I''m a TTC lurker, as we''re not ready yet, but today marks the 40th day of my cycle and well...I''m a bit freaked that we might have a whoopsie baby!

I took a test yesterday in the afternoon and it was negative, but the test itself was strange. It was a Target brand, regular old + or - test, and when I opened it, the - was already visible. Is that normal? It seemed odd to me. The control line showed up after I peed on it and it remained - but I''m not convinced. Anyone have experience with this? TIA!

So, I am officially through one cycle post-birth control and I am not a jerk store, lol

. However, with the onset of AF last night/this morning, I remember why I loved being on BC the past 10 years. She is quite a PITA! Cramps gallore and I feel like all the energy has been sucked out of me. Ugh. Oh well, I guess this is part of the "experience," right?

However, for all those other ladies coming off of BC, here is some good news: this 1st cycle (after 10 years on BC) was relatively normal (29 day cycle), so let''s hope I didn''t have beginners luck just off BC and that my cycles will continue to be normal.

dcgator, you can still be a jerk store! First three cycles I think makes you a jerk store, at least in my mind! Isn't AF a pain? Oh boy, she has been nutty for quite a few of us lately! You know, I think a few of us will be fertile right around Valentine's Day! How funny is that? I hope Cupid helps all of us out if that's the case!

I have a confession to make - I bought my first baby related item today! It wasn't even planned - I was on RueLaLa, a designer sale site, and spotted some maternity jeans mixed in among the other items. They were so cute and so cheap I snapped them up! Only $69, ladies! Had no idea what size to get, though! But it did make me feel more optimistic and that I was really starting to heal. DH is going to laugh when he sees them. I also finally got the Walgreens BBT thermometer! It is AWESOME!!! It turns out I have the BD one as well but I prefer the Walgreens BBT therm. I experimented using 3 thermometers and the Walgreens BBT therm is the most consistent and accurate, IMHO.

A few months ago I bought a whole bunch of baby stuff of of ebay and craigs list (I had the strangest nestign urge the month we had our false positive/chemical pregnancy whatever that was)

So I now have a little stash of things. Crazy I know.

Also, I have a private wish list set-up on Amazon with all the great recs from here and IRL so whever I do get to buy things for a baby/register it''s all there. I may just be a mental case, but oh well, what can I do

I remember that weird/nervous feeling after going for it the first time (you know, a month ago hehe.) Fortunately, it goes away.

As for me, I''m still spending my time perseverating on whether or not O has in fact occurred. When we were not trying, it was completely obvious when my abundant EWCM changed to NO CM! Now, since the day is spent thinking about it, the signs seem much more ambivalent

I got another negative today after lunch, but I plan on taking another test tomorrow morning. I think my Aunt Flo is in cahoots with HH and Allie''s Aunties, and she ran away.

Yes, that and over-thinking are my two major confounding factors. On Tuesday I was pretty convinced that Monday was O day, but now- ?!?!?!

Yes, ID does do custom work. I have never had anything custom designed by them, but I have seen their custom pieces for other clients and am working on a custom piece for myself - a chunky eternity! He has the best prices for excellent stones, that I know. We should meet up there sometime! Oh, I forgot to send you my dentist info! Is there any way to PM on this site? I vaguely remember someone once saying they PM but I have no idea how to do it!

Bella, you are SO smart to start nesting! You are way ahead of me, which means I'm going to freak out later on with no baby anything! All I have are maternity jeans! Oy!

You ladies crack me up on the CF vs. man juice comparisons. On the TTC thread waaaay back, one PSer had the most brilliant idea to differentiate between the two. All you have to do is to have your DH pee for 5 seconds on the fluid while it's still on your finger. If it hardens and gets gummy, it's man juice. But if it just dissolves into clear fluid, it's CF. Make sure you put on a rain slicker because I remember that one PSer got really soaked. It wasn't pretty. Another way you can tell is to stand on your head and try to sample the CF upside down. And if you are still reading this, I am totally kidding! I do have useful information, though!

Try to tell the difference between CF and semen. Supposedly semen breaks more easily and dries more quickly than egg white CF. Nesting is sort of overrated when you aren't knocked up. but it's kind of fun. DH was not happy when I dragged him out to Brighton Beach in the rain in December when we were just recovered from the flu to get a bag of 0-3 month baby clothes, including a miracle blanket, for $20.

Another way to check is... go get an egg from the fridge. Put it near the CF. Does the CF "swim" toward the egg? If so, it's sperm! If not, it's just CF.

So...for the end of the month when I am ovulating again...I need to make sure I have eggs in the fridge, slickers for DH and me, glasses of water, the entire winter olympics on DVR, AND my regular pee sticks, OPK, charts, etc...OMG what am I going to do?!?!!? I need to get a second apartment just for my TTC stuff (and the nesting stuff I bought on craigslist and ebay

Hey Ladies, I have a question. DH and I are going on a trip to Japan during my predicted magical fertile GOTF time. Does anyone remember what the TCOYF book says about preparing for time travel and temping? I know she had some weird way of changing your temping time to prepare for the trip or something.

Anyone else travel while temping and what do you do?


ETA- Did I really just imply that I will be time traveling?

I promise I'm not really that crazy!

Hey Ladies!

How is everyone doing on their 2ww? Any symptoms yet? Hope this is it for you!!!!

I went last afternoon to go stock up on some Dollar Store tests to get ready for testing and when I got home DH asked me if I was going to test right away. I wasn''t planning on it, because I had just went to the bathroom about an hour or so ago and figured my pee would be pretty diluted and I didn''t know if that would affect the result.
Well, he put the thought of testing in my head and I went right then and did it.
I waited about a minute and saw the control line and nothing else and figured it was a BFN.
I was upset, but just figured that I tested early since I still wasn''t sure what dpo I was.
So, I got on google and started looking up the Dollar Store test positives just to see what one would look like for the next time I tested - I figured it would maybe be 10dpo for me.
I noticed that some of the lines were really, really faint so I went and got my test (this was probably an hour or so after I had taken it) and saw a faint pink line!
I wasn''t sure if that was an evaporation line or an actual positive, because we''re not supposed to read the results after the 10 min. mark, so I figured I''d hold it for a couple hours and try again.
Well, this time I actually waited for 3 minutes before throwing it out and I saw another line!
I woke up early this morning to try my last Dollar Store test with my FMU just to make sure it wasn''t a fluke or a bad test and got another BFP!


I''m in total shock that it happened this fast. We''ve been trying for probably 3-4 months, but this was our first month of officially trying to time sex around when I thought I was going to ovulate, which I think ended up being totally the wrong time anyway.

I don''t know if this is as detailed answer as you were looking for, but here is what FF says:

How can I take my BBT when I am traveling?

If you travel within your own time zone, just keep on taking your temperature at the same time. You may notice a slight fluctuation if the climate is warmer/colder but this should not have a huge impact on your chart. Make a note in the notes section that you were traveling so you can explain unusual temperature patterns.
If you are traveling to a different time zone, the disturbance is usually only limited to the day of travel and the day after. Keep taking your temperature as before, using the same time in the local time. We recommend not adjusting any temperatures, but again, make a note of the circumstances. Unless you are traveling right around the time of ovulation, you should still be able to discern your pattern. When BBT is less reliable because of such a special circumstance, pay extra close attention to your other fertility signs to avoid missing a potential fertile opportunity.
