A pair of pear royal rhodolites, which I'd like to dangle from my studs. They will join their emerald-cut sister.

For those of you who are wondering, I still suck at phototaking. This picture is by courtesy of Richard M.

Are the rhodolites out of proportion to my studs? Yes, and we''re back to my photo-taking.

They are gorgeous, Harriet. It''s a bit hard to tell from the pics, but I think the proportions should be fine.

What a stunning pair of earrings you will have!

Thanks! Sorry -- I am truly awful at taking pictures.

WOW, I bet they''ll look absolutely gorgeous on you.

Thank you! What do you think of the proportions?

They look perfect with your studs. I'd drop them down off of the stud a little bit like Widget's. Here's her thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-drops-for-my-studs.55822/ I can't wait to see the finished result.
Thanks!
Which will be beautifully photographed.

. Mind if I ask where you got them from?

They will be lovely drops to yr studs.

(I remember someone saying they didn't like pear-shaped stones not so long ago!

Harriet, you scared me with that topic title. I was sure that something had ''come for you'' like the black thing, or the bloody eye. As in ''I have come for you Harriet! Mwahahahaaaa!''

Glad to hear you''re safe.

Love the shape, love the color. They will be fabulous hanging from studs!

Thanks! How far would you guys drop them from the studs?

The rhodolites are just beautiful, Harriet!!! I am not sure about proportions, but I am thinking that Widget uses a smaller pair of studs to attach her drops. Maybe she''ll see this thread and post.

About as far as Widget''s pears are from the round in the second pic down (on the left) of her thread that was posted in here.

Beautiful!!

Thanks, DS! I''ll have to take the studs and stones to the jewellers to see what they think.

I love drop earrings! Looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

I''ll keep you posted.

I need you ladies'' input. As you know, I''d like to use the rhodolites as dangling jackets. My studs are 6x6. These pears are 6x9. I just found out that the vendor has 7x10s. Would those go better with my studs? Thanks!

I''m hard pressed to imagine exactly how it would look but I really like the proportions of the stone you already have with your studs - from the original blurry pic you posted.

I think I''d prefer bigger garnets with your studs (what I can see of them

).

Can you keep those for say... a pendant? and a um... spare?

I think 7x10 would be better.
