Oh Bluegemz, it's so beautiful and magical. It looks so RIGHT on your hand.
Awe, thanks @suzanne2 ! Honestly, I was looking through my rings while wearing the star ruby when I realized that only a few feel completely ‘right’. It’s so nice when we find a piece that does!Oh Bluegemz, it's so beautiful and magical. It looks so RIGHT on your hand.
Absolutely beautiful, and I think it's more gorgeous than your inspiration ring! I love the arrangement of the halo, and your star ruby is more gemmy than the inspiration. In my opinion, beauty isn't depend on size, and your star ruby glows bright and beautiful.

Awe, thanks @LisaRN !Sigh.......such perfection.
Great score, @stracci! Love all of those stars! You could do stackers with those!
This man had so many things I wanted! All his pieces were TDF! He collected them all on his world travels. We had a nice discussion, and he said I could call him anytime if I want more!@Bluegemz your star ruby ring is gorgeous! I love how solar the setting is...it reminds me of a fiery sun! Congrats!!
@stracci2000 congrats on your scores! It must have been a thrilling treasure hunt! I love everything you picked!
Thank you @Keeliamira! It is really one of my favorite, most worn pieces... which took many months to complete. It is my strength, courage, extroverted, joyful, embodiment ring. When compared with the other star rings which I have, it pushes out from a core ‘being-ness’ rather than drawing me into vastness of sky and ocean, which my blue ones tend to do. It’s just has very different spirit to it. Also reminds me to streamline, taylor and focus my energy.@Bluegemz your star ruby ring is gorgeous! Omg, SO LUCKY! Those kind of connections are the best because of the kindness and stories which come with them! Gemstones without histories are just not as fulfilling to me.This man had so many things I wanted! All his pieces were TDF! He collected them all on his world travels. Yes, he said he worked in product development for a Fortune 500 company, and they sent him all over the world. He was a very interesting person and I enjoyed talking with him. And he lives less than 2 miles from my house. This could be dangerous.Omg, SO LUCKY! Those kind of connections are the best because of the kindness and stories which come with them! Beautiful color!! How sweet! The bubble is probably a crystal inclusion. I find them fascinating. What a great find. It would look fantastic in yellow gold,!Heya fellow star lovers!
I just wanted to add my miniscule find that is on its way from Thailand.
Its tiny at 5x6mm & .95ct and is a small buy at $32, but I thought it was lovely. I like its clarity and color. Purple/pink star sapphires are such a love for me!
I'm also not sure what that little bubble is but IMO it gives it some visual interest.
I think I'll make a simple ring with it out of 14k yellow gold, maybe a beaded band or some texture on the band to make it interesting.
Really lovely! It’s so plump and perfect. Reminds me of a little sea urchin.
The hex shape is really fascinating. I love interesting star sapphires with visible hex patterns because of the geometry.

Wow! A great job stracci. I think the ring is extremely cool and very wearable. What an interesting pairing. You really have a great sense (in my opinion) of spacing relationships. That design with 2 differently shaped and colored stars could easily look cluttered, but yours has a peace and harmony in it. Those stones seem so naturally placed, and the ring gives a sense of breathing room, while having a wonderful open, enigmatic quality. Can you tell that I love it? This is a piece which I would wear so often! Great job and great that you did the stones justice so that they can be worn.

I love open rings for this reason. I would try making my own, but I'm just terrible at bezel. I can barely trust myself to prong set gemstones. Your workmanship is exquisite, though--such even bezels! And it's adjustable, so I can wear it on different fingers!
Thanks! Bezels can be a challenge. I just wrestle with the metal 'till I get it to do what I want. Hoping that it turns out well is just a gamble, really.I love open rings for this reason.
