

Its about 1 CTW beautifully wonky OECs. Stones range about J-L, so they have a lovely ivory/creamy color.

She's at the jewelers to get sized from a 4 3/4 to a 6 1/4 -- which will cost $170. Ouch! Gold is expensive.

I'm now absolutely obsessed with five stone/half hoop rings!!
