Sugarloafs, carvings, & cabs! Share your best non-faceted gems!

Cabs are so delicious and timeless! I've searched for and perused through PS cab threads many times. Thank you for starting this new one Adam95, my eyes have been blessed.

Luckily I just received a little vintage moonstone ring in the post today, so I hope to share some pictures this weekend once I've given it a clean. I'll also dig out my other antique pieces that have cabs.

Keep the photos coming please! :kiss2:

Fun fact: dumortierite it's almost never cab grade or even remotely transparent, so this cab is even more special!

I love cabs as well :-) In addition to the paraiba cab in my avatar picture, I have this lovely moonstone cab courtesy of DanielB.

This is half a trapiche emerald, with the axis set E-W. The black horizontal line is a segment wall. I love the soft velvety glow.

Opal is notoriously difficult to accurately photograph, but your ring still looks absolutely beautiful. I especially love the multicolor accent stones. I'm going to guess sapphires, spinels, or tourmalines?
Thank you

Yes they are saphires :kiss2:
They remind me of Cinderella's coach
it was a gift from @Bron357
Maybe she will show us her earings that match
She's much better at taking photos than me

My only cabochon piece.

A sugarloaf and a carved sapphire are definitely on my ‘want’ list

The black opal is blowing my mind and the sky-blue opals against that rich yellow gold... PERFECTION! So gorgeous

Thank you so much!

Oh my!!
@canuk-gal are those earrings Temple StClair????
Just gorgeous!

No, they were handmade by my favorite local bench. They are wonderful and the pictures do not them justice.

Your TSC necklace is gorgeous!

Wow @icy_jade what a wonderful collection.
Your amazing Peruvian opal, black opal and moonstone are especially interesting in the different light sources.
Real show-offs for sure.!

@icy_jade That navette/marquise jadeite ring will forever be one of my PS favorites. It has such a calming presence.

I only have two. An Australian Pipe Opal that I purchased from the lovely @Morenita21, and a tourmaline cab that has a ton of inclusions, but I love it. (Please forgive my grotty hands.)

So happy to see the pipe Opal again!!! Beautiful rings!
