That''s awesome Bia!!!! One of my BFF''s takes salsa lessons with her bf and they love it.
I would love to learn how to dance like that. Too bad FI has no rhythm lol!
Yea, it should be fun. Funny, at the very least!

Ha!

YES we realize you PNW''ers would love NOTHING more than to not travel to the GTG!

OK, so this is random, but is kind of bugging me. K wants to lose weight, which is great, but it involves complaining about my cooking because it''s too rich. Part of me wants to say that if he wants to cook, he can go right ahead. Or at least tell me what he wants to eat. Also, if my cooking is too rich, why is it that I have not gained any weight?

I guess I''m just annoyed that I can''t eat what I want to because he wants to be on a diet. Gah.

Also, I think that my cooking has way less to do with him gaining weight than the fact that he eats bread like it''s going out of style and won''t do whole grain/wheat.

That would tick me off too... but I guess you have to be supportive of each other, right?

You, my dear, have not gained any weight because you are genetically blessed (or so it seems!)

Does he work out at all? Tell him to do that and if it doesnt help, you''ll *consider* changing your cooking.

I love that logic

I would say that to him, and see what he says, lol!

But on a serious note, the bread thing is major. Regular white bread has 120-130 cals for two slices, so if he''s eating 6-8 slices a day, that''s a huge waste of calories.

anything! Except jazz...how do you dance to that? I''m taking ballroom lessons with FI, bro and SIL starting in Feb

Cool! I did everything except pointe, which I''m really sad I didn''t do now, because ballet was my favorite class in college. Oh well. No ballroom for me either.

Jazz is like a cross between modern and hip hop. I like jazz fusion stuff more than pure jazz.

Elle--part of it may be genetics, but I also eat normal portion sizes. He''s working on working out. With the new year we''ve started going for a walk every day after dinner. It''s not super athletic, but it''s better than nothing. We also are going for hikes every weekend.

PP--He refuses to accept that bread is the problem. He doesn''t do sliced white bread, it''s Italian or French Bread usually, but still. He will go through almost a full loaf in one sitting. I''ve tried telling him that carbs make you gain weight more than actual fat does, but I don''t think it has sunk in.

LOL--awww. The salad and portion thing are AOK in my book--it's the whole "changing what we eat" thing that bugs me. I make almost everything from scratch and use very little processed food. To me, we do eat really healthy.

ETA: Also, even if he eats salad, he gets on me if I put feta cheese on it. It's like he doesn't want me to eat what I want because it will make him want it too. Have some self control, KWIM?

OMG, that's even worse than a bunch of sliced bread. A loaf probably has around 1,000 calories total. Holy smokes! I'd just throw away his bread stach

But, yeah, that much bread will pack on the pounds.

FI is like that with oreos. He literally eats 1/2 of the package in one sitting. It's disgusting that he can eat so much at once, lol!

We have a latin grocery store like 1/4 mile from my apartment. now I want to go buy one!

No fun plans for this weekend yet! We may have a *nice* dinner this weekend. We want to re-do our wedding dinner since neither of us ate!

Are you excited for your birthday tomorrow!? The big 2-8!!!
36.gif
eh...I am more excited about going to the theatre and dinner! lol

I was never big on birthdays. I get more into them now because FI''s family always made a HUGE deal out of birthdays. I like quiet birthdays, you know? Dinner, movies...

I am the type that would HATE a surprise birthday party.

VC: I think it''s so cool that you play V-Ball! I''m not that coordinated but people always thought I''d be good at it because I''m so tall
9.gif
Oh... so my big plans to fly to NY tomorrow and surprise you won''t work?

Exactly! Nothing is healthy if you triple the portions, you know? We eat really healthy too. Bread is healthy, but if you''re eating a whole loaf everyday, you''re gonna get fat. No two ways about it.

Oh no, no, NO! Just cause he''s dieting doesn''t mean you can''t eat well. He can have feta on his salad, just not the whole tub. Portion control man!
