Sooooo turns out that while I like the look of the asymmetrical chain, it was a bit too heavy and swingy and annoying to wear.

Decided to restring the akoyas with some 24k gold beads and black spinel beads and some 5mm seed pearls I got from wen pearls (they’re mediocre but in the back so you can’t really see them). Made a choker which so far I’m finding much comfier.

As for the long chain, I think I’ll just make it a simple tin cup with 7-8
Circle Tahitians and call it a day!

Haha I had a day of all meetings that didn’t really relate to me so I turned off camera and did this...


For anyone curious about the wen seed pearls, I ordered the 5-5.5mm.
They are ok. Some are great and some are meh, not very uniform in luster or drilling or sizes.

i think i took a look at that place the other day
the price looked ok (i have no idea what is good and what isnt - sometimes it just converts to NZ$$ to a price that is just too scary)

do you buy like 500 at a time?

This is a really fun look too! I love the pendant as a brooch as well.

Thanks! I actually wear it more often as a brooch at work since I have to wear an ID lanyard.

Just for completion, here’s the chain now with just circles. Hopefully the
Final form but who knows. I’m so all over!

Oh I love the double strand look like this with the choker length and and long chain.

Thanks! I debated between using Tahitians instead of gold beads since the gold beads have giaaaaaant holes (they were originally made to be on a woven bracelet) which is why they’re flanked by spinel beads. But I think I like the look of the gold beads more. And I didn’t want to seem too matchy match haha

You can actually by them in pretty small amounts if you want! I got 20 but you can go as low as units of 5.

It's so versatile! Event the cat looks good. I just love the green MOP motif you chose to go with. It just plays off the natural characteristic of the pearl and the rose gold ties it all together. If you ever get bored of it, just let me know.

I went with 0.8mm holes. I can’t wait to see what you make!
