I would never have guessed that''s a spinel - totally looks like a padparadscha. That is an awesome stone!!Date: 4/11/2009 3:07:51 PM

Spinel
If it was very expensive or valuable, I wouldn''t recut it. The reason is because it probably has a window and shallow cuts lose the most weight when recut. There are tons of super expensive padparadscha''s with huge windows (take a look at NSC), so I wouldn''t sweat it. The color is the most important thing in this case, and to retain weight.Date: 4/11/2009 7:23:21 PM

Thanks It''s a cool color but a poor cut. Maybe I can have it re cut one of these days.

Gailey, I can''t be 100% positive, but that looks like a Vallejo916 stone. I just ordered a stone from him early last week, and I''m still waiting for it. Ugh!!Date: 4/23/2009 8:23:07 PM

Sure. run a search on this ebay seller vallejo916. his pictures can be pretty bad, but you really do get beautiful stones. I''ve always had the best luck with him on ebay.
