Show us your Antique/Vintage and Reproduction Rings!

I think it's a pretty ring and don't think the rhodium takes away from it. It's very clearly vintage! :)

BastetCat, I LOVE that red set. Colored stone wedding sets are among my very favorite things!

Thank you Circe! It's not an expensive ring or anything- but I love the setting a lot and I like to wear the stack as a RH color stack.

And here is the very pretty antique ruby and rose gold ring I got as a surprise from Hubby via you on LT. I am pretty sure that is where I saw that one! :)

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh, that looks so perfect on you, I love it! Do you ever have days when you're totally red-handed, with the red set on one hand and the pink(y) ring on the other? :Up_to_something:

BoerumBiddy, I think the jeweler did a great restoration job on your heirloom - it looks beautiful. And, no, I don't think the rhodium takes anything away. It's like an extra layer of polish - a little whiter, a little shinier, but not a huge difference. And it should wear down to a usual finish eventually: when it does, you can replate if it grows on you, or just leave it be!

LOL! Sometimes! Soon I'll be able to mix and match a little better! :naughty:

Thank you, Circe and Bastetcat. My excellent restorer is a longtime Brooklyn craftsman named Jack at The Court Jeweler, 60 Court St
(between Joralemon St & Livingston St), in Brooklyn Heights. (718) 834-8940. Be sure to call ahead, as he does appraisals for estates for Surrogate Court in the morning. He normally works from 2 to 6. Cash only, by the way....Totally honest and reasonably priced.

I found these on eBay recently, I don't know much about vintage or antique jewelry, learning as i go but I love all the beautiful pieces on this thread!

Not sure if this is vintage but I found this at a resale shop a few days ago.

Whether or not it's still cool! (I wanna go shopping with you!!!!) :appl: :appl:

Thanks Bastecat! You are welcome to go shopping with me anytime [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

Here is my Edwardian pear cut. No stats, bought it from antique dealer. I couldn't capture the sparkles because they were too blinding. I love it.

Oh my gosh I LOVE it!! Edwardian and pear cut - two of my very most favorite things!!! It's a beauty.

WOAH!!! Love that Edwardian pear!!!

I'm so happy to see there are now 4 pages here since the beginning of last year! Love these vintage beauties!

This picture does not do justice to this beautiful ring. In the sun, it is blinding. It also has 2 one carat stones, one on each side. Below the 2 carats is two round cuts approximately .25 points each. There are countless chips all over. It is my one in a lifetime find and it took forever to pay it off but it's all mine now.

Thank you for the compliments. :wavey:

Would love to see a hand shot!!!

I'm slowly trying to get this in all the threads it fit with. My OEC reset from a platinum setting which didn't suit it in to an antique setting which really does. :sun: It was scary because everyone said "NO! Moving from platinum down to gold?!!????" But I was right.

My love-about 1 carat total weight with a transitional cut diamond in the center. VERY high colored stones, but never had it professionally graded. I wear it with an antique 18k carat yellow gold forget me not band.

Can't get enough of it :) c.1905-1915, center is 1.25 cushion modified brilliant, platinum setting, 1.77 tccw.

Here are my current vintage pieces:

I bought this as a rehab project, but am wearing it as-is for now.

This is my stack; platinum diamond eternity band is engraved with 1927 date, platinum diamond/sapphire eternity is a reproduction piece from Brilliant Earth, platinum engraved wedding band is vintage.

This is a platinum/diamond/emerald ring which I received as an anniversary gift. Unfortunately it was damaged during repair and is now undergoing additional repairs. I'm not sure what it will look like when it is done.

This is my Great-great Grandmother''s Star Sapphire ring with diamonds in white gold. My mother gave this ring to me a few years back, let me know what you think!

That's awesome. I like this design very much, especially the sapphire. It must be very precious.

Here's my art deco ring. (and the reason I need a breathalyzer on my ebay account) The center is a .6 ct old mine cut (I think - can anyone help with that?) surrounded by single cuts. I think it kind of looks like a playboy bunny head but when I bought it it just looked like a ribbon. :twirl:

I have been thinking about replacing the center stone (the ring was rehabbed before I got it) because the center stone has a giant dead spot in it. I'm not sure if it's a fish eye or a bad cut but it doesn't look included. It photographs well though so I may just leave it alone a while and see if my eyes can learn to love it.

I think it's a very pretty ring. And I agree, wear it for awhile and see if that center stone still bothers you. If it does, than even a sapphire would look nice in it.

That's a fabulous idea that I had never considered! I'd love a sapphire and it would look pretty awesome.

I DIED over this one on JbEG! Congratulations!

It's beautiful. I love the little details like the enamel and the scroll work.

mrs.taylor and iluvshinythings; thank you for your kind words :wavey:

I have my little ebay find to add. Purchased it a few months ago and just had it resized. It's platinum, from the 20s or 30s. Just under 1/2 ctw.

Here is my great grandmother's wedding ring. It's a victorian buckle ring. When I found it, it had a fake red glass stone in the center (typical of victorian jewelry) I had it replaced with a tourmaline. I had it repaired, the prongs re-made and the seed pearls re-glued. It's rose gold and hand made and hand carved.

Oh soxfan, that is absolutely beautiful! What an amazing job you did in restoring it! What a special treasure to have - like owning a little piece of history, and with so much sentiment attached - I really love it!

Oh, and it looks amazing on your hand!
