I''m here....kind of. Whatcha up to?

Wasting time at work.

You?

Counting down until I go to VA.

Thank goodness for one of my coworkers. I asked a friend (well...maybe a "friend"), C, to watch them. She was supposed to come over last night to see where I keep all of the stuff. She said she''d call when she got off of work (around 8:30). Around 9:45 I call her and she says, "Well, I called L when I got off work and she said I should come out for P''s birthday dinner, so I''m up in NoDa, can I maybe swing by after dinner? Or maybe tomorrow?"

Ummm, if you can''t be bothered to come over on time when I''m THERE, how the heck can I trust you to come over when I''m not there to remind you? So I had to scramble since I''m leaving tonight, and my coworker agreed to take care of them. I don''t ask for much. Go, check to make sure they''re alive, and make sure they have food and water. But apparently that was too much to ask of C. I''ve been getting sick of her being so flaky, but this just capped it off. It''s so inconsiderate and rude. Maybe she''s never been in a situation where somebody was really relying on her to hold up her end of the deal, but that kind of immaturity really bugs me. Responsibility comes before fun.

Can you tell I''m still mad about it?

LOL. Just a tad.

Yeah, that''s kinda BS. Flaking out like that. I mean.. it''s not hard to cat-sit, but "showing up" is definitely a pre-req and it would have been nice if she could have atleast attempted to be responsible about it.
20.gif

Thats cool that your coworked stepped up for you. The kittehs will be take care of.

Exactly. But poor, sweet BF offered to bring the cats with us. He''s allergic, and he would have been sneezing the whole time. Plus the cats hate their carriers and hate car rides, so it would have been 5 hours of yowling. Added to that the fact that we''re bringing the puppy with us, and it would have been the single most hellish drive ever. 2 people, 2 cats, and a puppy in a ''99 Corolla? No thank you.

What are you up to this weekend? Other than dress shopping...

morning everyone!

Just thinking how lucky jcarly is today...off in paradise! It''s been raining here, LITERALLY, every single day this week!!! Mold is growing in the crevices
39.gif

LOL... yeah.. that would not have been a fun ride, Princesss!

Weekend plans: Red Wings game tonight, dress shopping/haircut/dinner with friends tomorrow... homework/laziness on Sunday.

Morning B!

We have some rain Saturday, but thats it I believe.

This week flew by.

Morning ladies.

So elle, what style dress do you think you want?

Strapless. Simple. No lace/beading or stuff like that.

Inexpensive.

I haven''t decided on cut yet. I''m not sure what would look best on me.

I prefer simple myself. Though lately I''ve been really attracted to the sleveless v neck all lace gowns with no train.

you''re going to look so beautiful! I still can''t believe you''re getting married in 4 months!

Elle, that''ll be gorgeous. Don''t forget about bridesmaids dresses. There was a wedding posted in BWW a while back where the bride did a lot of DIY and ordered a bridesmaids dress for her wedding dress. I think she said she got it long so they could make a small train.

*off to investigate*

Awwww... thanks guys!

I like the simple classic beauty stuff, I think it looks best on me.

I hope I can take pictures without a problem so I can show you guys what I find. I''ll keep the BM dresses in mind too! Good suggestion, P!

Wow! Her wedding was beautiful!

I''ll hang out here today!

From what I''ve seen I think you should totally leave yourself open to a fit n flare dress (think modified mermaid, a nice gentle hugging but not so tight you can''t walk) but really, you''ll look great in anything!

Jim Hjelm makes a good amount of really beautiful dresses that can totally double as a wedding dress like princesss suggested. I was considering that at one point before I realized Jim Hjelm dresses didn''t really fit me well in the bust. They are beautiful though!

Dude. MMM''s wedding was awesome. I remember looking at those.

Her wedding reminded me of the fact that even though our wedding is non-religious, my mom *insists* that J step down on the glass and break it. I guess we''ll have some Jewish and Catholic cultural elements in the wedding to represent my parents and his.

Should be fun.

Awww, you''re sweet for saying that!

I just really need something that doesn''t draw too much attention to my bum/hips. I''d rather pull the eye up because I happen to enjoy my arms/neck/shoulders/cleavage area. I like my ta-tas.

Not so much the big ole booty. That''s pretty easy to skim over though, right? Hehe.

I''ll look into the Jim Hjelm dresses! I know his bridal stuff is out of my price range... but maybe regular dresses would fit.

This isnt super formal. Jim is wearing a suit, not a tux, so it can be a pretty laid-back dress. But still bridal looking.

I can understand. I never though I''d go for a fit n flare dress but I did leave myself open to any option except for pick-ups when I went to the salons.

I agree that JH dresses are super expensive but I''ll go dig around the BM dresses and see whats up. I am going to go through serious withdrawal with my RL friends all finish getting married. Thank GOD for PS friends and perpetual wedding planning here!

Hmm... I''m checking out JH right now and the BM dresses definitely have lots of options....

My favorite was the 2nd dress. Does that indicate to you just how simple my style really is?
3.gif

I wish I was as thin as that model. My goodness!

I do like the 3rd one, because I really like the pleating on top, but not necessarily that style of pleating.

That dress has so much potential to make it your own. I love how they offer it in ivory AND white (snowdrop). The scoop neckline works well with a bigger chest too, IMO (esp since my dress has that same neckline!).

MAN I have a lot to think about.

Small Talk has gone dark!

Where is everyone? Sorry for the dress threadjack. Come back! I promise I''ll be good!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

(just kidding!)

My week has finally started to slow down, but for some reason I don''t have a lot to contribute to PS...wonder why? Those dresses are really lovely. I too like the 2nd option. Classic and simple.

I''m here. Poor, elle, all alone without jcar!

Sad day. I had hope for bpics with one photog, but she''s completely booked all summer and moving to Boston in the fall. Poop!!! She was the cheapest one!
