Even if the sample doesn''t fit right, you still look great, and I know that you will be absolutely gorgeous in YOUR dress that fits you perfectly!! I especially love the back view...the low back and small train look so elegant!! It''s just gorgeous.

PS: Our fave place to go is a resort that must be close to yours...we go to the Barcelo Maya resort, which is south of Playa, about halfway in between Playa and Tulum. LOVE that beach....amaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

Geri-That is gorgeous and you have a killer figure. Love the dress!!!

Bliss - hi lady... hanging in there... but nothing new to report unfortunately. Thanks for checking in. So glad to hear you are feeling like you again. I hope you can maintain that positive head space and take it day by day... (something that is way easier said than done :)
FYI (and TMI) DH and I tried preseed for the first time over the weekend... We didn''t love it... found it to be a little too wet. We are gonna give it another shot, and I will let you know if our opinion changes, but my advice would be to go easy with it.

Plantationcatt - You generally get your period fourteen days after ovulation. Everyone is different, but it should generally be around there.... so if your cycles are 32 days... like Noelwr said it is more likely that you are ovulating around day 18.

Lanie - happy to hear your cycle is underway. Hope this is THE one for you. No O for me... yet, but I appreciate the dust.

LV - yeah for follicles! Seems like you have some good ones starting to develop, hopefully the next few days Mother Nature will do her magic. It''s really nice to hear you being so hopeful too - after all you have done through.

Dcgator - you got positive OPKs! I bet your temperature shift is right around the corner. You get it after the positive opks anyway. Keep us updated! Sounds very promising though!

Icekid - Spain sounds amazing - thanks for sharing.

HouMG - I think FF seems right on with all your other signs. I love that you use both - TTC is a crazy process.

Krissie - glad eva is treating you well! Are you temping?

Geri - your dress is elegant and chic... love the back especially. It''s gonna be such a great time... soak up every minute. Congrats. (The dress always looks so much better on the day... I swear)

CD17 still nothing... blah

Thanks HMG and Bella and RyanClaire- you are all really kind. It's a little more figure hugging and revealing than I usually dress so I'm a little nervous about it. I love the back more than the front but I guess I can't stand with my back to the guests all day
3.gif

HMG - We are staying at Esencia, which if I have my bearings right, is just on the next beach to Barcelo Maya. So looking forward to it! Any must see things in the area? I agree with RyanClaire that I would go with FF. I suspect the issue may be that you don't have enough pre O temps for the programmes they use to work properly.

I honestly don''t know how you all keep up with everyone in here!!

I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone lots of dust.

HMG... thanks for the heads up about temping w/12 hr night shifts. I didn''t think it''d work right! I wish I could help you out on your chart, but I have no clue.

Geri... THat dress is GORGEOUS!!! :)

IceKid... glad you had a nice vacay!!

SS... Hope you have a nice vacay! Still no sign of AF??

CD5 here... goodbye AF!!!! Hope to NOT see you again for 40-some weeks! haha

Quick pop in to say that dress is fab Geri!!!!! You have an amazing figure so work it!!! It''s funny...I pictured you as a brunette for some reason! I know what a lot of the women in the preggo thread look like bc of their belly pics, but no idea what any of the rest of you look like!

Chillin out of CD 7. I am going to start using OPKs tomorrow, since I kind of miss POAS
9.gif

Hey ladies,

How is your almost Friday going? Is it just me or has the week FLOWN by?

Lanie: Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, the OPK''s are only a secondary fertility sign. Although the OPK''s pick up a surge in LH, the only way to accurately confirm ovulation is through the a temp shift that is caused by the elevated estrogen produced by the ovulation and remaining corpus lutem. (goodness gracious I just realized I know way too much about this, lol
3.gif
)

LV: thanks also for the advice. I have been temping 7 days a week at the same time, so unfortunaltey, that is not the issue.
But, SOOO EXCITING for you about your potential IUI''s on Saturday and Monday. So cool! Please do let us know how it goes tomorrow at the Dr. office
36.gif

Icekid: Thanks for sharing the Spain story. Sounds like you had a pretty good time, all things considered. I haven''t really spent much time in Madrid, I might have to check it out. If you get the opportunity again, I would highly recommend Barcelona and Valencia. I was based over there for a couple months and just loved it. Yeah for buying cute bags. I think I have bought my best bags in Europe where the tax back and lower price make it so much more reasonable (in my head at least
2.gif
) Now that you are back, don''t work too hard
1.gif

Split-Shank: Any update before you jet off to the land of the sun and beaches? If not, enjoy your trip and have some (possible) non-alcoholic drinks for us
9.gif

Plantationcatt: Any news from the doc?

Houie: Thanks for the happy thoughts. While I can''t say I had my O yet, my temps have stopped declining and are raising slight, so hopefully I will see O in the next day or two...fingers crossed. As for the craziness of the job, I think you will be ok. I also think that we are stacking up for a very busy April, with lots of good news and BFP''s!
As for the FF chart, I would stick with that over TCOYF. I know FF can change your O date too (it did it to me 4 times my first cycle) so, if it thought there was a need to, it would. I am not sure about the TCOYF software, but the secondary tools on FF give it a pretty accurate estimate (IMHO). Plus, I would go with your gut, b/c that is usually right
2.gif

Marym: How did it go yesterday? You ok?

Geri: Congrats on the upcoming wedding, woohoo! Your dress is absolutely fabulous and you look amazing in it
36.gif

As for the jewelry, I had some of the same concerns for my HM in Mexico (in the Mayan Riviera), but if you just keep it on and plan on hanging by the hotel, I don''t think you should have a problem with bringing it. Plus, they always have safes in the hotel, and definitely get it insured (which you should get anyway, just in case)

Ryan Claire: Hang in there chica, I am cheering for your O too. Come on O, step up
35.gif

Bella: Have fun PAOS,
3.gif
. I have a feeling this could be a good month for you
2.gif

****
As for me, I am hanging in there. I ran out of OPK''s this month, seeing as how I went through 8 already, lol. However, in the past week I had (from CD 10-CD17) negative, negative, positve, negative, positive, negative, positive, positive. Sheesh. Too bad I ran out, b/c I would be curious to see what it is today. Maybe I will run by CVS later and get one. (ok, so yes, apparently I am addicted to PAOS too
20.gif
) On that note, where is the best place online to get cheap OPK''s?

Anyway, CD 18 today. While my temps have not gotten above the coverline, the good news is that my temp this morning was elevated from yesterday''s low, so hopefullly that means O is on its way
9.gif
.

I hope everyone is doing well. Hang in there, just one more day till the weekend!

Bella,

Thanks for the websites. I will get on those right now!

Hi everyone!

I haven’t posted in awhile because I had nothing to report. I’m done with the 2WW and now on CD3. I’ve now had cycles since stopping BCP of 30, 30, 29. I was confused at first because AF came on day 29 with just a little spotting, and continued the next day with just very light spotting, which is unusual for me. But it seems normal now. Although I didn’t expect any results from last cycle, it was still a little disappointing, but we went out and had a big sushi dinner so that made it a little better. Stocked up on OPKs and a thermometer yesterday and temped for the first time today. It’s probably not accurate because I kept waking up in the early morning, worrying about temping. I even dreamed about the thermometer being broken. I’m not looking forward to waking up early on the weekend, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I too watched the Sperm show, thanks for the heads up Bella. I thought it was informative and funny at parts (one of the sperm people knitting in the seminiferous tubule) but a bit slow when they kept showing all the extended shots of the sperm people running, etc. I didn’t know there were so many obstacles to fertilization; it seems a wonder that people get pregnant at all, much less by accident! Out of the millions that get “deposited,” only a few even make it to the egg? Why does the life of an egg have to be as little as 6 hours??

dcgator - hope you get O! I need to order cheap OPKs online too. I have a CRV too! Your orange kitty is cute, I have a soft spot for orange tabbies since my childhood cat was one (but shorthair).

Bliss - wow, props to your DH for surprising you with a trip to Mexico. Hope you had fun! You’re so cute with your Eva.

noelwr - sorry you have to deal with that at work. Good luck with this cycle! I liked your cycle summary of everyone.

LV, glad your vision is better - that would be scary!

Kunzite - glad you’re keeping the crib-staring urge under control.

HouMedGal, Hello, and good luck next cycle!

So the other night I had a little DH freakout re: chores/household duties. We each have chores we do, but my main one (cooking/kitchen duty) is one that has to be done every day (unless we go out to eat) whereas he does laundry once every 3 weeks. He has a really busy few weeks at work, so he’s been pretty stressed, and he likes to play computer games and I don’t, so I’d been giving him space to do his own thing. Well, at that point it got to me that I had been doing all the cooking and cleaning without any offers of help or thanks, and my annoyance turned into us having a blowup. One of the problems is that I don’t like having to ask for help with something, I want him to be aware and offer. Is that silly? I guess I need to get over it. We made up, but it just underscores my fear that once we have parents, I’ll be by default the one responsible for everything and do everything because I don’t want to ask for help, and get resentful, while he assumes I have everything under control unless I say something. I think I read too much about that happening to other new moms. Maybe if/when it actually happens, I’ll want to do everything anyway (like with the cats I don’t mind because I love them so much…chores, not so much), but who knows. Another factor is that his mom did EVERYTHING at home growing up, in addition to working full time. She cleans in her spare time, does absolutely all of the household chores, and I do not want DH to expect that. I don’t think he does; just a fear on my part.

I have a couple questions…

Is the last day of your cycle the same day of the first day of the next one? Or is the last day of your cycle the last day before AF?

What’s the deal with using OPKs after you’ve ovulated and you already have a negative?

I know I didn''t get everybody, but good luck dust to everyone!!! EGGSEGGSEGGS AND BABIESBABIESBABIES

AND SPERMSPERMSPERM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or does ttc make PMS worse? I pay so much more attention to my body now so I''m so much more aware of my cramps. I had gotten my hopes up a little, b/c I''ve been having a lot of cm post ovulation and more lower back/abdominal pain than usual. Now, I think I''m just paying more attention to the pain.

:-) brightlight, I totally hear you! I don''t know if mine has gotten worse or if I am just more aware, but it hasn''t been this bad in several years
14.gif

catluver-I kept using my OPKs last month because 1. the kind I was using expired 30 days after I opened the cannister 2. b/c I wanted to see if I geared up to ovulate a second time with a second LH surge--which would mean I probably didn''t O the first time (sicne I don''t temp I figured this would be helpful to know) 3. it helps the 2ww go by faster when you still POAS every day, just an OPK stick not a PG stick

Thanks for the info Bella. If you hadn''t been wondering about whether you ovulated the first time, the OPKs wouldn''t have told you anything useful after ovulating, is that right?

I just started crying b/c I really want a baby. Also, I''m sad b/c of my family issue (some of you know from my thread from about a week ago), and how our baby won''t really have half a family. I''m due for my period in the next week, so I''m emotional.

Hi Catluver
35.gif
, To answer your question, no there is no reason to continue to take OPKs after you get a positive. The positive means that your LH is surging; ovulation should occur 12-36 hours after you get a positive. I suppose I would take another one or two, just to see if I continued to get a positive, but after ovulation your LH will not continue to surge.

I came across this site: OPK results. A woman took 25 tests in a row and shows her results here. When I was using OPKs, I think I misread negatives for positives, wishful thinking on my part, I guess.
37.gif
You may find these helpful for distinguishing a positive from a negative.

Sorry to hear that you had a freak-out yesterday. I did TOO, so I guess we can be freak-out twins!
19.gif
Your story reminds me of a friend of mine. She too does all of the cooking and most of the cleaning. When they had their son, she also did everything, and really had a hard time telling her DH that he should be doing more, so she was mainly resentful for the first few years, when his main contribution was taking the kid to the mall for 45 minutes every night so that she could have some time alone each day. This would be completely maddening to me, although it worked for them for the most part (she was still upset and feeling overburdened every day. She was a SAHM.) She just wouldn't say anything because she's ultra-non-confrontational. So, you can try suggesting little things that he can do now, to get him used to it. For example, if you are cooking and cleaning up every night, try asking him to do the clean-up. Good luck!

brightlights, I am sorry that you are so sad! I don't remember your other thread, but it sounds like things are difficult. ((((((HUGS))))))))))

I am trying out my new amazon OPKs tonight b/c I miss POAS and b/c I was bored
20.gif
So, here are my impressions.

My test got a streaky pink/purple background immediately. The directions say that's ok, but I have to say it's kind of annoying. My answer strips never did that.

The control line popped up immediately though.

After 5 minutes, the background was white again with a very strong control line, and a faint line in the LH test area--which is what I would expect for CD7. So, I'll keep you posted, and if you get the amazin strips and they turn pink/purple immediately don't freak out like me
3.gif
it will porbably be fine by the end of the 5 minutes
2.gif

LV-I love that site:-) It helped me figure out what was what last month when I first used OPKs. She is truly obsessed with POAS, but somethings are really helpful!

Thanks Bella. I just always pictured sharing the whole experience with my family, but I''ve grown further and further away from my family in recent years. It just makes me a little sad when I think about it..

LV, thanks for the opk info. I''ll have to check out that site. So much to learn!

So if I think I O on CD 14, should I start with the opks on CD 10? Maybe CD 9 just in case it''s early?

RyanClaire - Thanks for your lovely words. I''m sorry this is slow for you but i have my fingers crossed for you!

Lanie - Thanks so much. If you take out the hair dye, I am naturally mousy brown these days so you were half right!! I have lurked on the BWW thread so know what some of the girls look like but not others - it does seem weird. Hopefully we can share belly pics on the preggos thread soon!

Lynnie - Thank you! Good luck for you this cycle!

Dcgator - Thank you to you also for your kind words. I haven''t been to Mexico before so it''s nice to hear from people who have been. Fingers crossed for you that O arrives soon. Keep at that BD in the meantime! I also think that April is going to be a good month for the TTCers. This month has been quiet so I think there is lots of good news ahead!

CatLuver- I''m not sure whether anyone has answered but I had understood that when AF arrives is CD1 and the day before is the last day of your prior cycle (eg CD28, CD29 etc depending on cycle length). i''m sorry you are finding it hard with SO and chores. It''s such a hard balance to get right but I do think it is important to try to do something about it before the resentment builds. I am pretty lucky because SO is good around the house generally, but only with the things that he wants to do!! He also seems to think I have a monopoly on the kitchen and he does other chores (laundry, gardening) which he can do whenever he pleases. I am trying to get him to help with other things by asking him to "give me a hand" with things so we are doing them together rather than asking him to do things directly because this generally ends in tears!! Good luck to you.

Brightlight- I''m so sorry this is a sad time for you, especially with family problems, but please know this is very normal and you shouldn''t feel bad about it. I have had more emotional highs and lows in the TTC process than I have had in a very long time because there is so much more emotion attached to getting AF every cycle but I feel like I am learning all the time and I think I am a better person for the whole experience. I hope you feel better soon.

LV - Good luck this weekend.

marym- I''m thinking of your family.

LV- Good luck with your plan!

icekid- Glad you enjoyed Spain!

geri-You look lovely in that dress! I love weddings!

RC-Yeah, I meant "March 12" not "CD12" and CD18 was March 11, so somewhere in there. CD17 & waiting, booo.

brightligt-This morning I had a weird twinge and thought implantation! But then I thought constipation! So...I get you on the PMS sensitivity. I''m thinking of you and your family situation.

everyone else: Yall''s discussions are over my head so I can''t comment, but best of luck!
__

dcgator-The doctor''s office said it came back negative for pregnancy, but I don''t know what their hcg level cutoff is. Since my estimated AF day is the 26th, how early should I test at home? My mother is having surgery & radiation starting Wednesday the 24th (please keep us in your thoughts/prayers) for ocular melanoma, and I''d like to know before we go up there whether I''m pregnant (for many reasons).

Aw, I totally feel you there. I''m in the 2WW right now, and with every slight twinge or cramp I get, I think "implantation!"
38.gif
but since I''ve never really paid attention, I have no idea of knowing what''s normal and what''s not. I have never been this attuned to my body before ...

Good Morning TTC-ers!

I have some catching up to do.

Geri - Your dress is gorgeous!!
30.gif
You are going to be a stunning bride! So exciting!!
36.gif

Catluver - How long are your cycles typically? I think I would start on CD9 for your first cycle using them.

Brightlight - Sorry you were having a rough day! I hope you are feeling better today. I haven't read your other thread, but hopefully things will even out with your family in time. When I have kids, they will have only one grandparent. Sometimes, life just is what it is, and often it is not the ideal that we had always hoped for. You'll be ok! Hopefully, the cry was a cathartic one. I cried earlier this week too, and I so needed it. Feeling much better now, hope you are too.

DCGator - How was your temp this morning? Above coverline? Your OPK results seem very confusing. That must be very frustrating for you. Grrr. Post your chart for us if you think of it.

RyanClaire - Any sign of ovulation? Are you temping/charting and OPK'g? Is this your first Clomid cycle? Sometimes they say Clomid affects your temps, right?

Marym - How are you doing?

Plantationcatt - What cycle day are you on now? It was quite early for your test at the dr's office.

Krissie - You haven't been here for a while . . . how are you doing? I almost didn't recognize you from your new avatar. I remember you from BWW days, though I was not a frequent poster there.

Hi Noel, Bella, Lynnie, Bliss, Lanie, Icekid, HMG (and vacationing Split-Shank)!!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

********************

On to my pre-update! Weds evening - had a meltdown, Thurs morning - woke up with a violent migraine at 3 am, took Thurs off from work because of it. I had my u/s and b/w this morning. I have 9 total follicles, 5 of which are nicely sized at 16.4, 2-15's and 2-14's. My uterine lining is 10.something, almost 11. I think they want to see it at 8 or more. So, I am responding very well to the medication. IUI will not be scheduled yet. I will likely continue to take the Follistim and Ganirelix. DH is very nervous about multiples. We would both be very pleased with twins, but he is very nervous that we could have 3 or more implant. I have to discuss this with the nurse today. We could possibly cancel the cycle, but not sure what the alternatives are for future cycles, because I am on the starting dose for Follistim, so not sure that it can be lowered. Really, I think only the 5 (or some of the 5) will release eggs at this point. I will talk to the nurse this afternoon.

krissie, glad it''s not just me!

LV, I''m on CD25 of a usually 32 day cycle. Your paragraph was very complicated for me, but it sounds like you''re responding well! Best of luck and DH will probably be less nervous when you know for sure how many, no matter how many that is!

LV-I hope that it all works out!!!! Multiples are a handful, but I have to admit I do think they are super fun (I nannied for infant twins and spent a lot of time with/watching their triplet friends) DH is a twin, and we are both secretly hoping for a set at some point
9.gif
BUT...I totally understand why you wouldn''t want to be the octomom!

Catluver--Most OPK directions and peeonastick.com will tell you what day you should start the OPKs, it''s based on cycle length. If you are using internet cheapies the $ isn''t really an issue and I would start on CD 8 just in case. Your cycle is a little longer, so in reality I don''t think you''d need to start until CD 13 or so, but it gave me peace of mind to start earlier just in case anything else was happening.
geri-when do you leave?

Bliss-hope you and your five stone and Eva (and DH of course:-) are having a great time in Mexico! Wow, it''s like you have an entourage now:-)
3.gif

Plantation catt-fingers crossed for you.

bright lights-hope that you are having a better day today!

Plantationcatt - It takes 6-12 days after ovulation for implantation to occur, and HCG begins to produce after implantation. I might start testing on Sunday? I was always one to start testing early, though. Many of the tests say they can give accurate results up to 5 days before AF is expected.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope her prognosis is very, very good.

Is the last day of your cycle the same day of the first day of the next one? Or is the last day of your cycle the last day before AF?
What’s the deal with using OPKs after you’ve ovulated and you already have a negative?
Catluver: Welcome back to TTC land. Sorry about AF showing up, but we will just add you to the many ladies who are on tap to get lucky in April

. And don''t worry to much about the temping. I was totally the same way when I started to. I would wake up at all hours worrying about not temping right. After a while, it will just come naturally, no stressing out.
As for your questions, the last day of your cycle is the day before AF and the first day of AF (real flow, not just spotting) is CD1 of the next cycle.
As for the OPK thing, OPK''s can be positive then negative then positive (as has been this month''s case for me) b/c while you might get an LH surge, your body could be "gearing" up to release the egg but not do it. You will only know the egg is released by a temp raise. So, if you had a + OPK, but no temp rise, you might continue to use OPK''s
Also, I am sorry to hear about DH. Even if it''s not really your style, I would be proactive about this issue. You need to have a sit down and let him know that when the LO arrives, you are really going to need his help. Frame it as a partnership and less of a chore. Make him see that a LO is going to need a lot from you, and sometimes the biggest help he can do is going to be doing the stuff that you normally do. Hopefully, when a LO comes, there won''t be that lack of responsibility on his part. Communication is key. Men just really don''t get it most times, so talking it out helps

, good luck!

Brightlight: I am really sorry that you are so sad right now. Hopefully you can just chalk it up to hormones, but I do hope that they ease up and give you a break already! ((((HUGS))))

Plantationcatt: If I recall, they tested you on 5DPO, right? I actually was in the hospital last month at exaclty the same time, and they ran a urine test to check, but the doc said that even if I was, it prolly wouldn''t show. So, I wouldn''t put too much weight on that test.
As for how early you would know, usually, they say to wait till at least 10DPO to test. If you want to try to test on the 24th (approx 12DPO?), you should probably be able to tell, but to be safe, I wouldn''t consider yourself out of the game until the end of the 2WW or AF. That all being said, I think some of the ladies who have actually gotten a BFP before came give you a better guestimate (mine is all in theory

). But, I really hope that you get the BFP and have some good news. I will definitely keep your mom in my thoughts and I wish you both luck!

Krissie: Good luck in the 2WW. I hope that you really are getting those implantation cramps

LV: Thanks for the update, it sounds very promising! IMHO, I would stick with the course of action. I imagine the doctors would not let you proceed if they thought there was a large chance of ending up with 3+ babies. But, twins sounds like it could be a possibility. As long as you are ok with that, then let ''em roll (so to speak). I hope that they schedule the IUI for you next week so you can get KU soon! Good luck

As for me, my temps are finally creeping up to/slighty above the cover line this morning. So I think I may O today or the next day...fingers crossed. I tell you, my egg sure likes to make an entrance. I mean fashionably late does not mean a week late, lol. Kids these days, no manners

.

Anywho, I''ve got to get back to work now, but I hope everyone has a great weekend. Enjoy the weather if you are in the NE too!

Bella - So funny about Bliss's entourage!! I love that we are calling the CBFM "Eva" now! You all are killing me with the 5 stones lately, by the way. I think I am going to start the hunt for a vintage five stone in earnest this weekend! I deserve it, right?!

Did you ever post more photos of yours?

Yes, trying to avoid an octo-mom situation, for sure! We really just need to talk to the nurse about this. Last time, I had 3 - 4 mature follicles, and only one implanted, so the risk is fairly low for me, I think. DH is just worried about triplets, and good that he is, I suppose, because I'm just like, let's do the IUI already. We have to wait 2 weeks after the IUI, so let's get started already!!

eta:

dcgator - I like your plan - ACTION, ACTION!! I may need to put you in touch with my DH, haha! But, yes, you are right, we need to see what the dr says. I hope you get confirmation on ovulation in the next few days!

hahahahaha:-) yes, Bliss totally has an entourage!

I didn''t post pics of my ring and pendant yet, maybe this weekend I''ll get around to it....

I''d be like, great 5 is awesome, give me the IUI now:-) I would totally be the octomom, I am completely impatient and occassionally throw caution to the wind....

good thing DH can help keep me in touch with reality! Sounds like your DH is great too (though I''m crossing my fingers that you get twins

FYI-for anyone who remembers Drk and her journey to get pregnant, she posted pics of her new baby Kara in the pregnancy thread
