Morning!
35.gif

How was your weekend? Did you enjoy your time with your dad?
Yes, ma''am, I did.

I got the first coat of paint on my sister''s room done. I''m doing the second coat today and touch ups on Wednesday. It took me three hours to paint that stupid room.

Also, I called the girl that I got mad at before I went to VA. I felt bad leaving things on a super negative note. Plus, it really sucks having no friends. I want to get out and do things with people every now and then. I just can''t rely on her.

I found out that one of my friends broke up with her boyfriend.
7.gif
Poor thing. Sucks when that happens. I feel terrible for her, but at the same time she wasn''t exactly the world''s best GF. So I''m hoping this just ends up being one of those things that makes her stronger.

Morning ladies!!!

Morning, everyone. Hope you all had enjoyable weekends.

Sounds like you had a productive weekend, princesss... I will feel your painting-pain soon. BF and I need to paint the kitchen and all the baseboards over the next few days. While I am excited at the new colors and the thought of the room being fresh and new, I am not terribly pumped at the thought of going home from work and doing, well, more work!

Isn''t that the truth! I like to relax when I get home. Seems like I don''t get to do that much anymore. Cause when I get home I have to make dinner...that isn''t relaxing. Sometime between dinner and cleaning up the kitchen is when I relax. Oh boy.

So... I have a totally random question. I''m wondering if this happens to anyone else.

I made an appointment to get my hair cut and highlighted a week from Friday. The week or to prior to me booking this appointment, my hair was out of control - it was frizzy, unmanageable... just was looking kind of ragged. So I book the appointment.

Now, since I''ve scheduled it, my hair is looking absolutely phenomenal! Today, my curls are perfect, frizzless little ringlets. And it''s been like that since the day I called for my appointment!

This seems to always happen to me - as soon as I decide to get my hair done, it starts looking awesome again - to the point where I don''t want to get it cut anymore.

No not really. I''ve got an appointment this Saturday to get mine cut. The right side on the ends keeps flipping "out" when I curl it "in" and it''s driving me mad. I think my hair has been doing this since it was cut last time however. So I don''t know if she did it differently or what!!! Plus I''ve got long sideswept bangs right now and I plan on cutting them even shorter. Think Katie Holmes bangs. Not the rest of her hair, just the bangs...

That is, unless I back out and don''t do it at the last minute. Cause it takes a long time to grow something like that out. EEK!

Go for the bangs!! Do it!

I so wish I could pull off bangs - they are sooo cute. But I have a small forehead, so I feel like bangs end up shrinking my face up. I did longer, sideswept bangs for a short while, but I usually just ended up tucking them behind my ear, so the whole effect was lost.

Ugh, that reminds me that I need a haircut. I have had such bad luck with the last few salons I''ve tried, and next time I''ll be trying out yet another one. All I need is for them to trim my ends a bit, and the last few times, this has translated to "chop off many inches" or "add bangs" or "add layers."
20.gif

I''m growing my hair out some. I want it just a little longer than shoulder length. I''ve still got a ways to go yet. As far as the bangs, I usually cut some bangs- hate them, grow them out- hate that, cut some bangs.....on and on

So the last couple of times I''ve done the long sideswept bangs but you can hardly tell cause they come below my cheekbone. Almost to my jaw. Now I''m thinking eyebrow length...Hmmm

Morning, Ladies!

I haven''t had "REAL" bangs (eyebrow lengthish or higher) in 10+ years, I''m considering them, and I''m terrified...it''s just so hard with curly hair!

I certainly wont want mine straight down Heidi Klum in my face but rather swept to the side. I''ve got incredibly straight hair
20.gif
Do you all think eyebrow length side bangs would make me look younger? Because I need to look my age and people already think I''m much younger than what I am.

Hmm... tough call. They *might* make you look younger. It''s hard to know w/out seeing you and your actual hair, but I tend to think that blunt-cut bangs usually look youthful, but face-framing bangs don''t appear quite as youthful.

There is a photo of me in this thread oh-so many pages back. Or another couple in my who''s who thread too.

I love my bangs! I have asymmetrical bangs that kind of sweep down my forehead. I''ve got a LARGE forehead (at least I think so) and I like having something there to hide it and make my face look smaller.

I actually have to call and make an appointment with my stylist. Well, 3 appointments. One for me, one for my mom, and one for my sister. I''m trying to grow my hair out from a pixie to a bob, and it''s going to be a pain in the you-know-what.

HEY!

I was just thinking that we haven''t seen SailorsSweet since April. Where''d she go?

OK - I just checked you out.

You are adorable!!

I think you''d look great with bangs, and I don''t think they''d make you look younger. I think they''d be quite flattering on you.

That is not a bad problem to have, DG!!

But no - I actually think it'll be a really modern, professional look on you. You'll have to post some "after" pictures!

Are you enjoying painting? I always think I''ll like it, and after about 2 hours of taping molding, I HATE painting.

That sucks about your friend. Breakups are crappy and they hurt like hell. Hopefully she learns from that relationship. Most people do. Then she can find happiness in her next one!

I do like bangs on a lot of people. I had some side-swept bangs for a while, and I''m growing them out right now. I''m not sure how I want my hair to be for the wedding, so I''m just growing everything out and leaving my options open. I may go crazy and cut some serious bangage after the hitchin'' !

DGer (Deeger!) I think you''d like good with bangs, as long as they aren''t too heavy!

Yea, glad my project is done too...really glad. I''ve been so busy the last month or so, saying it''s been ROUGH is an understatement. But I can finally see the light at the end...4 more Saturdays to go and I have August OFF!!! Don''t go back till the second week in Sept. Much needed R&R.

I''ve missed you guys...chatting it up at work and all...

How''s the wedding stuff going?

I need to cut my hair SO bad. I have epics on Sunday and my hair just sucks. I''m torn on the bangs thing too. What to do?!

Wedding stuff is going OK. We''re trying to think of a honeymoon that would be fun for fall. We''re thinking a New England B&B crawl type thing... so I''m doing a bit of research into what can keep us occupied, and where we should stay.

Now that we have the big wedding stuff out of the way, we''re working on the details. Its keeping us/me busy. Sometimes I feel stressed about having the wedding so quickly (I''m still worried about the dress I bought) but I think it''s fun planning under pressure for the most part.

LOL! There used to be a commercial that had that phrase in it, whenever someone asks ''what are you wearing'' I have to say lipstick.

ANYHOO!

I got me some new 7s, though I don''t know if they fit right yet. My fave black shirt from Anthropologie and black heels. I need a second outfit though...Something not jeans. But that requires a purchase and my time is limited.

I've missed you too mama! Especially since you've gotten engaged. I was so looking forward to it and then I got so busy...but you were in my thoughts (I'm really so happy for you guys

If you need help with planning a NE B&B honeymoon (which will be GORGEOUS in October), I got you covered doll. I know all the great places to visit, so just let me know what you have in mind, and I'm your girl.

Can't wait to see that dress of yours!

hahaha. nice.

thats awesome you got some new jeans. i bought a new pair of joe''s jeans a few weeks ago but I have been steadily losing weight and I havent worn them yet so I may return them. maybe when my @$$ is smaller i can fit into a different brand. stupid butt of mine.
20.gif

i have my "nice" e-pic outfit picked out, but havent decided on a casual one yet. i''m wearing a black dress with white polka dots on it, likely a black cardigan if necessary, and red heels.

That sounds nice!

I'm having the same issue. They fit everywhere, but I can pull the waist out about 3 inches! I think I got a lil excited about finding nice jeans that weren't too long. Because apparently if you're a size 30 you have 5 foot long legs.
20.gif
And I hate belts. Arg.

ETA: Doy, congrats on losing weight too!
