I think democrats need a candidate with a strong personality, with an outgoing and expressive communication style. Especially given that many if not all, have become desensitized to measured and rational communication with Trump as prez. We get blasted with his crazed and inflated nonsense daily. After a while it is common amongst people, that only the loudest stick out to varying degrees.

I wonder often, if the US is destined to plunge into phychosis and destruction, a dark age, as part of an evolution to rebuild true and meaningful human progress. It has happened before, for it is a dialectic between goodness, inspiration, higher ideals, and primitive impulses, such as greed, self interest regardless of damage to others, Rat eat rat. I hope I will see it in my lifetime. I fear for the children of today, and the burdens which they will inherit and the mess which they will have to clean up. I was lucky to be born into this world during a golden era, without such overwhelming challenges. I fear that our children will not be so lucky.

It's all cyclical, we're reliving the age of the robber barons in many ways. I hope that the pendulum swings the other way soon but we as a society need to stop worshipping at the altar of money/the economy if we are going to be able to address some of our long-term problems.

Hi,

I was in error yesterday by saying that catch and release would be re-instated. Illegals are still being charged with criminal misdemeanors. This has a jail sentence attached from 1 month to 15 months, but has been shortened due to the new overload of the criminal court system.

The administrative asylum courts do not have enough judges to move cases quickly. Trump has said he will not approve more judges, which means the applicants with their children may stay on these Govt bases for yrs. You need good documentation for your asylum request to be approved. I think it is essential to move these cases quickly. Why is it that Trump isn't acknowledging that the refugees make up a larger group than Mexicans?

What is so important about the immigration bill passing at this time?. Just for DACA? What happens to the illegal parents who brought these DACA children here? What happens to the other illegals here.? DACA is only 1.8 million. We seem to be generally agreed there are too many illegals to be sent home. Obama concentrated on sending the criminals home. So we have people knocking on our southern border and those inside the country as well that seem to be in limbo. What are we doing?

Matata-- I really asked the question because I just learned how many refugee immigrants there were. I thought Mexicans were the problem. This fact has actually changed my perspective on things. Who knew? Not me.

I watched the whole thing. It was totally scripted and they just fawned all over him. Yes, I have sympathy for them, but did he EVER offer for the families of all the victims of school shootings to come up on stage with him? Nope. Did he EVER offer to do anything about how easy it is to get a gun in our country? Nope. He is a pig. I have never wanted to kill someone with my bare hands before. All he did was rile up his base so now they will probably go out and kill some Mexicans. God I hate this piece of *&%$.

It probably is honest on the part of the poor people who lost loved ones. It is Trump who is truly evil. He is a liar. A scammer. He is Elmer Gantry. He is a master of showmanship. He set this up. I fear that if they don't run a moderate it will be 4 more years of complete chaos. I hope that the Dems realize that a progressive candidate is not the best strategy. In Texas right now Beto O'Rourke is doing quite well in the polls against Ted Cruz for senate. He is pretty moderate and this is huge in red state Texas. It was shown in the last election that it can't be won on the coasts alone. Praying for a moderate candidate. I am personally hoping Kasich switches and runs.

Kasich is no moderate. He appeared like one compared to the other Republicans. He was known as not only conservative but someone who blew up at the drop of a hat if pre-campaign stories are to believed. Of course he is a saint compared to Trump, but so is Lucifer.

Believe it or not most of the world don't care if the US votes in another conservative, vote in as many as you want, my own mother is a die hard conservative and will be until the day she dies.
