Congratulations! I asked about this one too and was too late as well. I did get the new pink tourmaline though. Yay!

By the way, WF told me they won''t bezel tourmalines because they are soft, though other jewelers might. Anyone else have experience with bezeling tourmalines? I wanted to bezel my stone too.

i actually just had a tourmaline bezeled by kyle anne on etsy. she had no problems. she used white gold. it looks fantastic from the pics. i will get to see it soon, and will post pics on here soon!

thanks marcy, ice, chrono, and y....i am beyond excited!

The stone doesn''t need protection but I suggested an enclosed setting to beef up the glow factor.
Thanks, I really like the tourmalines everyone is posting but I don''t know much about them. Other than that they are softer than garnet and spinel.

Tourmalines come in just about every colour so every one can choose to collect whichever pleases their eyes.

Tourmalines are not softer than garnet. Actually some garnet species are softer than tourmaline, but most garnets are about the same on the Mohs scale.

WOO HOO.....what a beauty!!!

Yes Garnets are a 7 to 7.5 and Tourmaline is a 7.5.

Somehow I got it stuck in my mind that garnets are harder! Even though I know the numbers! I don''t know why! Sorry!
