Under 1ct diamonds

Ugh. Someday I''ll have to get the rings professionally cleaned, wear hand lotion, and then immediately try to take some decent photos of my poor rings....

But here''s another try, which shows more what it looks like on my hand.

OFG, I love your set, especially the pic with the thin diamond band. Do you have a thread about them? I did a bit of a search and couldn''t find anything. Are they antique? Any more details greatly appreciated!

Here is a .60 carat old miner H color VS clarity surrounded by 1 carat pave diamonds all VS-SI1. I took the old miner out of an antique setting in which it looked tiny and gave it a bigger look. I love this ring.

Another view of the old miner.

Here is a .60 RB VS with a 14k white gold halo setting with additional .50 carats. This girl is white and pure. Not as guady as I like so I don''t wear her that often. My bad.

I''m really liking this yellow gold I''m seeing here in this thread!

Don''t know anything about this ring yet (except that it was my great-grandmother''s engagement ring), but I''m sure the diamond in it is less than a carat.

Angeline, thanks! I''m sorry I didn''t see your question sooner! I only just looked at this thread again now.

Here is the thread where I got the set. The store where I got them thought they were circa 1950ish, but the appraiser said the diamond seemed newer. (Although they were 2nd hand, and I think they kinda look antique.) He also realized that they are really not a matched-set, although they are close enough. However, normally I wear the e-ring with my original wedding band, partly because it''s the more sentimental one, partly because it looks more substantial on my hand, and partly because it''s eternity, whereas the wedding ring that came with that e-ring always spins and the diamonds go to the wrong side of my hand! But anyway, all the info. should be in the thread I mentioned or those I reference in that thread. Let me know if you have any other questions.

It''s funny you say this Holly. Out of my girls half a dozen or so friends who are engaged or married she is the only one with yellow gold. They all didn''t want boring, common yellow and got white gold or platinum instead. It seems like yellow is now the uncommon choice for my generation...and my girls ring is the one that stands out from her friends because it''s different...of course there may be some bias

Does any one care to share the prices they paid for their under 1 carat rings or is this addressed in another forum. I will probably be looking at an under 1 carat ring and want to get an idea of pricepoints.

There''s a price comparison tool on the front page of PS that may be helpful to you.

There was also a thread recently called, "show me your budget beauties" or something like that. (Maybe "budget beauties.. let''s see ''em" - a search on "budget beauties" should do it). It wouldn''t necessarily give the price of these same <1ct rings, but might help.

An old thread, hope no one minds that I''m resurrecting it since I wanted to share my semi-new (mid January) e-ring.

it keeps twisting about)

I love it but it seems that it''s set a tad too high.

prettikat, it''s BEAUTIFUL!!! More pics, please!!

Beautiful rings ladies, keep ''em coming!

Hi prettikat! You ring is beautiful. I am trying to have made a 2mm band like yours (for a 0.8ct stone) and wanting it to sit low too. We have the same finger size too. I was wondering if you could please endulge me with a few more pics, maybe profile? And if you don''t mind me asking, who made your setting? Thanks - gorgeous ring!!

Thanks :) More pics.

How do you guys take pics! Mine never seem to sparkle and shine. Using an Canon IXUS 55, macro setting, no flash.

prettikat-ering2.JPG

Sorry but no clear profile shot yet.

It's about 8mm from the bottom of the prongs to the top. The bottom is set down on the finger and not on top of the ring - not sure what the exact term is.

It has 6-prongs which I'm told diminishes the size of the rock a tad, but keeps it safe (which I so need!).

prettikat-ering3.jpg

prettikat - I have to disagree about the 6-prongs - your ring looks BIGGER than its carat weight in every picture you posted!!!! Very elegant.

I finally can add my rings to this wonderful thread!!

My e-ring is 0.78 D VS2 princess solitaire in knife-edge 18k WG setting and my wedding ring is 0.3tcw G VS2.

My ring size is 4 1/2.
