I vote for the bezel set ACAs....only the best for our Deco...you are worth it! The reason why I wouldn''t go with the asschers is that I imagine they''d (meaning earrings) get dirtier a lot faster, and I also would not be cleaning them as compulsively as I do my ring. Therefore I would want as much bling factor as possible and I think the rounds would do it for me.

This is going to be a treat for you...get EXACTLY what you want and don''t settle. Don''t let price be a factor! I have been thinking of these for quite some time and am turning 35 this year, so I was thinking of treating myself to them too. Do you think WF would give us a discount if we bought at the same time? Is there a PS snark discount? Hehehehehe...........

(I still would mug firegoddess for hers if I could, but dern it if dat woman don''t run awfully fast...)

That preggo woman scares me. And I don't scare easily. Must post now before she finds me and clobbers me to get these earrings. I think she's got superhuman strength during this 9 months or something. And super keen senses of smell and hearing. Must be quick.

I think those asschers are super cute, like I said. Way cute. On a screen. And would look so nice with your ring. But I gotta tell ya, I never take these earrings out - I wear them 24/7 and only take out to clean in the ultrasonic. I am still SUPER impressed however, with how much they sparkle when they are totally fingerprinted and oiled and all that muck. Seriously impressive. So I gotta vote for the rounds over the asschers, much as I hate to do so in this case.

Secondly, which pricepoint. You've gotta decide what you feel like spending. But I will tell you this - when I opened the ACAs I was like, 'holy SH!!!!!!' When I opened my sister's I liked them, but they got nowhere near the same reaction. I know they won't sparkle as well when they're dirty either. But for some people, that's okay in order to pay half the price for them. In my sister's case, it was perfectly fine. She's not jewelry obsessed like I am, and anything bigger than the 0.3 ctw she got would sit in a safety deposit box and never be worn anyway.

If I were you I would get the ACAs/ESs, and get upgradable stones....who knows what the future holds?!?! Or call and see if they are going to go to RSG with these puppies soon. Maybe by the time you'd be ready to purchase???

ETA: Could you find out more in regards to the cut on the blue nile or adiamor stones? All scheiner told me was 'very good' at worst, but it was definitely noticeable to me. Perhaps the other stores have better cuts?

-- It was all so easy until I saw those darn teensy asschers (and saw them ELSEwhere the same size for $1200+ rather than $420)

I''m really not in any hurry ... maybe I''ll wait & see if they make ACA ready-set-bezel-studs. Or wait until the fresh piercings heal & I can try on different sizes & shapes on my actual EARS

I''ve also toyed with the idea of getting custom bezel-set ASSCHER but I just can''t justify so much $$ on one piece of jewelry that I don''t KNOW KNOW KNOW I''d love ... and have such downsides, like the size apperance, need for constant cleaning, lack of step definition in such a small stone. SIGH.

I gotta agree with FG...get upgradable stones. I have been thinking about this, as I said, and I think every year I could throw in a bit of my bonus money and get bigger and bigger until one day, POW! I look like Nicole Ritchie (minus the skinny, blonde thing). Actually there is a limit to how big I can go...which is the size of my ering as I think TGuy would be kinda bummed if my earrings were bigger than that! But still gives me 2 ctw to work up to! Ha!

I just think if you settle, you''ll still "wonder". With the WF ones, I think you''d be happy, especially with the knowledge you can upgrade.

i have a pair of fakey princess earrings & i hate how they always turn about. i like them to be facing the same way - like the rounds always are

also, i''m not sure you''ll see enough of the asscher pattern to fully appreciate it at that size.

I have been meaning to get the DVD set for The Office. I never watch TV but have been told by many it's up my alley....

And, no....personally I couldn't outsparkle my e-ring. All I need is for someone to say "Man, those are bigger than your ring!" in front of TGuy and it'd be over. I'd have to be happy with the two studs in my ears because the stud at home would be *poof!* in a wiffy jiffy. I mean, he's only the equivalent of a H/SI2, but he's quite the fancy cut and would be hard to replace.

However, this doesn't mean that I won't attempt to get *close* to the size of my e-ring. I don't know. Mara once told me that for the amount I spend on certain things, I could get the studs and keep them forever, and yet I can't get myself to spend the money. My "treat" from my bonus this year were private pilates lessons (which are very worth it now that I'm pregnant), and a pair of Rx Maui Jim sunglasses (which could have bought one earring). The practical side of me decided the health of my eyes outweighed my desire for bling.

But it's just SO much less sexy and fun. *sniff*

You *must* get The Office ... asap! We couldn''t even wait for the DVD to come out so DH downloaded all the episodes from Itunes & streamed them into our living room TV somehow! I watch most of it with my hands over my face it is SO UNCOMFY in a GREAT way!! But you have to get past the first 1/2 season before it gets really good (IMO) -- which is why I didn''t get hooked right away & had to catch up. Almost there!

Yeah, I know what you mean about splurges. I''m just (HA) not a jewelry person. And $$s been tight this year with slow freelancing & post-Wedding/Honeymoon recovery. Can I help it it''s my 40th b-day & 1st anny within a month of each other??

I was supposed to get a new puppy for my 40th but instead I got a husband and two extra CATS that came with him ... so I think DH is gonna get Tallulah groomed & give her to me in a box. So I get my "puppy". Just a puppy we already have (& LOVE OOODDLES). This is how crazy/lame/practical?? we are this year. HA!

I will go to Costco and see if they have it. I definitely want to get it. It''s been years since I''ve watched anything good on TV, and I can definitely use some kick-back and zone material.

I''m not a jewelry person either, so I know what you mean. I wear my ring and that''s pretty well it. But the 4-0 and first anniversary are big things and you do deserve a treat. Even if you don''t get it right now, your DH could give you a bit of change to put towards it, even if it isn''t much? Then you''d have something tangible to show you you will be getting those studs. You''ll need to wait til your ears heal anyway from the piercing, so that gives you some time.

LOL on the squares not aligning in the ears. I thought of that first, but figured it was obvious. Thank goodness JCrow has the good sense to say it anyway!

The ears have been pierced! The ears have been pierced!

It happened as the great clock of life struck 4-0, in the establishment of a lass called "Claire", and performed quickly & painlessly by wee gal not yet born when I got my university degree. Instrument of destruction: 3mm titanium bezel set crystalline thing-a-ma-jiggies. So I kinda get to try out "the FG look" as I swab & twirl & disinfect as required thrice daily.

Here''s my plan ... gonna wait out the 6 weeks & then try different "standards" on my floppy dumbos. Bigger bezel set beauties ... asscher studs .... and a new contender: shared prong huggie hoops. And hopefully by the time I figure out which I''d get the MOST use & enjoyment out of, I''ll have saved enough $$ to fill ''dem new HOLES up RIGHT!

p.s. -- TG, I''d take back the digit bet if I were you ... or start wearing protective gloves!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Yippee!! Congrats on your milestone bday, and also on the piercing!!!! YAY!!! That establishment is also where I had my 2nd holes pierced, also by a wee gal who was only a gleam in her father''s eye when I was getting my degree!! Slightly nerve wracking - I had her redraw the ''dot'' about 10 times before I let the festivities commence.

Take a pic of these titanium piercing earrings once those lobes are not the color of cooked lobster anymore. I''d love to see what these look like! (and imagine how they''d look in my 2nd holes).

Twirl and disinfect, lassie! They won''t be sore anymore in less than a week''s time.

Uh Deco...no, I think they were interested in what you had to ask.

Anyway, no contest for me. Bezel stud. Goes with everything. Casual shirt and flip flops. A little black dress. And since I''m sure you will be addicted to piercings now and get 5 more in each ear, they can easily make the transition to second or third hole.

And seriously...what kind of gals do you think WE are? Girls drawn to STUDS or HUGGIES?
