Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

TRR dump:

2 toned tiffany band:

Cool wide floral band

Pricey but I love the aesthetic

One of my favorite artists. Such unique cool designs

White for a true old cut, but interesting anyway

1ct old mine half eternity with engraving on the other side

I tried to post the link but it’s flagged for moderator approval. I think you can see the seller name. I don’t know if they are a trusted seller.

That seller has been honest with me.

@Dreamer_D we miss you! come back and visit this thread! We’ll try not to tempt you during the postal strike!

lol this strike will never end and my little diamond will die in limbo!

@newtojewels are you wanting my opinion about what kind of cut that is? I dunno honestly but French cut doesn’t seem right to me at all. I don’t think it’s a mazarin bc at least if this diagram is correct it should only have four star facets around the table. That one has 8.

From this image it looks like a peruzzi. Or what the above diagram called an English square cut.

Either one puts in in the 1700s(!!) for cut! Price is good for the size and for an upscale vendor. I bet the color is weird in person. Probably looks like dishwater lol otherwise I feel like they’d price it higher.

@Dreamer_D Super weird for Lang's to get it wrong though. They're usually superb.

@Dreamer_D Thank you, definitely didn't look French cut to me but I would have assumed they were right like @Grymera said. I'm definitely not thinking about buying this ring, I just found it interesting and the diamond looked super old. Love the idea of a 1920's reset of a 1700's diamond, though! So fun :)

IMO anyone interested in purchasing the Lang's piece should send them an email and I'm sure they could get ahold of someone to walk them through the history of the piece. They have experts and jewelers of incredible caliber on staff.

Anyone willing to play the TRR game, I just returned this 4ctw lab tennis necklace for $1,065. (To be fair, I didn't see anything stamped on it LGD so who knows). This should be in stock within the next day or so. Nothing wrong with it, just too small for my liking and I thought it flipped too much on me.

IMG_1290.pngDoes anyone else love antique snake jewelry like me? Saw this while perusing eBay and while there’s no diamonds I thought it was pretty neat.

If I had to guess the GIA report calls it a French cut and they want to keep consistent. But GIA is often weird in naming old cuts.

GIA is calling it modified square brilliant. I also thought it was odd that Lang's called it French because it's definitely not a French cut. It is a really beautiful ring though!

ETA they do have a bigger French cut that is a French cut https://www.langantiques.com/lang-collection-1-60-carat-french-cut-diamond-ring-gia-h-vs2.html

This isn’t a super bargain but it is SO. CUTE. Old Mine Cut Q-R in a pretty, really pretty antique English stamped 18k yellow gold setting. Not sure if it’s the lighting but diamond looks lemony yellow, not quite fancy yellow tho. This is my ideal type of ring!

What a lovely lemony cutie! It looks like the hallmarks are Swedish, with date mark “H10” indicating the ring was assayed in 1982 — so vintage but not antique for the setting, with perhaps an inherited old mine cut.

I bought this! I had been watching it also and it felt so cheap when the price dropped! Hopefully I love it as it was final sale…:lol-2:

I am glad you got it and I really want to see pictures when you receive!

Two more great pieces on sale for the holidays at McTeigue. The earrings in particular are quite a nice price for the ctw.

And a super cool old monogrammed ring. Gorgeous engraving! Size 7.5, but 12mm wide, so likely firs 6.75-7.
