The Official TTC Thread!

Scarlet, if nuvaring is working it suppresses ovulation... I vote for coming off the ring now if you want to conceive this summer, it can take awhile for your cycle to regularize after hormonal b/c even if the ring is less disruptive than the shot. But use a backup method until you actually would be okay conceiving - 6 months is just an average and first month off b/c is always possible!

Congrats to all the newly knocked up ladies!

Smurfy, don''t stress much about the coffee. I was a total addict but went off the stuff pretty easily once preggo...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I went to FF and got completely different readings from what my current calendar says and what I know is right so I must have done something wrong lol
I''m using another site to track it right now and for the life of me can''t remember the name, but I have it bookmarked at home and I know it has little purple rabbits that show on the calendar when you are fertile lol

Hello all!!

Ugh, working in the PICU is TOTALLY killing my internet time, but after all the good news here I absolutely had to stop in to give a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to Kunzite, PlantationCatt, and LV!!! I am absolutely thrilled for you all!!! Sending healthy sticky bean vibes your way!!

So here''s my only question....do those count as April BFP''s, or the first of the May BFP''s??? Either April is the record month by far, or May is already setting up to be another record setter!! Ladies who own the BFP''s....what do you think??
9.gif

Wish I had time for individual responses, but I don''t...am on call right now and really must get off the computer. Nothing much going on here...I am CD11, starting to see some signs of impending O, so the BD marathon starts tomorrow once I get home from being on call!! Oh, and I bought some Instead cups....and we''ve already got the PreSeed. Pullin out the BIG GUNS just like you, Bella!! hehe!!

Good luck to everyone!! I''ll be back to check in when I can!

The very first test I took was one that said YES or NO. I got ? for an answer.

HH, we all wonder how you got preggo consulting your magic 8 ball!

Smurf, good luck! All the research on coffee indicates is that 6 cups a day is too much caff. Somehow this has been extrapolated to mean that none of us can walk past Starbucks. Anyway, I still have my cup a morning and this baby is almost overcooked. I was more concerned with avoiding soda when ttc and preg, that stuff can really do a number on your pancreas and insulin being so connected with hormones...seemed better to stick with straight up baked goods for caloric consumption.

Well Swimmer, you see, when two people love each other VERY much, they try to get as close to each other as possible. They lay down in bed and hug and kiss and laugh a lot. Sometimes they get so close that they make a baby...

Oh man, too bad I''m too old (33) to do that now, either in the US or Japan. I also like to keep my ivy league diplomas between me and DH on the bed so I don''t get any STDs. Sheepskin ya know. Sigh, sounds like fun though!

Actually I DO know! I sleep with my Harvard degree every night! You can never be too safe, I mean, I know I''m pregnant already, but my husband has most definitely had more than one partner in his lifetime (unlike me who was virginal as freshly fallen acid rain-derived snow before we got married). I''d hate to pick up creepy crawlies from him or become otherwise corrupted. Then again, I was the one who went to an Ivy school, so I guess that would make ME the high risk person in our relationship just by virtue of poor decision making?

Ivy league I'm not but I think the extra body hair I've sprouted during pregnancy serves well as DH repellent.

icekid: I must have ovulated later, it''s a good thing we DTD a few more times!

catluver: Boo to the 2ww. I had NO symptoms until sore boobies Sunday...and I was 5.5 weeks!

smurfy: You picked a good month to start trying, lots of good dust going around.

modernsparkler: I wish I''d had some preseed. My "delicate area" was VERY delicate after a week of "trying."

RC: thank you. Hoping things are well for you and the accupuncture is doing it''s thing!

Allie: Hot dog in the hallway, hahahaha.

brightlight: If you POAS or SOAS (salivate) for 30 days I won''t judge you.

scarlet: Best of luck! Start figuring out when you O.

HOU: Thank you! And I''ll claim May! Have fun with the marathon.

fisher: I credit you and your prophetic thinking for this, haha! Thinking of you...

___

My DH was out of town Saturday when I POAS, but I bought another one to test Sunday, and when he got home the next day we sat down for lunch and he''d brought me a little package of candied almonds. So I told him I got him a present, too. I had wrapped up a cloth dinosaur Christmas ornament he loves that his mom made when he was a kid. He opened this and said, "What''d you do, wrap objects from around the house?" (hahah) and then unwrapped the next thing, which was a notecard that said, "I''m a pregosaurus." He read it twice, looked at me, said, "Are you really?" and gave me a big hug and kiss and kind of teared up. I NEVER cry at my own life, (only other people''s happy events...I probably need therapy), but I teared up too, and then he had to unwrap the stick. We started dating more than eight years ago and have had our kids'' names picked out for almost as long. Both male and female names start with a "C" so the little cluster of cells is being called, "baby c" even though he''s also called it: baby, baby beluga, tadpole, baby bean, and a few I can''t remember.

My obgyn''s office had me come in yesterday for a urine test to confirm, and I have an appointment with the nurse tomorrow, and the OB next week. We''re hoping to tell our family and friends in a couple weeks.

Thank you so much for the support I''ve had during my brief few month stay. Ladies, yall are wonderful. Lots and lots of dust to everyone and I''ll keep checking in on everyone.

Also, I think the only symptom I had before Sunday was that I suddenly liked Reeses. Until this month I hated chocolate and peanut butter. Now I LOVE them. Really.

PlantationCatt-I''m so excited for you and I love how you told your DH!!!!

On my end, I am CD 28, 12 DPO, and I POAS this morning--definite BFN, so I think I was right about this month not being it...

I guess we''ll find out for sure though b/c AF is due sometime between today and Friday...

But, AF is just CD1, and DH is getting all excited for this month (he goes to this men''s group from our church on Saturday mornings and they''ve all been talking about getting PG and how it took most of them and their wives around a year to get PG, so DH feels much better. I think it''s good for him to have someone to talk to about this besides me--kind of like how I have you ladies:-)

So, for real this month, we''re going for a Valentine''s Day baby

Hi all, guess I finally get to join in!

DH and I had originally planned on starting to TTC in December, but had to hold off as we have been trying to get me onto his health insurance (which we are still working on). The other thing holding us back was that my sister (who I lost 6 years ago) had cystic fibrosis, and I hadn''t gotten tested yet to see if I was a carrier of the genetic mutation. I finally had the test done a couple months ago, and it came back positive for me being a carrier. DH got test almost a month ago, and we finally got the results today--negative! We''re very excited that we can begin trying. My next fertile phase isn''t for another few weeks, so I''ll be dropping in randomly till then.

I''m so thrilled that we can begin officially trying!

Congrats Amandine! I''ve got CF in my family too so I definitely know how hard it is to wait to find out. Best of luck to you sweetie!

Thanks for the welcome back everyone! Ok, so if nuvaring suppresses ovulation, then I''m assuming I should just wait until I come off to start temping and trying to figure out when I O?

Also, we don''t really want to come off now, JUST IN CASE. August is really the earliest we want to get pregnant...if it happens later than great.

I will DEFINITELY order that book though. Anything else I need to order? Ovulation predictors, etc.?

No on the otehr stuff. Just take a few months and try and get a feeling for your body and cycles. You could go off BC now and just use other prevention methods if you want to be primed and ready when August rolls around. For me though, I was on BCPs for 3 years, depo for 5, back on BCPs for 2 and then off for 2 before TTC. But even with having been on all of that hormonal BC my body regulated very very quickly and I started ovulating right away.

HH - can you drop a bag of that quickly regulating dust somewhere on Rt. 95 and I''ll pick it up either in my way into work or on my way home? I could use a little of that

Happy Hump Day and Happy 5 de Mayo! Not to be a debbie downer, but is this week dragging on for anyone else, or just me?

. Oh well, I am sure it will be over soon. Anywho,

Smurfy: Glad you logged onto FF. Hopefully that will take the guess work out of everything now

Houie: I am glad to see your (online) face. You are going to be my KU buddy this month, so let''s motivate each other to keep up with the BD''ing marathon this week...go TEAM!

Sorry about the PICU, but hang in there. Hopefully hanging around the maternity ward will kick in your body''s natural instincts
2.gif
I kinda wish I had got the Instead Cups for this month, but if I am left here next month, that''s my next move.

HH: This whole time I thought the stork brings my baby from the Cabbage Patch...dangit, I knew there was a reason I wasn''t KU by now, lol. You are to funny girly.

Brightlight: I think you are lucky that you don''t like to POAS, you are at least saving some $$. Good luck with the SOAS
3.gif

Plantationcatt: Congrats again on getting KU!
36.gif
. I bet it was really nice to get confirmation from your Doc though. And 5.5 weeks already, that''s crazy! I just

the way you told him via the pregosaurus, how cute! Those hormones must be getting to you already to make you cry, or else you are just SUPER excited about this LO, especially considering all the family stuff earlier this year. I am so happy for you and your DH and hope that little C enjoys his/her 8 months in there. Btw, too funny about the Reeses...I love those things, hehe.

Bella: Sorry about the BFN, but it sounds like you have a great attitude heading into the next cycle. You never know though, as I''m sure LV and countless other ladies can tell you, sometimes you just get a nice surprise when you are least expecting it. I am still sending sticky dust for you, just in case.
2.gif
. I am glad to hear DH has his little group too. I know this helps all of us so much, so it must be nice for the guys to have an outlet too
1.gif

Amandine: Welcome to the TTC ''hood.
35.gif
You will find yourself in good company as two other new ladies joined the group in the last week. I am sorry to hear about your sister, but glad that you and your DH won''t have to worry about that
9.gif
. Feel free to linger/lurk even before your fertile time, as we are all just rolling with it. Congrats on officially starting the process!

Scarlet: If you really don''t want to get pregnant before August, then don''t get off BC before then. Also, you are correct in that you can''t really track your O''ing while still on BC. Just wait to start all that till you are off the BC. In the meantime work on getting you in the best baby making shape as possible (both physically and good habit wise). Another book you can read is What to Expect Before You''re Expecting. While it is not as educational as TCOYF, it is a good overall guide to getting your life in baby making order. Good luck!

So CD11 for me. I am still waiting for my temp spike. I had a slight drop this morning but also another negative OPK. I am seriously hoping for either a temp spike tomorrow or a big drop off in temp, so that I know the spike is right after it. A positve OPK would be nice too. I just hope I can keep up this BD''ing marathon. I am really not appreciating my 6CD day range of O days, but I would settle for the lesser CD''s right about now...
20.gif

B!!!! How are you? Just FYI, I dropped some dust for you out at the pickle park between exits 5 and 6 on I95 south. hehehe

LV, Kunz and plantation, that''s so funny that you all had BFPs that were great surprises!
Sticky dust!

dcgator, sounds like you are really doing a BD marathon. Good luck! I know it''s hard to BD so many nights in a row...not sure how many you are at now; last cycle we did it 5x and it was exhausting. But it worked for noel!

Bella, sorry about the BFN, but here''s hoping there''s still a chance.

hou, hope all is well and you''re surviving your rotation.

Welcome to all the new ladies.
I''m hanging out at 6DPO and planning to test on Saturday at 9DPO. After all this talk about Instead cups, I think I''ll give it a try next cycle too. Part of me thinks it''s silly because millions of women get pregnant without these extra things, but if it can help speed up the process, why not? To those who have used them, how far up do you put it - just enough to have it stay, or as far as it will go? Do you leave it in the next day too or take it out in the morning (assuming you BD at night)? It seems appealing if only for the "containment" factor - I find the leakage issue to be very unpleasant especially while sleeping...I could go into more detail, but I''m sure you know what I''m talking about, so I''ll leave it at that :)

If they''re clean sheets, I lay a towel down in the middle of the bed under where my pelvis would be. Then, I just throw the towel in the washer and lay another towel down the next time. It helps during the fertile period when there''s a lot of BDing, so I don''t have to change the sheets or have multiple man juice stains there for a week. I really like my sheets!

Anyway, I think I''m late. I say *think* b/c my last cycle was so abnormally long. I also had a few more days of fertile cm than usual. Judging by that combined with when my boobs started to get sore, I think I could have ovulated a few days later and only be at 11 dpo. So, I''m going to wait until the weekend to POAS. I started temping several days ago for practice. I figured it couldn''t hurt, but I have no pre-ovulation comparison so it''s not really informative right now either. It''s been in the 98s.

Hello ladies,

Plantationcatt: Congrats again on getting KU!

I am still sending sticky dust for you, just in case.

. I am glad to hear DH has his little group too. I know this helps all of us so much, so it must be nice for the guys to have an outlet too

Amandine: Welcome to the TTC ''hood.

You will find yourself in good company as two other new ladies joined the group in the last week. I am sorry to hear about your sister, but glad that you and your DH won''t have to worry about that

Oh well, all we can do is keep at it for a couple more days.

Good luck to the rest of you ladies!
After my last cycle, FF gave me a two week range for when I would ovulate this cycle. Talk about useless. Just remember if you''re tired that a quickie gets the job done too.
