Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Agreed. I will say, most likely it was rejected because of the stone clarity more than the metal content. As I mentioned in a post above, when I recently had an item test lower than the stated gold content (marked 14k but tested lower), they reached out to let me know and ask if I still wanted it. It was a very easy interaction in that case. All that to say, I think they are improving in some respects.

Same. They also email me for metal content, which I think it's fair. I'd personally never reject for that unless it's grossly overstated.

Lovedogs do you have first look on TRR?

Hmmm I'm not sure. Maybe? Not sure how I'd know. But I've sold a bunch of shoes with them so maybe?

It is a subscription for which you pay a monthly fee, so if you don't know it is unlikely that you have it.

I’m wondering the same lol two out of three are unavailable

Yes- and the good news is/ bad news is that I totally would’ve bought one! Haha

Nope, then i don't haha

I just impulse grabbed this from TRR. I saw it and immediately thought it might be Kataoka, so had to snag it asap. We will see what it is when it arrives. In the meantime, what do you all think? It's dirty AF, but it looks darned close.

One i bought:

Kataoka:

The metalwork on the side stones is what really makes me think it's Kataoka. It's so distinctive. Fingers crossed HARD because I've wanted a kataoka ring forever but they're insanely expensive.

Edit. If it's Kataoka and the center stone is .25ct (as TRR listed), then it retails for $8100. Wowzers.

How did this work out?!?

Question for everyone - does TRR ever price at or below gold pricing? I have my eye on a very heavy chain and have been waiting for the price to come down a bit. It’s currently at 1.2x scrap gold value, which is over $5k. It’s a minor want so I’m ok with waiting a bit to see what happens.

@winnietucker I do see items priced below scrap, however that's more of an anomaly after reductions (and TBH rare). I'm pretty sure their AI prices at X% above scrap for non-branded gold pieces to start. Whether or not a price will ever be marked down is really the question. Some pieces go to 20% fairly quickly, some go down to 5%, some have been sitting in inventory for YEARS and never get a reduction. You can wait and layer a "buy more save more" sale for store credit, but there's just no way to know if a particular piece will ever be marked down, and if so, for how much. It's pretty frustrating TBH.

I think I read that 50,000 clicks (or some number) without purchase, triggers a sale price.

no one bought it so I was forced to do it myself. Not sure if it’s a steal but it ticks the boxes for a couple future project ideas…

2 - 5.5 mm and 14 - 3 mm OEC stones.

Realllllly pretty. I have not settled on a setting for Willie yet so of course another project is exactly what I need. (Eye roll). Not sure if I’m keeping or not.

Oh I hadn’t considered that! Was thinking or making a band to go with the unset diamond ring I plan on making haha. And either small stud earrings or a toi et moi (husband and I are both April bdays).

Hope this is legal….

I love this! Someone buy it! Lucky size 7!

What a fine! A suite of 3mm OECs is wonderful to have. And a pair of 5mm stones is always useful. What did you pay for it?

Including tax it was $2000. Probably not a steal but I’m hoping I can scrap the 10 grams of 18k for $400.

A very good price. Best price I have seen for 5.5mm OECs in in the realm of $750 each and that’s singles, not a pair, so for the entire piece it’s a great price. I do like it as is. I wish brooches were more practical these days for wear.

Just incase there is a floral/plant lover.
