The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, I just knew you were pregnant! I even had a dream the other night about you and Katie and a little baby boy! I didn't get a chance to tell you about it, but it was the night before last. Congrats mama! Katie is going to be such a cute big sister! Have you told D yet?

Missy, if I did O last Wednesday, my EDD is 2/19. And what day is K's b-day? 2/19. Ha. I would love an 8-week ultrasound for dating validation, but not sure if I'll get one since this was a normal (short) cycle.

Thanks, LC!

Whoa, how crazy is that?!

Today was the first day I used an OPK. I seemed to have a bit of watery or EWCM the past couple days, so I just used an OPK on a whim when I had to wake up with Ev at 3:30 this morning. I took another one at like 7 this morning that was not quite as dark, but also close to positive. I never seem to be able to not drink water or hold off from using the restroom, so I doubt I'll take another one until tomorrow morning. You might be right about me having multiple surges or something because although my cycles are shortish (25-27 days), I also seem to have a shortish LP (11-12) days, so it wouldn't make sense that I'm about to ovulate. Who the heck knows. Of course the month I decide to keep track starts off all confusing!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Aww, S&I, how cute that you had a dream about us! I admit that I think it's a boy this time, but what's funny is this time around I really don't care at all. If it's a boy, wonderful, but I would be completely smitten with another girl. Very different from last time :) D saw my test in the bathroom this morning and I was asking him if he could see the second line. He thought this was hilarious because the second line was "only detectable with super human sight". Eventually he agreed it exists, but still wants to see the word "pregnant" on the digi.

Monnie and S&I, admit I totally stalk the newborn thread and love updates about both of your Alex's.

MP, so odd about the early near positive. And that you had some other O symptoms as well. I mean, I guess it's not impossible for you to O early this month, but with your short LP, it would be a <20 day cycle. It has to be a cycle where you have 2 surges, right? I'm interested to see what happens...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, congratulations! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, that's crazy that your edd is K's birthday! My mom and I both have birthdays in March, while my dad and my sister have birthdays in November. And they're 9 and 5 days apart, respectively, so it's not like the beginning and the end of the month. We never had a problem with that. It might be a bit trickier to have separate birthday parties if you have a boy this time though. ;)

MP, that's weird that you got such an early positive OPK. What's weirder is that I had some EWCM early (for me) this cycle too, like around CD8 or so, and thought nothing of it. And I started spotting on Monday (CD20). It looks like today is CD1 instead of CD22, so now I'm wondering if I Oed early too. This is exactly why I want to get my Mirena removed a month or two early, so I can figure out where I am in my cycle before we start trying. You might want to test again this evening even if you don't have concentrated urine. I got my surge in the evening the cycle I got pregnant with A.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

OMG BELLAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

OMG NEL!!!!!!!!

So jelly!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Aw, thanks Nel and Pancake and everyone else! We are really excited, but also nervous. So, the next phase of waiting begins :cheeky: PS has been such a supportive community to me during my long TTC journey. I can't wait to continue into the pregnancy and newborn threads for real:-)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I think I'm ready to jump in this thread. I was in the Wanting but Waiting, but now I think we can start trying to conceive again! I see some familiar faces in here, so some of you already know my story. As an update, my last AF was very unusual for me. I had 8 days of bleeding, 5 of which were really heavy. I think I was passing the rest of the tissue from my miscarriage. It was a difficult thing to go through, and I don't think I even experienced ovulation during that cycle. With AF about to start again, hopefully this cycle will be normal, and we can time the BD correctly.

Congrats to all of you newly pregnant ladies!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh wow!!! Congratulations NEL and Bella!!! This thread is hopping!!!!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hmm, still a super faint line this morning with another negative on the digi. Would love a darkening test line, but I also know it's still really early. These earliest days are so nerve-wracking because it's just so iffy. Still not saying anything to my parents or calling the OB.

Coda, welcome! I think your plan was to hold off on tracking your ovulation for a little while, right? Lots of luck to you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

CONGRATS to the newly preggo ladies!! Im so thrilled for ALL of you!!!!!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congratulations NEL on your BFP! That's so exciting that K may be exactly 2 years older than her sibling!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, when you think about how early it is and how it takes two days for the levels to double, I don't think it's at all surprising it's still very faint, although I know we all fixate on that in the early stages since there is nothing else to gauge your progress. I bet the line will be darker by this weekend. Still so happy for you guys!

Hi Coda, good to see you over here. I hope AF returns quickly and you can start trying again soon.

AFM, my OPKs last night and this morning were much fainter. So either I just barely caught the surge yesterday or it was a fakeout. We had already BD'd on Tuesday, and we did again last night and probably will tonight, so our bases should be covered just in case, and I'll keep taking OPKs. The only thing that makes me think it might have been the real deal is that I had a lot of EWCM yesterday. It's hard to say today due to the aforementioned BDing last night. I really need to get back up to speed on all of these monitoring things because I've forgotten a lot since getting pregnant and having a baby. Oh, and here's another fun factor, DH has pretty bad asthma and he has also been battling a bad bronchial infection that has been aggravating his asthma for the past two weeks. He is on antibiotics and he was supposed to be taking prednisone, but he opted not to because of our TTC efforts, but oh my gosh, it makes for some awkward BDing when your DH is coughing and can't breath....

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP, I hope this is the real thing for you--short cycles are a bonus when you're trying to have a baby. You make a good point about the EWCM...even when I had a month with multiple surges, I didn't get EWCM until I Oed. You have your bases covered, that's all you can do. And your poor husband. Hopefully you guys can laugh about it. D had bronchitis a couple of months ago, but like a true male that did not deter him from his constant quest. I feel bad, but the coughing drove me batty.

I just got back from Target a little while ago and tried another wondfo. It seemed darker than this morning, so I dipped a FRER and a CB digi because I'm a testing addict. But they both gave me positives. Odd how literally just 6 hours makes a difference.

Okay, I'm not going to hog this thread anymore. But I'll keep posting to cheer you ladies on!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Woohoo NEL! Doesn't the digi confirmation always make it much more real? Tons of sticky dust to you! Do you have any cute plans for how you'll tell your parents?

MP, good luck this cycle even though it was super short! Looks like your bases are covered even with your surprisingly early O. :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for the warm welcome! AF started today, a couple days before I expected it, making that cycle only 22 days! My cycles are fairly short though, 22 at the shortest to 27 at the longest. I don't think I even ovulated last month due to AF lasting so much longer than usual, so TTC begins in earnest right after AF this month. Since my cycles are short, looks like we will start BD next Thursday or Friday.

MP, here's hoping you're the next one getting the BFP!

NEL, congrats on the digital confirmation! Hopefully I can get pregnant that easily. I am going to hold off on tracking ovulation at least for this month, but if I don't get pregnant, I may start tracking it on the next cycle. I just don't want to wait much longer to have a child at my age.

:wavey: Hello to everyone else in this thread. I just started following it, so I'm not sure who's in the TTC camp, who's already conceived, and everyone else who posts in here, but I'm sure I'll get on board soon.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

S&I, it is nice to see the word "pregnant" on a test...especially when you're sharing any photos. Speaking of, I creatively told my mother by emailing her. Haha. My father is on a trip right now and I couldn't get ahold of her on the phone. When I told her my due date is K's b-day, she said that D and I must have a special "time". Haha, apparently in her eyes I have sex every two years at the same time on the dot.

coda, keeping my fingers crossed that this is the cycle for you. You didn't happen to have your progesterone levels checked before your m/c, did you? It's likely you do ovulate early and have a normal LP, but with such a short cycle it might be worth it to check to make sure your LP isn't too short (most often caused by low progesterone). I hesitate to say anything because I know you don't want to monitor your O yet, but with your short cycles and a m/c, it might be worth exploring if you don't have any luck for a few cycles or have another m/c. Tons and tons of luck to you!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL: Pfuff! I totally saw the line and see it now, digi or not. Men clearly do not understand the visibility of the very very very faint red line. Confession: my one and only pg test from the dollar store still resides in one of the top drawers (I can't even remember which) of my lingerie chest. It's this tall, 7-8 drawer narrow tower of undies and bras. Ok, maybe there are a few pairs of unglamourous socks and tights in the bottom 2 drawers. Anyway, I never used an OPK, and I only tested once. WtH is wrong with me?! Husband says no to TTC until NEXT summer. I am totally cool with that.

Have to photograph and post pics of A's quilt for you soon. It turned out pretty good, except I still haven't got the binding on it. Whatever, it's only been like 8 months since I started the damn thing.

Love that this thread exists, and love reading it, whether people are getting pregnant or not. It's a nice place to visit. Wishing you all the best of luck.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Must. Resist. P. o. A. S.... 11 days post surge ( still not sure if I officially O'd, never got a peak smiley, just the high.). Didn't get the week long crampy angry uterus feeling, but did have a more textbook day or two of left sided twinges during the surge. The day before yesterday (CD 22?) had some mini cramping and some sensations that can only be described as like scratching in my abdomen. I remember that feeling when I was JBP last time, but most likely reading way into my symptoms. I sure know how to overanalyze a month I said I wasn't going to work too hard on! We managed to BD pretty accurately without trying so anything is possible I guess! Should know more by Friday....

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

split shank - I usually have the textbook "ovulation pains" as well. This cycle I barely had any and almost convinced myself that I didn't ovulate, even though I was temping and my temp jumped. I wasn't sure I believed it! But it worked!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, something about seeing that "Pregnant" makes it official!

SS, good luck! I'm jealous of all of you that seem to get these early signs or symptoms. I think I had fewer pregnancy symptoms the month I actually got my BFP than I had in the 9-10 previous months when I wasn't even pregnant.

Coda, really hoping that it happens quickly for you! I'm not in a huge hurry, and there's a pretty good chance I'll need a little intervention to conceive, so hopefully you and some of you others waiting will get your BFPs first, and then I'll have my turn.

AFM, the OPKs are now coming up blank and I'm not having any more EWCM, so I'm thinking I just might have ovulated super early, possibly around CD9. I'm going to keep using OPKs a few more days to make sure it wasn't a fakeout. But if that was it, this is going to be a super short cycle. I'm not thinking it is good to ovulate that early, so hopefully this is just a fluke and things go back to normal next cycle.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

S_S, I'm the worst POAS enabler, but I'll be patient and not prod you (too much) to test. Still, it sounds like you know your body pretty well and it's encouraging that you're having some JBP symptoms. But I definitely understand not wanting to overanalyze until you test.

MP, it does sound like early ovulation, so I'm glad you tracked it this month (and started early enough). I guess mother nature is just throwing you for a loop. Definitely staying on this thread to see how this pans out...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Quick TMI question, do any of you have watery CM a few days after O? My body is tricking me this cycle because I thought for sure I had ovulated after seeing that dark OPK on Thursday and having EWCM on Wednesday through Friday. But now, which would probably be about 3DPO, I seem to have a bit of watery CM. So now I'm thinking maybe I haven't ovulated, but the OPKs have been coming up completely negative. So who the heck knows. Maybe God is telling me to stop trying to track and control all of this, but I do at least want to know I'm having normal cycles.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

oh gosh- I have so many digits crossed for MP and SS!

Hi, coda! If we don't get a BFP this month I am going to start tracking next month, too. I think my cycles have regulated nicely since coming off BC- the first one was a little wacky, but the next one was textbook- so I would just want confirmation of ovulation to set my mind at ease.

I looked at a calendar this morning- I'm cycle day 11- and this is always right around the time I think, oh man, it's like three more weeks before I'm going to know anything :(( . It just seems sooooo faaar awaaaay. But we do go out of town next week and again over the 4th, so I am counting on that to keep me distracted :rodent:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I just wanted to pop in and join. I was in the Wanting but Waiting thread, but DH said we could try for real this coming month.

I tried to catch up with some of you ladies posting in here. Avia, sorry to hear about the BFN :(

Congrats to those who have conceived, NEL and Bella! And Bella especially after your long journey!

Missy I got caught up on your story. I was very saddened to hear of your loss :(sad . I wish you only the best from now on and a big congratulations on your pregnancy and being able to try again! :)

Good luck MP! This may beTMI or weird, but we O'd the same day. However I am still waiting on AF, so we are no long on the same schedule. Unless we're both pregnant. Then we would have the same due date! LOL

I want to wish luck to Coda too and also to say hi to everyone else I may have missed. I hope to see many BFP's soon!!

All this POAS talk is making me want to test. DH and I used protection during my O time, but we did not the rest of the month, so if I did not track properly or something there is a slim chance....I'm 13 DPO and waiting for AF and I just wish it would hurry up!

I didn't have watery a few days after O, but (and this is probably way TMI) I did have a gross looking glob in the evening the day after O. I thought maybe I was dehydrated or something. I didn't see anything that resembled EWCM the entire cycle, only some watery CM for three days. "They" say every one is different, but I'm a little scared I may have hostile fluid......

I was on HBC for 15 years until last month, so I am new to being in tune with my body. I think AF is coming, I am up 2 pounds and I feel a little bloated. I assume I'm not pregnant though because we did not BD at the time we were supposed to do so.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hey Gem, what method did you use to track your ovulation? If you just got off BC after 15 years, your cycle is probably just regulating, and it may take a few months for you to observe normal CM patterns. I'm actually either on CD12 and waiting to ovulate or I ovulated super early and am 3DPO. Having a weird cycle. Good luck to you when you officially start trying next cycle!

I used Fertility Friend to track and I am taking body temps and checking CM. My temps were spot on with three days of watery CM and the day I think I O'd (same as the day that FF thinks I O'd) I had slight cramping and a tender cervix.
Thanks and good luck to you too. At least you are on top of the BD'ing if you happened to have O'd early! :)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Just wasting sticks over here. I have no willpower. BFN today but expected. AF not due til Friday but at least I'm not spotting like last month for 5 day before AF! Busy week but lurking when I have time! GOod luck ladies!!!! :wavey:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

SS- that two week wait is the worst, isn't it? Hopefully, you will get a BFP soon!

Gem-here's hoping you get a quick BFP when you really start TTC!

Aviastar-if we don't get BFPs, we'll be tracking buddies! But here's hoping we both get BFPs! I'm an analytical person, but I've never tracked ovulation, and it's not something I really want to commit to unless I have to do that. I track my periods on my phone using the iPeriod app, so I always know roundabout when my fertile time is, and truthfully, I hopefully won't have to do more than that. I'm only on CD 5, so I'm a bit behind you. Hopefully the hubby and I can fit in some BD time this weekend during my fertile time, but we're going to be pretty busy all weekend, so this may not be my month.

NEL, I had my hormone levels checked in February during my last yearly gyn visit. The office called me, and said everything was normal, so I'm going to go with that. I'm pretty certain they would have mentioned it if I had low progesterone. Also, my ob (different doctor, since my gyn no longer delivers babies) said that when I get pregnant again, she wants to monitor my hormone levels. So, hopefully I will be able to deliver a healthy baby.

MP-here's hoping you get a BFP!
