YAY Elle! I expect pictures. Lots and lots and lots of pictures.
Not all places let you take them.

Otherwise I''d be certain to. My mom wants pictures too (since she cant make it, and she''s sad), but they can be weird about it.

elle- thank you thank you thank you- speaking from everyone IN the service industry... we were talking at work the other day about how once a person turns 16 or 18 or whatever, there should be a job requirement where EVERY person has to be a server for a year- they would learn ALOT.

Thanks for your sympathies, jcarlylew and stepcut girl. It was just one of the most awful days ever, but having people agree that people ARE, in fact, d*cks, helps lol
You ladies are all great

yay!!! i want pictures too!!

rugger - Sorry you had such a crappy day. I hate poor tippers and I''ve never been in the service industry myself. I usually tip 20-25% or more for good-great service and no less than 10%, but I have only done that once with tremendously horrible service. Even bad service I usually go no lower than 15%. It''s tough work and I appreciate it!

Thanks, Patiently_Waiting- and let me tell you, us servers ALWAYS appreciate a good tipper- and you''re the kind of people who we really mean it when we tell you to "come back and visit us again soon". Chances are if you''re a good tipper, you were also patient and fun and just a considerate table. Many diners seem to forget that their servers have more than just them to serve, and in all actuality are trying to serve any where from 3-8 tables, make sure all orders get in on time, check up on food, make salads, fill refills, AND do designated side work (making sure the back of the house has enough butter, or restocking cups, or getting enough dressing from the back, etc).
So, from the service side, we thank you

FI worked in restaurants for years, so he always tips well unless I''m signing. LOL, in which case he makes sure I tip well.

People are stingy. Jerks.

Elle, give ''em a sob story about your mom not being able to be here. Tell them she''s sick in the hospital or something.
31.gif
I''d llike to see them try to say no to pics then.

Jcar...so jealous. How exciting!!!

Holy crap folks, I met with a photog about doing boudoir pics yesterday. I wanna do it sooooo bad but it''s soooo much money!

Rugger, I''m sorry you had bad customers. My parents are kind of bad customers sometimes (as soon as one thing goes wrong/not the way they want they''re a little, ummmm...not fun) and it''s SO embarassing. I usually try to compensate for it, but it sucks to be at the same table sometimes. I have waited tables, and BF waits tables at a country club right now, and it sucks. Big time.

Elle, I know a lot of places don''t let you take pictures, but can you try the "My mom can''t be here and we''re trying to throw this wedding together quickly and and and and" sad bride who can''t have her mommy there act? Go for sympathy over the "your policy sucks" act and I predict a high chance of success.

LOL.

I can try the whole mommy-lives-2000-miles-away thing, but I can't lie and say she's in the hospital.

Seems like a bad idea to lie about your mom being sick while you're planning your wedding. I refuse to lie... I feel SO guilty for doing it. FF makes fun of me all the time for it.

edited to correct my stupid english.

Definitely try the "My mom lives 2000 miles away" line. My parents live on a different continent, so I have a feeling that when I get engaged I''m going to have to call around and ask, because I refuse to pay money to any place that would keep me from sharing that with my mother SOMEHOW. Webcam, pictures, they should work with you SOMEHOW.

okay my lovies!
i am trying to jet outta here!

of course i am sure at the airport i''ll be bored and check in!!

later gators!!

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

So I got laid off this morning. Lame.

On the plus side, no more 70 hour weeks without getting overtime pay.

Ugh... sorry LP.

That is really lame.

But yeah, you were working your bum off! Crazy hours! Maybe you can chill out a bit now.

Yeah, the grant funding for my position got cut.
7.gif
At least we have plenty of savings--otherwise I''d be a lot more worried about it.

Yeah, you didn''t seem too broken up about it.

That''s good at least. And now you won''t be traveling when you''re supposed to be moving into your beautiful house!

Ug, sorry to hear LP, but that job was giving you STRESS! So I''m kinda happy that you get to enjoy your new home and new fiances for a bit. Gives you an opportunity to find something better anyway!
