The giant rings thread... for lovers of big CS rings

@AV_ , it weighs 18g, is really too heavy for any of my small fingers - it spins! Moreover I find its 4 claws very annoying looking, lol

A ring that large could still be made to not spin www , www , but the weight must already be mostly in the coral. I'd probably have the simplest setting - perhaps having the thing partially drilled after all & fiddle with it as a toy; the red ball looks improbable & playful anyway! The size is rare.

Lovely rings everyone!
Here are my two precariously balanced on a carnation.
No rings were harmed in the taking of this photo.. whew!

At some point, I’m going to set this 9 carat Nigerian deep blue aquamarine, but here it is sitting atop an empty setting that it doesn’t fit. I think it will be another honker. B2D4CC49-1F8F-402A-BC19-94882E145075.jpeg

Left to right: topaz, Mexican opal (thanks to halo), purple jadeite, mahenge spinel, yellow tourmaline, icy jadeite, Peruvian opal

They provide full or nearly full finger coverage...

@icy_jade would you mind sharing the name of the cut of your topaz ring? It reminds me of a similar ring I have been covetting for many years (DH is immune to my hints and I'm not brave enough to go into the shop (it's ££££y).

But the stone... it makes me think of captain Jean Luke Piccard of the USS Enterprise when he says "make it so" and then the stars on the viewing monitors go funny as they enter warp drive. (Ok, I'll be quiet now.)

Oh of course I don’t mind. And your description is extremely apt as it’s cut in Starbrite cut by John Dyer.

More pics here:

And link to John Dyer’s site:

Pls keep us posted if you get something ok?

Sometimes I don’t love the color and inclusions of this. Then I remember it’s untreated and came out of the ground this color and fall in love again.

Rubellite tourmaline from mastercutgems, 7.95 carats. It’s not a super honker, but I don’t think I can wear rings larger than this. :???:

Your finger is only so wide, so I agree with you. It looks heavy enough as is, and is definitely on a honker scale for your slim fingers.

<3 this photo. Does that mean you were able to balance the rings on the carnation in just one try? :P2

Whoops! Forgot about these whoppers.. they are my moms. =)2

I love the settings here! Well suited to the stones, and the left one looks unique.

I have no words for the collections of @T L, @missy or @icy_jade...except, maybe, that those honkers look beautiful enough to be celebrity rings. Just a few of those (or perhaps just the single opal) would probably be valued at more than the entirety of my collection.

I wonder why @Bluegemz or @elle_71125 haven't posted here yet. I'm sure they have some ;)2

I don’t have any rings that would be considered giant so I’ve just been admiring all the gorgeous ones posted here.

The largest ring I have is Big Blue. He’s not as big as many of the rings here but he is quite substantial on my size 4.75 finger.

@voce I agree! Your collection is TDF gorgeous and swoon worthy in every way! You are way too modest. LOVE all your pieces.

My heart!!! 23mm at the widest point and I thought it would be way too big but now I'm used to it so it's just right!

Not too wide at all. It's just right! Heartlicious and heartfully beautiful. I heart it!

Aww thank you! I do love heart shapes so much!

This one was fate. I turned on Livestream and it was right there, big and green enough for me.

I've seen a few here and there but nothing big enough or green enough so I feel very lucky to have nabbed this one.

Hi @voce , I have been MIA for a few weeks but trying to be back now. I’ll try to post up my biggest rings today. Love the large rings. Keep posting!

My all time favorite is my 1920’s Art Deco, platinum 34 carat star sapphire ring. I just love the style of this piece, and of course, the size and the presence all together.

Bluelicious!!! LOVE. :kiss2:

My next fav in terms of stars is this 18.81 star ... it is massive still because of the solid, heavy gold setting which I adore, and a high dome.
here it is and together with the other. All reposts because I have no time these days.

Ok, my next big ring is my Vonsen’s Blue nephrite and yellow/champagne diamond gold snake ring ...a custom piece. Personal and full of symbolism about my relationship with my husband.

This is a large black opal with mostly only blue and a green flash in silver. It is dark, mysterious, big and beautiful!

Finally, though I have other large rings, I’m pretty sure that this one may be one of the largest on PS lol! My daughter calls it “ the log”. It is an antique Zuni ring. 803B39C7-D3B4-48B0-978B-417E1C118895.jpeg

Thank you, @T L ! Yours too. Your aquas and opals!
Thank you @missy !

@Bluegemz , I never get tired of seeing pieces from your awesome collection, especially those delicious stars!!!
