We have tamales for Christmas - so, so yummy.

for dessert...we have flan, tres leches, cookies, and cake (usually rum or chocolate). Oh and lots of wine

Lefse is a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread. Tjukklefse or tykklefse (thick lefse) is thicker, and often served with coffee as a cake. Lefse is made out of potato, milk or cream (or sometimes lard) and flour, and cooked on a griddle. Special tools are available for lefse baking, including long wooden turning sticks and special rolling pins with deep grooves.

One of the contestants on "Chef Academy" (Bravo) made these a few weeks ago.

They are good. Too good. I usually pack away two (not small ones) and then I feel like I have lead in my stomach with all that starch. But hey, Christmas comes but once a year!

DH''s BSC SIL (how''s that for acronyms?) wrote me two emails yesterday - and the first one was mean and hostile and accusatory, so I ignored it. And then a few hours later she sent me one that was meant to appear nice, (I think?) but came across as odd and possibly sarcastic - in which she ''took back'' all the mean, angry things she said to me and ''apologized''.

I''m still not responding to her, because I think it''s a waste of time. But... I wonder which personality will come out next? I am really starting to think she has a serious psychological issue. She doesn''t seem to be in touch with reality... (And she''s taking it out on me!)

I don''t understand this crazy b****! Why is she writing you a mean email anyway? Big, tell her to STFU!!!!!!!!! And to leave you alone!

Or can I tell her at least?
