I would think about what you want to do in terms of hair and accessories. Dress 2 pretty much forces you in one direction to get the full effect of the back. I tried on that dress, and I personally thought the dress looked fantastic from the back but pretty much like any other halter dress from the front. I personally preferred to have an eye catching front. Also, for that price, I think you can get more for your money. I do love Amy Michelson dresses though. They really hug your curves the right way. It all comes down to how you feel in the dress though. When I found the right dress, I couldn''t stop smiling at myself in the mirror like an idiot.

#2 more than #1. I bet you could find a sexier gown than #1 that still has the lacy garden feel though!

I voted #2.

Thank you so much for all the input so far! A few notes just based off of some of the responses:

1. The first dress looks so much prettier/better in person than it does in that picture! I feel like that picture doesn''t do it justice at all.

2. Any suggestions of other dresses/designers to look at? The bridal salon is trying to track down an Augusta Jones dress that I love based off of pictures I''ve seen of it, but I have only looked one place so they carry a limited number of designers.

3. I get the feeling that I will never have that "OMG THIS IS THE DRESS" moment, just because I''m not really a big shopper and I don''t know that I''ve ever really had a moment like that. Did anyone else feel like that or do most people have one of those "I''m going to cry--this is it!" moments.

4. My mom''s reaction to the second dress (although she hasn''t seen it on me yet) is that it looks more like a formal evening gown than a wedding gown. Is this a reaction most people would have? Are people going to think "What on EARTH is the bride wearing?!!?!"

Thank you again for all your input--I know it''s hard without seeing the dresses on. I may try going to another bridal salon where hopefully I could take a few pictures!

LP, Trill just posted this pic, and I think this is more what I was thinking of for "garden sexy". Haha! It''s Jim Hjelm. Not sure what your budget is, but anywho, this was my thought.

That''s a lovely dress, Sunny, but I''m really not into the mermaid styles. I think I''m going to try going to a different bridal salon with some other designers and seeing what is out there. Hopefully I will be back with pictures!

Sex in a Garden.

I mean, sexy and sophisticated.

DITTO!!!!!!

I think the fabric is a little evening-dress-y, but if you LOVE it, wear it.

I agree with Sunny, though, surely there is something in between? Some thing lace with that pretty low back that isn''t mermaid. Hmmm I will look around if I get a minute here later.

i like both dresses but i think you can find a sexy and traditional dress that you''ll love even more than these two!

but if i''m voting on just these two, than i vote #2.

When I clicked on this thread I was all ready to vote for traditional and romantic, because I really hate overtly sexy dresses at weddings. But then I saw the pictures. #2 is IN NO WAY inappropriate - it''s just beautiful and elegant! It would look absolutely stunning on you and it''s got my vote

#@, seriously. elegant, unique, sophiticated, sexy...if you can pull that dress off, there is no way you shouldn''t wear it. i love it. love, love, love!

I happen to really like #1 better. #2 doesn''t look bridal to me. I also do not like mermaid dresses - however I have seen some ladies pics on this website that really rock that style! I''d keep shopping a little more. When you find one that you''re comfortable in and feel beautiful (or sexy if that is what you are shooting for) buy it!

Have fun!

SEXY SEXY SEXY!!! You can be sexy in a garden.

I like dress 2, it still fits with the garden theme, and will leave more memories. But I would have to see pics of the dresses on you to say for sure.

Number one kinda bores me.

Number two is a red carpet knock out. I voted for number two. And I do not see one reason why if you love it, you can't have it!

BUT I think if you have time and are still on the fence TRULY because neither feels like it's YOU... wait and check out a ten or 20 more gowns... and try everything on, to see if you can find something that is ALL of you, not just parts of you. BUT if it's just the .... "I should go with a 'real bridal' gown and not rock the boat..." Start rock'n

I kinda think that if you are willing to be as sexypants as you would be in the Amy Michelson, then why the heck not, you know? Turn it out!

To answer your questions, I did not have a "this is it" moment. I really like my dress, but I have never felt strongly emotional toward it. As for other designers you might want to look into, maybe Kitty Chen or Watters for some affordable but sexy garden options. And as for the evening gown/bridal dress--that is up to your style. I think anything in white with a train will feel bridal, but it is up to you how far on the bridal continuum you want to go.

I like this. It''s got sexy garden nymph going for it. Plus it''s organic something or other... anyway it''s very lovely, and organza is perfect garden wedding material

http://blissfw.com/designers/winniecouture/destination/winniecouture_giada.html black looks the same as your Amy gown. Just thought I''d throw it out there.

I am not a fan of either of them. #2 also looks tricky...the kind of material that clings to every curve, including any undesirable ones (either from the body or any undergarments which are not smooth.)
