Specific Gravity of Grade B Jadeite

Another question. What is the difference between Lao Pit and Lao Kheng jade?

Same, both refer to old mine. Mine/pit same to me. 坑，矿。All from the ground :P

I have setting fees to pay in the new year and they add up!

This Muna pendant, although uneven in colour, and maybe you can’t see it from the terrible picture, it is different because it is like a piece of clear class and then a layer of green underneath. There are no white clouds of crystals at all. Just clear glass like jadeite. And then a stream of colour. Like when you add food colouring to water and you do not stir and you watch it diffuse gradually.

I thought I should look closely at what quality I want for forthcoming purchases. Does not have to be Muna, but this texture.

My weaknness will be the Hulu. Or the cabbages and peanuts. But I doubt in the carved ones such texture can be found. Unless they are carved sceneries. Or in bangles.

Are fish significant in any way as well?

They’re cute for me。 And cabbage is 白菜 but you can say 百財 as in fortune one hundred times.

And peanuts is 花生 ， or business growth or your luck grows or your fortune blossoms and regenerates。

Fish would be good. Means good luck. But the fish for the moment not very fine in carving. Or difficult maybe because first lot goes to those who can pay and have their pick.

It reminds me of a rich oil painting on a glassy canvas.

With your description, I could imagine its formation as a river jadeite mixed in with minerals and cleansed by currents and constant tumbling over the eons!

I think sold. From what I understand in her post. I think 27000 rmb is a bit high for a donut. Even if it is Muna jadeite. Because carved scenery pendants at good colour and texture and huger big big bigger are maybe slightly higher, and you get better value for money this way. Or an icy bangle. Oh, I am terrible. Spend more on other jadeite.

Hhhmmmph. Livestream had these 2 donuts today that are around 31-34mm. Opening price 40+k rmb. They want to sell at 30+k rmb. Roll eyes. Even the broadcaster can't be bothered to neg with the sellers.

I commented the 27k one is cheaper AND better.

Hi @Duyen , I only just managed to add number 6 and number 8 on to wechat. I think number 8 also does bangles.

You know, I love all jadeite bangles. Let me see carefully tonight. Very late tonight. I have dinner to attend but I will keep looking. I am limited to looking at it on iPad but I think iPad is realistic too; better than looking at it from phone.

Hi @ChaiK , it so lovely of you to take the time to post whereas you must be starting to celebrate for the New Year’s Eve. Thank you so much for that.
I too do use an iPad and the bangle that I returned to YY was even nicer in real life than it was when viewed with the iPad - the green being more vivid, and lively than in pictures.

I'm so lucky to be involved with such gracious ladies. And one gentleman (looking at you @prs). I suggest we all meet at the doors of a Chinese jade factory. I can fly anywhere...What say you? Gotta get this done before I die of old age...

Ok, just saying I have bought rubbish jade, impulse purchases and I like everything jadeite. Also, I am not the expert. I just think these things:

1. Lovely colour

2. Nice round bangle, the type that I like

3. Texture looks like glutinous but finer. So price at 35000 rmb must be for the colour and more green crystals. It must be that there is more green clear crystals over the white ones, if price is so much higher.

4. Be careful still. Ask for more pictures, and check regarding the white crystals. Are the tiny tiny white crystals obvious? Is there more of the green than these white crystals?

5. Any bits of flat colour? You cannot see these bits of cold colour usually. And if they exist, they weaken the jade bangle. They look like hidden grey bits beneath the green. And the more grey or more brown it looks, the more sand or stone there is in the green crystals. This one, as far as I can see, does not have any. I am not home, so this is difficult to describe. I will try to find a bangle when I get home to show you what I mean. This one that you like appears not to have it. Ask for more pictures with the bangle laying on the palm, flat, so you can see the entire circle at one flat angle. Ask also for hand shots. The jadeite loses translucency in the hand when the light hits it, so it may look different.

I hope this turns out to be a better bangle.

But ya know, like in every other country, foreigners will be viewed as cash cows. So you have to be prepared to walk away and come back empty handed.

I like this. Just need to check if green is like that irl and semi translucent. Price not too bad assuming you can knock 10% off it at the least haha.
 
Pink Bandit is so mean! He knows I am on a ban that I can't go off and so in order to take my mind off gems I am writing fanfic again.

So he tells me "Go forth and be a starving artist like your Twitter cohorts and not your gem friends. This will help you with the ban."

Hehe this ban is reminding me of my younger days when I used to make deals with Buddha to let me pass accounting and then I would go vegan for a month (it was a struggle I like my meat I am sad to admit).

Pink Bandit used to say "Buddha doesn't care about your accounting class and you can't just strike random deals with him."
