I''m sorry he''s feeling upset but, honestly, the whole ''surprise'' thing would''ve added so much more stress to an already stressful situation, because you wouldn''t have the comfort you have of KNOWING it is coming soon, and he would''ve (probably) had second, third, fourth (etc) thoughts about the style of setting, which stone, and so on. I think it''ll work out for the best. And two months is nothing! Enjoy your last few weeks as a girlfriend before starting the next chapter of your life.Date: 6/23/2008 6:18:09 AM

sunnyd...congrats on the ''practice'' proposal. I''m not taking you off the list until the real one though!
I know what you mean to be upset on an occasion when you really think it is going to happen. My birthday was a few weeks ago and I really thought that it was going to happen then. I mean really thought it was going to happen not like the last couple years at every holiday where I thought it may happen.
FF had other plans for this summer and didn''t realize that it would take so long for us to get our dream ring. He is a little upset that he didn''t know how long it took. Apparently all his friends when to jewelers in the diamond district and had their rings in two weeks. Well, now, I have about 6-8 weeks to go until the ring is complete. I''m anxious partly because we should have been engaged earlier. He told me last night that we need to start looking more seriously at reception places because we are planning a wedding for September of 2009 and by the time we get the ring that will almost be a year away. Anyway, he''s kind of upset that I know everything about the ring and that I won''t be surprised. I keep telling him that I''d rather be surprised about the circumstances and focus on what he had to say to me anyway. That way neither of us has to be worried about wether or not I''ll like the ring.
This is what I''ve been doing to stay busy:Date: 6/23/2008 12:01:28 PM

And 2 months will be nothing! Just gotta stay busy... hmmm now what can we do to stay busy... LOL...
Thanks Gwen. These are all the things that I''ve been explaining to him. He just wishes it was a little different. I told him that he will have plenty of things to surprise me with when it comes to the actual wedding.Date: 6/24/2008 8:34:35 AM

This is what I''ve been doing to stay busy:
- Hanging out with my friends. (This is a hard one though because many of my friends moved out of NYC in recent years)
- Going to the gym and taking spinning classes (helps me de-stress)
- Working my but off so that I actually have some money to contribute to a wedding.
- Walking by the jewelers each day to stare at my setting in the window.
Thats pretty much it. We are going up north for 4th of july and I think that is when he was planning on proposing since all of my family will be there. Well, that isn''t the case now but I am going to do so much fun stuff that I hope it will keep my mind off it.
In the mean time, we have a wedding to attend this weekend and one of my best friends weddings in coming up in July. I''m in it and its on the cape in Mass and will be beautiful. Not sure what I am going to do for August yet.
Its going to be a fun summer regardless because I know that I am getting engaged. FF has requested that we start looking more seriously at reception locations so I imagine that we may already have a date and a place before we get engaged. I guess that is plenty to pass the time.
Big thanks to FrekeChild who is my super delegate. Yes, I''ve created a new role. The next person to take over the list can decide whether or not they want a super delegate or delete the position all together. Hope you all don''t mind. Anyway, Freke does list checks for me every month or so and that helps keep the list current so please post often. Here is the updated list. If you have under a 100 posts and don''t post in three months you will be taken off. If you have over 100 we will give you six months. Here is some fairy dust to those all on the list!
