Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Yes, I was going to say it looks like a marriage of two different bands.

That's what I thought too, and it makes me like it even more haha

Anyone looking for a 2.7-ish K-L-ish OEC for a really good price? Attaching lousy teaser here to hopefully keep poachers away. Message me via LT if you want the link.

I messaged you. I’ve been looking for an OEC for a bit. But I also just bought the sapphire and am currently having it set as a 3 stone, so this may not be in budget. I have to inquire anyway.

love your methodology!

Hey, I'm a PSer who regularly (several times a day) checks this thread, which was originally created to share antique and vintage treasures we come across yet aren't buying ourselves. Posters would regularly include photos and links.

I totally get it when someone gives a shout-out that they're looking for something in particular, and people who respond with candidates and options want to make sure that person gets the info/eyes-on first ...

But these latest mocked-up / blurred / contact-me-offline-for-link posts do not fit that scenario (to my reading), and personally I am finding it exclusionary and off-putting.

Obviously I can't make you stop, but perhaps you didn't realize how it comes off to PSers who do not have your offline contact info and/or do not want to jump through hoops just to get the link and be able to look at or buy the pretty thing.

Totally fair! I definitely didn't mean to come off that way. I just always feel badly when folks post something here and then it seemingly gets snapped up by lurkers or others who don't actually participate.

@marymm I am also a regular poster and I disagree. This thread is for true jewelry lovers sharing deals and rare finds. Unfortunately, dealers have been known to lurk and snatch deals to flip them for profit. Everyone has to make a living but I think it violates the spirit of the thread. I see nothing against making it harder for flippers to grab pieces before us regulars do, who intend only to buy the pieces for personal use.

I do think requests should be their own thread. Some forums have a “chat” and “no chat” version of their finds threads. One just gets the link updates while the other is for discussion. We could do that.

That’s my .02. Everyone is welcome to disagree.

One thing that I noticed is that the date - Oct. 14th 1884 was a Tuesday. So, that means nothing - I guess I just was wondering if it was a marriage date - or anniversary - or the date the ring was presented after being melded together. Or, maybe folks got married on Tuesdays....

If anyone is looking to make a 3 stone this will get you 2/3rds of the way! or it’s a pretty pair of drop earrings as is …

Oh, that is so pretty! :kiss2:

I'm sorry I missed these. I need to check in later in the evening!

They went on hold and sold within minutes of me posting the link. I had been watching them for a couple of weeks so I’m hoping it was a PS’r who snagged them :)

I purchased these before for myself months ago and returned them. One diamond is ok the other has a horrible cut with fish eye. They are not a good match IMO and would not work in a ring, for me personally they also would not work for earrings.

Good to know. So hard to tell from the terrible TRR photos. Their descriptions are often inaccurate as well. … but it doesn’t stop me from shopping with them. :roll2:
