I guess I should add my peachy pinkish salmony stones here. I''ve posted these before but they belong in this thread.

My malaya looking pink and looking peachy ( or apricot ) and my "pad" spinel with it''s big window.

Spinel
I would never have guessed that''s a spinel - totally looks like a padparadscha. That is an awesome stone!!

Thanks :) It''s a cool color but a poor cut. Maybe I can have it re cut one of these days.

Inner Kitten,

Where did you come by that gorgeous spinel?

If it was very expensive or valuable, I wouldn''t recut it. The reason is because it probably has a window and shallow cuts lose the most weight when recut. There are tons of super expensive padparadscha''s with huge windows (take a look at NSC), so I wouldn''t sweat it. The color is the most important thing in this case, and to retain weight.

It wasn''t super expensive because I bought it in 2003 and it was an Ebay buy. I no longer buy stones on Ebay though because so often I''ve been disappointed. I like the color of this one and also wound up with a small really saturated pink stone that I like ( also from Ebay). That was back then the nice pinks were pretty cheap and there were more around.

Thank you!!! I''ll do my best to get photos....we have the new camera sitting here....just need the confidence to take it out of the box and learn how to use it. The cell phone is too blurry and I''ve given up on it.

Care to share the name of the e-bay supplier Arcadian? It looks like a very nice stone.

Gailey, I can''t be 100% positive, but that looks like a Vallejo916 stone. I just ordered a stone from him early last week, and I''m still waiting for it. Ugh!!

Sure. run a search on this ebay seller vallejo916. his pictures can be pretty bad, but you really do get beautiful stones. I''ve always had the best luck with him on ebay.

Hey I was right.

I''ve had good and bad luck with his stones. I wish his pictures were better, but one of my favorite gems is from him - my rubellite.
