The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, crossing my fingers for you. If you are in fact pregnant again, I think you must have super fast fallopian tubes or something to get symptoms so early, and your really early BFP last time around. :)

Aviastar, sorry about the BFN, but you have a great attitude, and chances are, it will happen soon for you.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thank you Steph!!!

aviastar - Sorry about the BFN, but at least your cycles aren't long and drawn out! That's a good first step!

NEL - I'll be checking for an update in a few days!!

Someone asked for progression pics so I've attached them starting at 12DPO - 17DPO today. I wasn't this crazy last time around, but I think my craziness is normal!! For me, Wondfo hpts don't get dark for a while which started to freak me out so I took a FRER at 15DPO. You can see the Wondfo finally got darker today!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, that is such a beautiful photo. I love seeing the line get darker! Have you scheduled your first appt.? Your OB is going to be so happy for you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats Missy! I am so so happy for you and your DH.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

This post is mainly to poke fun at myself. Soon you will be laughing at me, too.

So the heartburn is mostly gone, but the cramps remain. Then yesterday morning I was so nauseous I had to lie down on the cold tile of the bathroom floor for a few minutes. That was an isolated incident. Now I have one nipple that feels like it's on fire. WTF kind of symptom is that?

I keep telling D that I'm 95% sure I'm pregnant. He thinks I'm on the crazy train, but doesn't argue with me too much, which is good because a husband shouldn't argue with his hormonal, pregnant wife. He says that as long as I'm not disappointed if I'm NOT pregnant, then I can believe anything I'd like.

I started testing this morning (Tuesday is near the end of the week, right)? I just feel better when I'm peeing on things. Obviously there was no second line because I'm estimating I'm about 7dpo. I'm going to test 2x per day until I get a BFP or AF. Obviously I'll keep checking in until one or the other occurs.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, normally, I would say you're crazy, but you really did know from early on last time, so I will not at all be surprised if you are right again this time. Fingers crossed for you!

Missy, love seeing your progression line! Do you have a first appointment scheduled yet? Hope you and the little one are doing well.

Clairitek, are you still hanging around these parts? I seem to remember you were in line to TTC last time around.

Yes, it's for this Friday 6/7! They only do a confirmation and medical history. I won't see my actual OB, it'll be a nurse practitioner for this one. I hope they listen to my craziness and will schedule a dating ultrasound for my piece of mind. I need to see that heartbeat!!!

Oh and NEL, you aren't crazy! At least you have some kind of symptoms. I just randomly tested and it totally surprised me. I barely have any symptoms!

Thank you Claritek!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, I'll be crazy with you too and say that you're pregnant! Since you got a BFP last time at 8dpo, I'd say 7dpo isn't too early to test. Eek, I'm so excited for you!

MP, how are things going with you and not-so-little Ev?

Missy, yay for the upcoming first appt, even though it's a boring one. I'm sure your OB will be fine with doing a dating ultrasound given your history of late ovulation.

Avia, I don't think I ever answered your question before Missy got her BFP. Yes, my OB said that I could get pregnant the same day after having the Mirena removed. I think I'll still have her take it out a month or two before we start trying, only because I want to make sure I have a normal cycle before trying.

Clairitek, hi lady! How are things going with you?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Late to the party here but MISSY I'm so happy for you my dear!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: Good luck on your first appointment. I remember your OB being really understanding and awesome, so I hope you can get a lot of hand holding this time around.

NEL, you're not crazy, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congratulations MISSY!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Thank you LC!!! I was wondering where you were ;) My OB is very sweet. Last time around I saw all of the doctors so I'd get familiar with them. But the last one I saw in April is so so sweet and I want to see if I can see her for every appointment now.

Thank you Skippy!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, I'm so glad you found a doctor you really like and hopefully that will help ease any anxiety you may be feeling. I'm still sending thoughts and prayers for you and that little bean of yours.

NEL, no pressure, but any news??? Keeping my fingers crossed. It seems like there may be mini baby boom underway, and I hope you're next!

S&I, Ev and I are doing well, thanks for asking! Everybody remarks that he is one of the smiliest baby they have ever seen, and I just have to laugh when I think back to the first 8-10 weeks and how miserable he seemed with his nonstop crying. I think he is tricking me into thinking that I have this mommy thing down and another baby will be a piece of cake, ha! Hope you and little A are doing well too!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP, nothing yet--I already tested twice this morning. Well, technically 3 times because I double dipped a wondfo HCG and a FRER. I just ordered another 50-pack of wondfo HCG tests so I feel like I can test whenever I want with no risk of running out. I'm not bummed by BFNs, but what I don't understand is why I feel pregnant when there obviously isn't enough HCG in my body to show up on a sensitive test. I honestly don't feel like it's in my head--I've had mild to moderate cramps for a week and that's not normal for me. If this isn't my month, I'm fine with that, but I won't be reading into any early symptoms next time around.

Where are you in your cycle? Is the plan still to NTNP for a couple more months before tracking?

Okay, I think I'm going to go test again. I've peed every 2 hours on the dot today...which is another thing that is not normal for me. Frequent peeing makes it impossible for me to not test.

ETA: I took today off to finish a home project, hence my constant testing. Also, I think I'm 7dpo, but could be 8dpo today, which is another reason I've gone off the deep end with testing.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, too funny about all the testing. I've never been a frequent tester (except when I finally did get a BFP) because the blank test line is too depressing for me. But anyway, it's still WAY early, so you might have better luck with a more, um, concentrated sample tomorrow morning. And just because you got a super early BFP last time, doesn't necessarily mean you will get such an early one this time, even if you are pregnant, you know?

I'm thinking we're going to step up our efforts a bit this month. Well, I'm at least going to start using OPKs to make sure I'm ovulating around the time I think I am. I've noticed my CM has been a bit odd the past couple cycles. I seem to have EWCM shortly after AF ends and then not so much around ovulation time. And the past couple of cycles, I have had a day of spotting where I think AF has started, and then it stops, and I don't get AF until 2-3 days later. I'm wondering if my hormones are off a bit or something. I'm in such a weird place with all of this TTC stuff because logically I know it is for the best if I don't get pregnant immediately, but at the same time, I am thinking about it constantly and hoping against hope I'll be surprised with a BFP. (As if it can really be called a surprise when you are trying, but you know what I mean).

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP, I can definitely understand the pull between knowing it's soon, but also being frustrated because it just isn't happening on its own. You'd never believe this, but I'm not the most relaxed person ;)) . So when I'm focused on something (like trying to have a baby), I have a hard time being laid back. Thus even when I know things will happen when they're supposed to, I get consumed by the goal. It sounds like you are going about it in the exact right way: not obsessing, having a plan, knowing your body and also being grateful for having wonderful, delightful Ev. But it's okay to be frustrated, too.

Given the slight fluctuations in your cycle, I'd do the same thing. OPKs are cheap and easy, so you may as well make sure you're Oing when you think you are. I don't like not tracking and neither does D (he's not a relaxed person, either--in fact we joke that we are the most uptight couple we know), so if this isn't our cycle, I'll be using OPKs from here on out.

How are things for you on the job front? Just curious if that is also a factor for you this time around.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, yep, that's just it. Getting pregnant definitely becomes a goal/obsession. I so wish I could just be one of those people who can relax and accept that things will turn out they way there meant to turn out, but in this area of my life, I cannot seem to let go of control even though I should have learned by now this is the one area of my life in which I have absolutely no control!

Anyway, the job thing is always hanging out there for me. I'm still in the same position I was last time, and for the most part, things are going okay right now, although I either need to find a new job or go part-time because I have no desire or motivation to bill the kind of hours I was billing pre-baby, and my first three months back were SLOW. I recently had a third interview for a corporate counsel position, and it seemed to go well, even though I know I'm a bit inexperienced for the position. But they are moving SO slowly with the process (my first interview was about three months ago), and I'm very ambivalent about whether I even want the job if it is offered. It's just not something I can see myself being particularly passionate about, or maybe it's just unrealistic to expect to be passionate about my job.... I should hopefully hear back soon, and if offered, I will have a big decision to make. However, we are going to continue to TTC regardless of what happens. Sorry, that was such a long answer to your question!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, not crazy! I have a friend who has consistently (3 littles now, total) been able to tell she was pregnant at least a full week before she could get a positive test. She was just super sensitive/in tune and she was never wrong- so keep POAS to your heart's content!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP, I think it's smart to keep your TTC plans in place while you figure out "the rest". That has been a big consideration for me lately as well, but I feel confident that it will work out. Congrats on getting the third interview, even if you decide not to take the job. Sounds like they average an interview a month--not exactly an inspiring pace :)

Update: This morning's concentrated urine brought a very, very faint positive. I snapped a couple of shots with my iPad (our regular camera was dead) and the line is so faint that you can barely see it at all. You may not even be able to see it on the pics I'm attaching. I almost didn't post the pics, but what's the harm. I am confident that this is an actual line and not any type of evap line because a) the line showed up about 5 - 7 minutes after dipping it and b) I have about 6 negative tests from yesterday that I can compare it too, haha.

I'm out of FRERs, but have several digitals. I think it's going to be another day or two until I get a + on the digital, but will test in the mornings.

I THINK I'm 8dpo (thought I Oed on the 3rd), but I could be 9dpo. Also, I compared it to my 8dpo test with Katie and this line is much lighter. Plus, Katie's test is 2 years old...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, OMG! That is awesome! Congratulations! I can just barely see the line, and yes they do seem to get darker as time wears on. I swear you must have lightening speed fallopian tubes or something to get such fast BFPs! Wishing you a healthy and smooth pregnancy! Yay!!!

(Not anywhere near as exciting, but I had a surprise nearly positive OPK this morning and it is only CD7. Not sure what the heck that is all about.)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Eeeeeeek! I see it, I see it!! Congrats NEL! :appl: :appl: So much good news around here :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Yes! NEL! Congrats- sometimes you just know!

I tell ya, 2013 has been a good year in the PS TTC world, so much happy going around. Let's keep this trend going! :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, I'm not sure which thread you are posting on these days, but I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you today. I'm sure it is a very emotional day for you. I just know Blake is smiling down on you and his baby brother or sister.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, I also thought about Blake this morning. I'll be thinking of you all day as you celebrate his life and know he'll be celebrating his baby sister/brother from heaven.

Thanks, ladies, hopefully I'll post some positives later on that won't give you a headache from squinting. This is seriously the faintest positive ever. D and I agreed we wouldn't tell our parents until we have a + on the digital.

MP, I remember last time spending hours googling "ectopic pregnancy" because I was convinced my egg could not have traveled all the way to my uterus in so short a time--I figured it was stuck in my fallopian tube. At least this time I'm not so scared. Bonus of second-time pregnancies. Now it just needs to stick.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, thinking of your family. Blake's smiling at all three of you today :)

NEL, hugs hugs hugs sweetie! I'm so happy for you.

Sending sticky dust to both of you ladies :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL!!!!! I see it! So that would be EDD around 2/20?? Blake is working his magic :)

Thanks for thinking of me ladies.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Missy, if I did O last Wednesday, my EDD is 2/19. And what day is K's b-day? 2/19. Ha. I would love an 8-week ultrasound for dating validation, but not sure if I'll get one since this was a normal (short) cycle.

Thanks, LC!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: Nel! I see it too.

maybe we should resurrect the JBP thread? I just got a BFP, and missy, and you...hopefully there will be more soon :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BELLA!!!! In my obsessive testing yesterday, I totally missed your BFP!!! Oh my gosh, I am so beyond excited for you. I have been following your journey for years and am so, so, so over the moon for you! I'm so sorry I didn't see this yesterday, but this is seriously the best news I've heard all day. Even better than my own (faint) BFP. Seriously, I could not be happier.

I was planning to follow Missy to the pregnancy thread, but am more than happy to help revive the JBP thread. Now that there are a few of us (and hopefully more soon), it might be a good idea. Either way is fine.

MP, I totally forgot to respond to your nearly positive OPK test at CD7. Was this morning the first time you tested? I wonder if it could be a multiple surge month? Are you going to test again tonight? Just curious to see if it become positive or starts fading...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congratulations, NEL! Wow there certainly is a baby boom here on PS! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Wow! Missy, NEL, and Bella--congrats!!! :appl: (Sorry to anyone I missed.) So happy for you all!
