V!V! I am still hoping to speak with you about CKBluxury.com and your wedding band.

We need to order my band (very similar to yours) by tomorrow if we go with CKBluxury.com but I was hoping to speak with you about their work and if they are trustworthy. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out.

Thank you!

I hope she responds for you! Just so you know, my bezel band from Adwar/WF turned out beautifully, and was cheaper than the quote from CKB...

Thanks geckodani! I saw your band and it''s beautiful - very dainty!!

I had my jeweler check out one of the bands I liked at Adwar and it was much more than CKBluxury.com. I think they were charging quite a bit to do all the baguette sets. He keeps telling me how labor intensive it is to set them.

I also didn''t care for the settings on adwar with the rounds/baguettes. The milgrain on one seemed awfully large and the band with just the bezel settings (no milgrain) seemed all different and kind of messy. I couldn''t tell if it would look different once the stones were set or if that''s just how it was. It was hard to get a clear picture of what either band on Adwar would look like once it was finished. With v!v!''s band, you can plainly see how awesome it looks.

We are getting down to the wire (3.5 weeks to go to the wedding). I don''t know what to do. Do you think whiteflash could get us something by then?

I honestly don''t know. If you love v!v!''s band, I say go for it! What exactly are your concerns?

V!V! is the only person I''ve heard about using CKBluxury.com
Are they reputable? Are they trustworthy? This is a band I''m purchasing online and by pictures only. I won''t be able to try it on and because it''s custom, I can''t return it. It''s nerveracking to know that this is it. We can''t do anything once it''s purchased. And since there isn''t anyone else who''s worked with ckbluxury.com, it''s hard to tell what we''re getting into. Does that make sense? Or am I just worrying too much.

No, it makes total sense, and I had many of the same concerns.

I wish I could be more helpful!

Me too! :)
V!V! ARE YOU OUT THERE?!!?!?

Hi Grey - honestly if you like it, and can''t get it somewhere else, and V!V! loved hers, maybe you should just go for it!!

I''m a bit of a risk taker like that though ...

This is what v!v! wrote about hers:

thank you maiyavel and diamond*dana! it''s approximately 1 carat, with colorless vs diamonds. i had it custom made from www.ckbluxury.com. they are awesome to work with and i highly recommend them!

So she seemed pretty pleased!

Hello! So sorry, I''m just now seeing this. I got married and went on my honeymoon and things are just starting to slow down for me. Anyway, CKBLuxury is awesome. I would totally recommend them and they are very dependable people. My husband bought my engagement diamond from them and also the wedding band and they couldn''t have been easier to work with. My husband''s brother and a couple other of our friends have also gone through them as well and have had nothing but great things to say about them.

I know that when I worked with Brad he told my husband that if we didn''t like the custom band I could return it and he''d keep it in his collection...I''m not sure if that''s still his policy or not, but it''s worth asking about.

I''d love to answer any other questions you have. Again, sorry I''m just now responding!

Yay! You saw it!

Another thing I thought of since I just saw that it''s getting down to the wire and you need to order soon... they made the ring pretty quickly... if I remember correctly it took about 2 weeks or less and then Brad overnighted it to me the day it was done.

haha...hi geckodani! yeah, i feel bad that she''s been trying to contact me and i hadn''t seen it until now. i''ll do whatever i can to help!

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Hope your wedding and honeymoon were fablulous!!

Unfortunately, I JUST sent Brad an email telling him that we wouldn''t be able to go with him. My fiance is very old school and is completely uncomfortable with online purchasing/custome design. He was uncomfortable at first, but because he knew it was what I wanted, he went with it. We were all set to send out the first payment today when Brad sent an email saying he''d misquoted the price and it was now another $400. My fiance didn''t take that very well and now totally doesn''t trust Brad and thinks we are going to lose all our money.

He asked Brad about returning it if we didn''t like it and Brad said he could give us half our money back, but not the entire amount because it was a custom piece. So that freaked him out even more (though now you''re telling me Brad told you he''d take it back if you didn''t like it).

We loved that he''d get it done for us in time for our ceremony, and I''d still be okay going with Brad and CKBluxury, but my fiance is completely uncomfortable with it. So now it looks like no ring for the ceremony and we''ll find something else afterward

I swear, I never thought finding a wedding band would be 100 times harder than finding an engagement ring. It''s so frustrating!!!

If your fiancee is uncomfortable with online purchasing, you can always take a picture of the band from adwar to a local jeweler and get them to custom make you the band. It will cost a lot more than doing it online and take more time, but you''ll get to see/try the final product before actually purchasing.

We did this with my wedding re-set that I just did and we''ve also just custom designed a family ring (very similar to v!v! wedding band) that should be here in January. We went with a local jeweler as we were more comfortable staying local and we happened to be in the right place at the right time for a People''s (aka Zales/Mappins) restyle event. We put down a small deposit (10% of purchase price) and they guarantee you''ll love your ring or they will fix it until it''s right.

The e-ring came back almost perfect (the side baguettes need to be moved further down the shank and flush mount with no ridges), but I did not give them a picture of that ring... just a description and they got it near perfect on the first try. I showed them a picture of how I want the side baguettes after it came back and they are fixing them right now... should be back in time for Christmas. Link to what we had done...https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/theyre-here-ec-wedding-rings-reset.100918/

I thought about going with WF for the family ring, but they would not bezel set the gemstones I wanted... said they were too soft to work with. So we went locally with that ring as well since we were so happy with the wedding re-set.

We also had a discrepancy on my center diamond... which is supposed to be a VVS1 and came back from their appraiser as an SI1. Quite the difference! Jason (our jeweler) looked at it and said there''s no way it''s an SI1... They are double checking it while it''s getting fixed and they will also send it out to GIA for a 3rd party independent appraisal so that I know what I have for sure... not that it really matters to me. It''s my diamond and I love it... I''ve had it for 11 years, it''s not getting changed now no matter what it comes back as.

They''ve just given us outstanding CS and I love them for it.

Hi GrayC25,

I did have a fabulous wedding and honeymoon, thanks! Too bad I only get one wedding in my lifetime. It was a lot of fun. :) The best of luck to you with your upcoming wedding!

I''m so sorry about the trouble you and your fiance had with Brad. I totally understand the apprehension to buy anything online, especially not knowing the company. Brad was the one that spoke to my husband about the band being returned if I didn''t like it, it''s possible that my husband just left out the part about only getting half of our money back. I''ll check with him about it...

That''s a little strange that he came back and said it would be another $400, and if he had done that to us I might not have gone with him either.

I''m sorry that you and your fiance didn''t have the same experience that my husband and I, and several other of our friends had with him. I''m not sure what the deal is there...

I really hope that you are able to find a wedding band and a jeweler that you love soon.

I am still so stuck on your ring. I can''t find anything else I love as much. I even spoke with Whiteflash, but in order to do it in the small timeframe, they went with a setting from Adwar (like you geckodani!) but I''ve seen that setting and I''m not too thrilled with it. It doesn''t have the thin, smaller bezel sets like yours. The metal around the diamonds in the adwar setting seems too thick and uneven in some areas. It''s not dainty like the one I have my eye on. So I''m not sure.

Brad just emailed me again saying he could make the band 2.5mm and the price would be less, with .90 tcw. The other ring he quoted us on yesterday was 3mm at 1.30tcw. I love the 3mm and the 1.30tcw, but my fiance is so apprehensive. I just wish we knew of more people who''ve used ckbluxury.com to get reviews from them.

v!v! - Out of curiousity, what''s how wide is your band, how many mm??

Hmmmmm. Sometimes the adwar settings look bulkier than they are. I mean, here''s the pic of mine from the site, and the finished product:

befafteradgd.JPG

I''m not trying to push Adwar on you, I just really want you to have a ring for your wedding! Which one was WF looking at using?

I know you''re not and I really appreciate any help or input you share. I really want a ring, too, but I also want one that I love, not one I got just to have one for our wedding day.

I can''t figure out how to post a picture of the setting since it''s on adwar''s site, but the number is W3317. It''s got alternating rounds/baguettes and it''s a 2.2mm with

If you look at the round one right in the middle/top,you can see that the metal/setting around it is uneven and very bulky around the sides. I don''t want all that metal in between stones. Does that make sense?

I was just looking on adwar and their settings for the round/princess are perfect, exactly what I''m looking for. I don''t quite understand why it''s so different on the round/baguette band.

But I am glad that you see what I''m talking about and I''m not just being overly picky or whatever. That makes me somewhat happy :)

Right now, our budget right now is $1100 - $1400. If we wait until after the wedding, it''ll be higher (and I might be able to get the beverley k band I love, but it''s hard to justify spending that much).

I''m trying so hard to find something else I could love, but I keep going back to this ring. I''ve loved the round/baguette combination for months now and I just keep going back to v!v!''s ring. I love it!

Thanks for your help, I''d love to see any alternatives you might find.

kaori,

My name is Gray, not Gary. I''m a female, trust me :)
I did see your post in the other thread, but I did not care for the ring. I appreciate your help, but it''s not exactly what I''m looking for. The metal around the stones seems very thick and baulky, not exactly what I''d like.

Thanks again.

Sorry Gray...

I just feel so bad that you cannot have the ring you want for the wedding....

I was just looking back through your old posts. Question for you - do you still, truly want that BevK band? Because if so, I would really suggest getting married with a plain band, and saving up for the BevK band. I know from personal experience that if you have your heart set on a particular ring or style, even the next best thing just isn''t enough.

I do like the milgrain, but it''s hard to tell how big it is on that band. Seeing things online is difficult for me because they are enlarged and it''s hard for me to picture what it''ll look like in person. So I see the milgrain on that ring being very big and bulky. However, I LOVED the milgrain on the BevK bands.

Hello again GrayC25!
My band width is 3mm and the carat weight is approximately 1ct.
I wish there was something more that I could do to help.
The Beverly K band that you''re talking about... is it the same style as my ring with the milgrain? I soooo wanted that band too, but couldn''t justify spending that much money for it, which is why I had Brad custom make mine. Like Geckodani said, if you can afford to have it after the wedding, I would just wait until then. That band is absolutely stunning and then you could have what you really want. If it were me, I''d just buy a plain white gold band now just so you could have something for your wedding!

The BevK band is like the ultimate for me. I would love to have it. Yes, we could probably use some wedding money to get it, but do I really want to do that? We promised ourselves we''d save it to put toward a house. I never thought to use that money, but my FI is the one who suggested it so I could get the ring I REALLY wanted. Not sure if it''s worth it to me. I mean, if we had the extra money, I''d totally get it, but we said we''d put that money toward furniture and a future home. Plus - and this is just me being selfish and wanting a ring for the ceremony - I''d hate to wait that long to order it and then wait 6 weeks to get it :)

That''s why I like Brad''s band so much. It''s similar, but not as much. Also, Brad''s ring is a 3mm, which I love, and the BevK band is only 2.5 or so. My hands/fingers are bigger (8.5 ring size) so I think a 3mm will look better and not get lost. My fiance and I are still floating around the idea of getting it from Brad, but we have to come up with the extra $400.

v!v! - you say I can trust him? It''s hard to feel completely comfortable after the price was raised. I don''t see a lot of people on here that''ve used him/ckbluxury.com and I know we''re questioning not being able to return it if we don''t like it.

Did Brad send you pics or anything during the design process? Did you get pictures of it once he was finished before he sent it?

I do keep going back to the bevk ring, but just not sure.

Ooooh...I didn''t realize you were talking about using the money from the wedding to put towards the wedding band. I can see how you''re conflicted about your situation. And I totally understand about the wait too...I''m a very impatient person and have a very "I want it NOW" attitude.

Drives my husband nuts.

Personally, I trusted Brad. My husband trusted Brad and other members of his family and our friends have trusted him. Have you talked to him over the phone? Maybe if you talked to him on the phone you''d get a better gauge of him as a person and it might help you decide? A lot of things are lost in translation over the internet/email.

Brad didn''t send pictures during the design process or after, but I also didn''t ask for them. I sent him a picture of the Beverly K band and trusted that he would make it exactly how I wanted it. Maybe I was putting a little too much faith in him, but again, I was completely pleased with the way things turned out.
