What do you think if i did a navy bottom tier, a ivory tier, and alternate?

When you say navy, what do you mean? Like navy fondant?

So, not doing the alternate colors for the main color. i would have to use fondont and i dont like that stuff. So now it is just deciding on doing alternate width ribbons like the mini cakes...

You might try alternating stripe colors. Have one tier that is white with a navy stripe, one tier that is white with 2 navy stripes, a navy tier with a white stripe, etc.

Do you or the baker in Redmond have some sort of software that will give you an idea what different things would look like?

Yes. Basically you call the hotel with an estimate on the number of rooms you''ll need and you get a quote on the deal they can do for you. Make sure you ask what amenities are offered for the bride and groom when you do this. Get a few ''bids'' from area hotels (some have minimums or limits on the blocks, etc) and then make your decision. You''ll work with a sales person who will take your info and reserve the rooms. You''ll set a date to open the block to guests and close the block to guests (usually 1 month before the date). Make sure you call after the opening date to ensure they''re actually open and call periodically to see how they''re filling up. You can add rooms if you need them and you shouldn''t be responsible for the cost because anything not sold will be opened up to the public one month in advance.

Oh, and be sure to check in with random guests to see how their reservation experience went. I had some problems with mine (they randomly closed the block) and I wouldn''t have known if I hadn''t asked.

When I say a quote I mean what''s the rate they''re giving your guests and what are the extras they''ll offer you. Sometimes they''ll upgrade the B&G to a suite for free if you book with them or provide champagne and chocolate, etc.

Thanks for the info HH. This one hotel apparently wants one master bill for all the rooms!! WTD!?!??! I''m totally not down for having to collect money from people. It''s the Comfort Inn. I wanted to do a cheaper option for people. The one I want to stay at and would rather most of my guests stayed at with me (I''ll probably want to do the morning-after brunch there too) just quoted me 199/night. The Comfort Inn is $119/night. Is the one hotel ok or should I do both? Or should whoever needs a cheaper one just do it on their own?

WTF is the CI thinking? HDG, how many rooms do you need? Will the good hotel meet that as your minimum? As in, can they guarantee you 20 rooms if you need 20 rooms? Eff the comfort inn.
