Dee Jay, your glass sets are so pretty. Thank you for sharing them with us. My sister did something similar with my late great aunt's collection (she passed last fall at the ripe old age of 99). She set up a whole NYE party for one using all my aunt's vintage glassware (most from the 30s-50s). It was beautiful. Thank you again for sharing.

And tomorrow here in the UK we are having a national holiday, to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. At 3pm, the whole nation is expected to head into their front gardens & raise a toast from their lawns with their neighbours. So that'll be the rest of my day written off....

DH disappeared during kids' bedtime while I was helping them wash up, thought it was the best time to go buy cigarettes. So as you can imagine I'm a bit peeved and instead of getting both of our nightly glasses of wine, I'm drinking alone because he can go fetch his own damn drink.

For many years, my wife and I have enjoyed sitting on the front porch and having a "Sit and Sip" in the evenings when the temperature is right. This was the view a couple of weeks ago, when the rain was falling in the early morning.
In the early evenings on a nice day there will be couples and families walking together, often with dogs to whom we call out with a friendly, "Hey neighbor." In normal times many of them will end up on the porch with us once or twice in Spring or Fall when the temperature is just right to share a drink before dinner.
