1. He picked it out and popped the question as a 100% surprise to me!!!! He did great and was soooo nervous! It reminds me of that day!

2. We have upgraded the diamond from .15 so it reminds me how far we have come since then, living in a small rented condo and not sure where we were headed.... TOGETHER!!!

3. He has always been very proud of his marriage, the ring and our lives and seeing the ring makes him think of that

4. I was in a dysfunctional relationship prior to DH and never had an ering or wedding ring with diamonds, had never thought I ever would..... so it symbolizes how drastically positive and beautiful my life changed with DH

5. It sparkles a TON and that makes me smile!!!!

Ice Princess! I love your set! Your ering is really close to mine, and your wedding band is the type that I want!!!

And for the people that find this too "mushy", I think that if it''s too mushy for you, well you don''t need to be here then (not to be meant). But why would you take time to make an unnecessary comment? I think that''s just rude! Every one here that has posted or is engaged has a story behind it, and so they are attached the the rings more than just physically, and so that is what we were trying to do here! No body forces anyone to comment on things they don''t agree with! That is totally up to you! I''m going to say what my mom has always said to my siblings and I, "If you don''t have anything nice to say, then don''t say it at all"! But for everyone else that wants to play, FEEL FREE!!!

2. Catching Hubby watching me as I look at/play with my ring.

3. Hubby's constant, "Dang, look at that thing!"

4. Hubby and I chose the rings together. (I have an anniversary ring that I love equally, and the reasons are the same.)

5. And of course, SHAZAM! It blinds me!

The mushiness behind the ring is what makes it so important to me. I''ll be so excited when J and I can share our mushiness with y''all too.

1. He knows me so well. We looked at tons of rings, but he saw this one and said "that''s the one".
2. It''s soooooo shiny.
3. Everyone who sees it says "Oh... my... God..."
4. No one else will have this same ring because it is a one of a kind piece
5. It means I''m getting married!!!

I just got engaged on Wednesday - still getting used to the idea! Kudos to whoever started this thread - love it!

SweetAdeline your ring is stunning!!!!

5 reasons I love my ring:

1. My sweet husband and I picked it out together and he patiently went through a ton of diamonds and rings with me until we found the one we both liked
2. It sparkles, sparkles and sparkles from every angle
3. I have something beautiful to look at no matter where I am and it’s fun to see how it looks in different lighting
4. It''s my wedding ring
5. It’s the “ideal” diamond and ring for me

1. My ring is a 25th anniversary upgrade, and he suggested it himself, with no prompting, hinting, anything from me.

2. It is a custom setting by our favorite jeweler, who also made DH's ring (his was a 17th anniversary upgrade).

3. It has a big, beautiful, clear sparkly diamond, and I love big, beautiful, clear sparkly diamonds.

4. It is a sign of our enduring love and a symbol of how far we have come since we were college students picking out our first 0.18 ct engagement ring.

5. We spent a lot more than I felt we should have. Like someone else here said, I look down and I don't think that it is a cheap bargain. I'm glad he thinks that I'm worth it.

1. My FI and I picked my ring out together and at first he was apprehensive of getting a sapphire as the center stone, but in the end he thinks it is just as stunning as I do.
2. We visited the jeweler probably 4 or 5 times before we decided on this setting, every time we went we both were drawn to this setting, so I really feel that it is something we both love and I love that he wanted me to have it.
3. I love looking at it in all environments and seeing how much the personality of the sapphire changes and how much the diamonds sparkle... every time I look at it I think of my FI and how much we love each other.
4. I love having something that my FI gave to me to symbolize our relationship and that it didn''t break the bank but still looks beautiful (IMO).
5. I love that my ring is unique, I have never seen one quite like it (oval and rounds are a somewhat unique combination) and I love that I have a sapphire center stone because it is also a little non-traditional, just like FI and I. The ring really does suite us and I love that it really does symbolise us

1. That DH turned to me one day and said (when contemplating a 10-year anniversary gift) it would be nice to have a family heirloom to pass down to DD - maybe it''s time to get a diamond? So now when I look at my ring I think of the 2 people I love most in the world.

2. That it''s old. I love imagining who owned it before, what history it has seen, all the good karmic love energy it has absorbed over the past 100 years.
3. That it looks like a kaleidescope.
4. That it spins just enough make that delicious "klink-klink" sound when it touches the eternity band, but not enough to be annoying.
5. That it''s unique and different and one of a kind. Let''s just say people don''t look me in the eye anymore cuz they can''t stop staring at my hand!
