The Show your Paraiba or Copper bearing tourmaline thread

Not sure! I'm still on the fence about if I want to buy them. It would be a next month purchase since my monthly bling budget is long gone this month haha.

If the price is right go for it! It glows more and is cleaner than many a paraiba!

Amazing glow @icy_jade ! What a beautiful and luxurious pendant.

What a find @clumberlove . Yvonne has provided such amazing Paraibas to PSers and yours is one of them. You have plenty of time to dream about a setting. Any ideas yet?

Wow @lovedogs : a beautiful cab and very glowy melee. Hope you love these when you see them in real life as the pics look promising. How will you set them if you decide to get these?

Not really, I need inspiration to strike! I'm thinking of doing something with coloured melee, but I haven't figured out what yet. I will ponder while I save up!

I think the cab looks great, it seems like a good match to the faceted melee too.

Although it's not as radioactive as some, here is one of my paraibas set I'm my diamond and platinum antique watch. DK did it, and I love it.20181029_174400.jpg

LOVELY!!!! DK did a great job as always!

Agree with @lovedogs
DK did a great job @Mrs_Strizzle ! Your bracelet is amazing and I looooove it with your Paraiba set in it.

WHY is paraiba tourmaline so expensive???

Just asked a vendor about these, which are perfect! Found out they are $100 each, which sounded great until I realized they are .08 to .1 ct each. EEEEEEK!!!!!

Oh yeah, the pricing is ugly. :confused2:

@lovedogs it looks so big magnified up close!

This is why I always drawn and colour in things to see how big they are in real life! My poor son always gets a shock when I show him the real size of things.

Soon enough I'll be able to add to this thread! I was thrilled to see that @Rfisher was selling her amazing paraiba cab ring, and asked my family/DH about getting it as a combined bday/xmas present (yay, December birthdays!) To my surprise, they said that since I've been talking about paraiba forever that I should get something made for myself instead, especially if I could keep it at a similar price point.

So of course it'll be smaller than RFisher's glorious cab, but will be faceted which is something I've always wanted because of the differences in look and glow between cabs and faceted stones.

Yvonne Raley is designing it :) Using the oval faceted stone below and paraiba/diamond melee.

It'll be in the camilla style, similar to this (except with paraiba/diamond melee, and as a ring instead of pendent)

Here it "my" oval sitting in the camilla ring casting (just for a sense of the stone against white metal). YAY!

Super excited for you @lovedogs .
Beautiful stone and melee. Your ring will be amazing!! Thanks for sharing this update

How exciting @lovedogs . Just the other day you were talking abut how you didn’t think you’d ever own a paraiba and now here you are! I love the Camilla ring and I can’t wait to see you paraiba once it’s all finished. Now that’s a Merry Christmas! :mrgreen2:

Congratulations, @lovedogs, you're going to be very happy with the results! That's one heck of a Christmas/birthday present :-)

Yep. Mine is .19 carats. I have it as an accent stone in a necklace. My husband bought for me and paid $400. I know the vendor well and his prices are good. His Mozambique stones are more reasonable, but still!!

I haven’t posted in eons, but I got a new phone and wanted to see this on the forum. It’s a 1.5 ct Paraiba I bought probably 15 yrs ago.

I hope PS doesn’t still wash out photos in the upload process.
