I''d say 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure.

I think that the only way we''d have actual from-our-DNA kids, is if there was an accident. As I''ve mentioned elsewhere, FI has these things going against him (health related):
1. Congenital heart defect (*fixed* 3 years ago, but will have to undergo said surgery again in ten years, and every 10-15 years after that)
2. Heart disease from his mom
3. Cancer from his mom
4. Diabetes from his mom

Seeing FI after his surgery, 3 months into our relationship was probably one of the worst things ever. His sternum was sawed in half, he couldn''t breathe on his own, he couldn''t move, he couldn''t eat, etc etc etc. Even after getting out of the hospital, he couldn''t lift things over ten pounds, he can''t lift weights in certain ways for fear of ripping apart his sternum on accident. Three years after that, he can hardly remember it--and he''s lucky because I remember it vividly.

He would NEVER want to put a kid through what he went through. And then he has to do it AGAIN for the rest of his life?! And even the smallest risk of that defect, or what his mom had, which led to a full heart transplant...no go right there. That''s not even getting into 2, 3, and 4.

As for my health history...it''s unknown because I''m adopted.

So if we were to have kids, they would be adopted for not only the reasons listed above, but also social responsibility and other things I can''t think of at the moment...

That makes sense.

That is definitely a lot of risk! I can''t believe what he/you went through! Scary, scary stuff.. and I can only imagine how tough it would be for you guys as parents to have to go through that with a child. The guilt/fright/anxiety that you''d be dealing with if your kid did end up with that issue... yeesh.

It''s good that you''d consider adoption if you did decide you wanted kids.

FF never wanted kids until he met me. Now he''s dying for them... well.. in a "I can''t wait to have kids with you" way.. not "Throw out your pills and let me knock you up right now" kind of way.

so to recap - those who all have lost the "feeling" - i am right there with you. but to me, its not BC (although the pain thing TOTALLY makes sense now). I just... don't want it. but maybe taking for VitD will help?

Freke - I understand your concern - we have a lot of that running in our family too.

Ok, I need to vent for a second. Don''t mind me.

How is it that USPS delivered my engagement party invites already and I mailed them YESTERDAY (after 4pm!), but that my package is still missing after I mailed it out May 13th?!?!?!?!

Tidbit of advice for the day (courtesy of my customer):

Save sex for marriage. That way you don''t know what bad sex is like. And if you do have bad sex, you have nothing to compare it to.

And then they wonder why they don''t make enough money and have to raise the price of stamps every two weeks.

Annoying.

I do NOT trust the USPS!

I just wrote out my MS Outlook Out-of-Office auto assistant message.

I''d like it to say:

"Elle will be out of the office on Friday, June 5. SO F OFF!"

Man I wish I could write that. I wonder if anyone would even notice.

Man, I missed out on all the fun today!

I find that my sex drive is inversely proportional to my stress level, which sucks because I''ve been working so much that I''m stressed out all the time.

Unlike K--he could go 3 times a day, every day. Easy. His ideal is probably twice a day and if he doesn''t get SOMETHING once a day, he gets antsy.

Man, you ladies can sure talk up a storm

I''ve been on BC for over a year now and every couple of months a new side-effect comes along- not fun at all. Luckily my SD hasn''t been affected at all nor is it affected by stress
1.gif
They should design BC for men and their SD will go down and then we can get antsy and bug them
11.gif

I hate the postal service here i constantly have subscription letters and payments magically disappear. Thank goodness for internet banking etc.

Princesss, I forget, how long have you had Mirena?

I just hit the 6 month mark, and I am starting to hate it I think
15.gif

Same "drive" effect as BC, more anxiety like on BC, and painful post-relations issues. Bad BAD PMS type symptoms.

This all JUST started happening, I think I just hit the point where the hormones are regular or whatever, because I stopped getting my period like they say happens after a few months. I am SO discouraged. It is seriously depressing. I hate fighting with my body! I don''t want kids for 3 more yearsish, and I am tired of hormones! I wish they would invent a male pill ASAP!

Liz, there was a really interesting article, I think in Marie Clare, about a woman who wanted her tubes tied and no doctors would do it because she was young and hadn''t had any kids! It was a really interesting read.

I got it placed in March. I''m waiting for my second period, and I''ve been cramping and craving like a champ lately, so I''m hoping it comes soon. Haven''t really had any other issues. I think the pain (for me) was more related to the condoms than the BCP. My doctor pretty much told me I need to have some kind of hormone because my body doesn''t naturally regulate the cycle, so my body is all kinds of whackadoo without them. My drive is slowly returning.

If you like the IUD and don''t want hormones, there''s one without them. Did your gyno discourage that one for any particular reason? Mine said I probably have mild PCOS, so I need something with hormones to do what my body should naturally. Otherwise I would have sworn them off for good.
