I've purchased 2 spinels that are on the way of Burmese/mogok origin,I had to have them even tho I'm new to spinels. Tell me whatchu think, the pink one is 1.25 carats of purplish pink spinel, and the bluish purple is 5.7 carats
Also show me your spinels,I would like to see what their all about

Welcome to the world of spinel! It’s one of my absolute favorite gems.

Your big blue/purple is a nice size, but I’ll be curious to know what you think of it IRL. It looks a bit dark in the photo, even with a lot of light on it. The pink one is interesting, and I’ve seen a bunch of folks turn to spinel for peachy shades (rather than sapphires and garnets). Yours has a bit of a window, so be mindful of that!

Here’s a selection of my own spinels. Red and pink in the left. Lavender, dark purple, and blue grey in the right.

And some fun cobalt spinel melee.

I miss this ring so much as I've been stuck in lockdown so haven't worn it.

I call it wonky. It has a fabulous colour but the cut is ...wonky!!!

You have gorgeous spinels! Is the top red one cut by Jeff White?

My memory is not bad:) I recognised that shape was shown on Jeff’s website! Is any of your stones considered Jedi btw?

Glad to see a thread like yours sharing their spinel purchase ~

I am also concerned with the window shown in the photo of the pink, and hope it’s not too obvious or distracting IRL.

as for the purple one, if the clarify is good and you are happy with the colour and it’s darker tone, it will be a nice gem.

So excited for you! Can't wait for pictures when they arrive. Hold on to your wallet, spinels are addictive. Here is my family of spinels.

None of the ones I posted are Jedi. I do have a small faceted one and a cab, but I don’t have pictures handy of them.

I like the orange colour although I must warn you about these tricks sellers use when selling gems. If the table is reflecting light like this, it is usually deliberately done to hide something, like a large window, inclusions or zoning. At 13 cts though you probably could have it recut down the road, if you like. As long as you don’t pay much, do enjoy your journey with spinels! I love them and here are a few of mine: 810830

That purple, wow,it's actually very regal looking,I plan to put my purple one in a heavy setting,I'm kinda partial to purple.

I think your purple spinel will be similar to mine, dark indoors but flashes in the sun. Although dark, it looks to be well cut.
