The Forum Engagement Ring Folder/Eye Candy

Because I've received so many great tips from others on this forum, I decided I had to give back and let everyone know about my new setting created for me by the great Steven Kirsch.

First of all, Steven was truly a pleasure to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and of course, quite charming! I went in looking for a halo for my round 1.56carat diamond similar to what others have had done on this forum. When I actually went a second time to drop off my ring, I had changed my mind and wanted a more complicated design. I discussed my changes with Steven, who instead of getting annoyed by my changes, was very excited about them! For about an hour, we discussed in detail exactly what he could do. Basically, I asked for petals (made of marquis diamonds) to be incorporated into the design and that would visible from the side. Steven went one step further and said he would outline the marquis petals with melee!

The final product is a work of art--it is so perfect!

I would highly recommend Steven Kirsch to anyone looking for something that only an artist and master craftsman can create!https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-steven-kirsch-creation.164351/

My stepmom was cleaning out her jewellery box recently and decided that this should live with me!

This belonged to my paternal great (-great?)-grandmother. She loved bling and sparkle, irrefutable evidence that this illness is genetic! The pendant is silver and the diamonds are not very good, some have eye-visible flaws and some are blindingly white while others are a bit brown. They're all a mixmatch of cuts - some are rose cuts, some omc and others oec - so my stepmom suspects that the pendant is an amalgamation of several pieces of jewellery.

I love it even because of the story behind it but I am not sure if I will ever wear it. It's quite large and looks rather like costume jewellery.

It's been a loooong time since I posted. Boy have I missed this forum! I've have a few resets and wanted to come back to share them.

Necklace, reset #1: my grandmother'.../palladium-platinum-in-grandmas-rings.108458/ . Specs: SI1, I color, .53 carat.

Earrings, reset #2: 15 year-old diamond studs that used to be in a regular prong setting, along with a couple of loose diamonds I had from taking apart an old necklace. Specs: VS2, H color, .2/.15 for big/small rounds (I think?).

My fiance proposed on the beach at Carmel during sunset. It was very romantic because we went to that same beach and watched the sunset 10 years ago when we first started dating. Then afterwards we had dinner at the same little French restaurant he took me to 10 years ago too.

Our ring is from BGD. The diamond is AGS0 1.2ct I/SI1 (eyeclean). The setting is their collaborative H. Levi Royal Charm in platinum. I have only had it for a week and I've already received so many compliments about how sparkly it is! We couldn't be happier!

Denise at BGD, btw, is awesome! Brian was also very helpful in taking the time to explain all the inclusions in our stone. If you saw the inclusion plot, you would probably be horrified...but it is absolutely eyeclean...exactly as Brian stated! Thank you PS crew for helping us get the best value for our money. In return...here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

I just realised I had a folder full of photos I can share with this forum! This is not my engagement ring - it belongs to my soon-to-be sister in law. Shopping for this ring with my younger brother was one of the most special and touching experiences of my life. He surprised her on her birthday and she said yes! We're so lucky to have her in our family.

On the funny side, we quickly adjusted our greeting to 'hi we're brother and sister' when in the jewelry store after a couple of staff assumed wrong. I personally love this ring - I took an interest in jewelry after being a hand model during the ring shopping. My brother made the perfect choice, it's a classic design, great quality, practical and totally suits his wife to be.

Details:
18k yellow gold with white gold prongs, 3 Emerald cut diamonds .38, 2 round diamonds .11. Diamonds total of 0.49. Stated as HI color and VS2 clarity.
The ring is a size 6.5

I snagged this pin from a vendor on RubyLane. They said it was an OEC but I've never seen an oval one before. They estimate that it's .85cts, M and I1. The pinstem is stamped BIRKS and 18k. The I1 is a fairly sizable carbon spot plus a few carbon specks. The big spot is readily apparent in pictures and through the loup but fortunately my eyesight is crap and I can't easily see them. The stone fluoresces yellow a bit so it looks pretty yellow in the sun.

I've been a lurker on Pricescope for awhile but I wanted to break the ice with my first post showcasing my beautiful asscher engagement ring. My fiance (!!!) just proposed to me this past Friday, August 12th. I can't stop looking at it...will I ever??

Diamond Specs:
1.75 carat, J color, VS1, very good cut

Setting:
Platinum, size 6, 0.17 carats

It's a cathedral setting and the band is super thin so it really makes the asscher the star. SO in love with it!!

So when I got engaged, we didn't have cool forums like this to post on

The "under 1 ct" thread inspired me to take the first ever vanity shots of my engagement. We were engaged in '95 and got married in '96 (don't I feel old??)

The diamond stats are unfortunately lost in the mists of time. I remember something about the girdle being thick, but polished. The carat weight is somewhere in the vicinity of 0.7. And it's set in a platinum, tiffany-style size 3 ring. Never been polished, so that gives you an idea how platinum wears (pretty well, in my opinion!)

Trying to get past the stuff on the right so the image are larger...

Most of the long term PS folks know that I am a neurotic headcase and that I carry a 30x loupe and
all that jazz. You will all be pleased to know that I only a few times a week after cleanings (OR after a
whack), and I wear them almost every single day, obviously not to sleep, shower, cook, work hard or
whatever…but I have mellowed. A bit.

If you have not seen this thread, here is a refresher, sorta, on my bling. (many thanks to Tacori, btw!)

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-friends-upgrade-from-gog.127588/

The short version is that my rings got stolen along with my purse almost exactly two years ago, at the
gym because I am a gigantic airhead. I had my massive meltdown on the gym parking lot, and in the
police car they let me sit in to call insurance and all that in since it was air conditioned, but with all
the drama surrounding them, it was probably good that that karma was taken away. I do miss that
diamond…so ... much. I have yet to track it down though at any pawn shops. So I hope it’s new owner
loves it.

My insurance helped me replace it with a slightly bigger and better Star129 (I got the 1.13 discussed in
that thread and returned it, and passed on the 1.18 that is also mentioned), which is now set in a Vatche
Royal Crown. I have to thank David Kodner here in STL for his help with the Vatche. He really helped with the ordeal that became of it, and Mr. Vatche himself made it. I had a Signed Pieces Raphael band
that I also repurchased a replacement of after the theft, and recently had it reset, though after a few
attempts, it still wasn't quite what I was looking for, mostly bec the stones in the raphael were just too
big to me (5pts ea) and took too much away from the solitaire for my liking. So David Kodner and I worked
out a trade for a Martin Flyer band that was much thinner with 1.5pt stones.

So...that's a lot of hot air I just blew out, and I know you all just want pics! And I noticed when lurking
that there is or was a poster recently who also had a Star from GOG, and I hope she (I assume it was a
she?) comes back again to show it off more. I think the specs were similar to mine.

Specs:

1.15 H VS1 Star129 stone, purchased from GOG set in a Platinum Vatche Royal Crown, handmade by Mr.
Vatche himself (no, seriously! I haz the proof!). Width is 2.3mm.

OLD BAND is my facets diamonds 5pts each, 10 stones, set in plat. I traded that for the
NEW BAND (as of today!) is a Martin Flyer micropave band, 1.9mm wide, with 15 1.5pt stones

Plain band is 2mm (I think it's actually 2.1) Stuller, the only remaining item from WF that I own.

next up is my 3 stone ring, which my then fiance now husband gave to me when we became "offically" engaged ie when we announced our engagement to family/friends. In our culture, it is customary to give the bride a gift, and I got to choose mine. So I had both a surprise engagement ring, and another I chose so win win I say

Centre stone 2.58 carat J SI2

Side stones ~ 0.4 carat each J VS2

All stones set as low as possible in an unplated white gold setting by BGD. Shank width is 2mm

Special thanks to yssie for the inspiration for this ring

My husband and I were married in June but I am just getting around to posting pics now. Mine is the 2.3mm channel-set band from Facets in 18k white gold, F-G color, VS-VVS clarity, size 4. I had them customize it to a 3/4 eternity in case it ever has to be sized. It does spin and yes, its annoying. I almost wish I would have just went with the full eternity but oh well. I have to add that the customer service at Facets can not be beat. Leah was such a pleasure to communicate with during the purchase process. I must have asked 100 questions and she was always friendly and replied quickly.

My husband's band is this one from Topper: http://www.topperjewelers.com/jewelry/art_carved/mens_11-WV7368 We live in MI but purchased the ring through them because of the price ($580 versus $975 + tax here). We ordered his in Palladium, size 9. He is very simple but wanted something with a little more detail than a plain band and this is perfect on him.

Now, on to pictures! First are some pics I took with my iPhone of both of our rings (sorry the photo quality is so crappy!):

I am soooo slow at getting pics posted, all of these rings were purchased/received last year. Better late than never though!

I purchased the OMC ring on eBay. My husband says it looks like a bicycle wheel so now that is what I think of every time I look at it so I'll probably re-set the diamond in something else (maybe a pendant?). I can't remember the exact carat weight of the center stone but it was somewhere around .25 - .30 ct, around 4mm. The color was listed as G (I would say its probably an H) and the clarity was listed as VS2 which I think is pretty accurate. The ring is 14K white gold and is a size 4.25.

I also wanted to share some pics of my pink stack. The tightly woven rope band is from Sally at HeartofWater and its my favorite of the bunch. The other rope band is the same as Haven's (I forget the Etsy seller). The hammered bands are from SecretCharm and the polished plain band was a gift from my husband. And now for pictures!

My fiance and I got engaged last weekend after many years together (long story short: 3 years together, 4 apart, 4.5 back together now).
It was perfect. We took a helicopter from Manhattan for what I thought was just a fun weekend getaway to Atlantic City. The pilot took us around Manhattan first and while over Central Park, he proposed! We had a blast and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect proposal.

I forget what the cert. said, except that the center is 2.62 carats, color is E, each side is .8 carats. Get ready for lots of pics!

So I traded in my ACA's from WF (.81ctw) along with a larger, lesser quality pair of diamond studs for a pair of 1.42 ctw studs from one of my new favorite jewelers in Florida. These new studs give my ACA's a run for the $ and then some. Totally eye clean and very loupe clean SI1's to VS2 (maybe better!) G, H 5.5mm and one was 5.7mm. I can totally see the arrows in them. They are beautifully cut and what I love about this transactions is that the jeweler gave me full price of what I paid for my ACA's and the other studs and I didn't have to pay a dime more! I wear my diamond studs more than any piece of jewelry I own and have been wanting to upgrade for quite some time but I would have broken the bank otherwise in doing so!

I posted these in the pear clubs thread and I was requested to start my own. These are handmade, 18kyg with 18wg around the .52ctw pears that where provided by me. So glad I had them sitting in my jewelry box waiting to be adorned. They turned out perfect. The details, craftmanship on these are sheer artistry. Scott Schreiber is truly a talented jewelery designer.

Well ladies...he popped the question on Friday so of course I said "yes"!
The ring was FAR more beautiful than I even thought it would turn out. It is SO sparkly and the sapphire has such life in different lights.

I got engaged early July with my beautiful BGD halo e-ring. However, there was a mistake made in the setting of the rubies that I had to have changed. BGD was happy to correct the mistake and it was done in a matter of days. My computer has been acting up (must be the Texas heat!) so I haven't been able to upload my pictures until now.
The BGD e-ring is a 1.261c J SI2 AGS 000 set in a platinum halo. The "promise" ring is a .25c set in white gold from a maul store.
