Under 1ct diamonds

My .48 H SI1 claddagh ring set in 14K gold paired with a 14K band that I wear sometimes with it to give a wider effect. I wear it as a RHR. The heart is very sparkly. =)

Thanks to everyone on these forums that helped me choose a ring. I received it today and it looks better than I imagined.

.90 Carat Round, I, SI2, Excellent Cut Platinum Solitaire from James Allen. It was only an SI2, but users said that "twinning wisps" were hard to see so I gave it a shot. It looks amazing to the naked eye and it man does it sparkle. It looks considerably better than the I2 rings I looked at in Zales/JB Robinson, etc.

Here are two pictures with my phone and bad lighting. After I pop the question this weekend we can use her DSLR to take better pictures.

Thanks again!
Jay

Hi all!
here is my new stone;
.88 Star129

I was very undecided for a while about how I wanted it set but in the end I went with a classic solitaire that has a gorgeous profile and clean fluid lines!
As I'm still waiting for my ring to be finished I will just post pics of the other settings my stone tried on before finding "the one"

Good day all,

After taking the advice of members here I decided to purchase my engagement from whiteflash. I received a few pics yesterday of the ring and just thought I would post them here for all to see. It is a .73 ct princess cut ACA H VS2 diamond in a whiteflash "W-Prong" setting. I am very pleased with the ring an cannot wait to see it in person.

Thanks again to those who helped me with the purchase.

My BF (now fiance) proposed to me yesterday on my birthday. He proposed with a Ritani 3-Stone ring. It is platinum and has a single row of pave diamonds. The center stone is an heirloom diamond that was given to us by his grandmother. All I know about the stone is it is .98cts, F VVS2. The ring all together is 1.38ctw.

Thats all of the information I have on the stone and the setting. I love it, its a beautiful ring!

I thought I had added mine but I guess I didn't.

The centre stone is .75 cts about 6 mm I think. The total ctw is somewhere around 1.3. With the halo the total measurement is 8 mm.

Your ring is beautiful Kathy, and looks perfect on your hand!

Kathy, that's gorgeous! Would you mind sharing a link to the engagement band? Which one from James Allen is it?

Here's my Tiffany Embrace! I've posted elsewhere, but I don't think I posted it in Under 1ct., so I apologize if you've already seen these! Anyway, the center stone is .81 ct and ring size is 5. I'm still trying to get better photos taken - this weekend hopefully!

Thank you Junebug17 :)

Kindred, I asked James Allen to match a ring from Blue Nile and they said legally they could not do this.

They did however inquire as to what I specifically liked about this design. I explained that I liked the appearance of the band disappearing behind the diamond and also that it was 14kt white gold which isn't a standard option for James Allen by the looks of things.

They said that my requests closely matched a design they had and that they could modify it so that the band would not taper up as steep and therefore not show.
http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/channelset-rings/ring/item_58-3694.asp

I was a little apprehensive because a custom design meant the band would be non-refundable, and it took about a month between payment and arrival, but it really turned out much better than I expected and I am so pleased with the ring.

I hope that answers your question. Sorry, it's just never a short answer with me

Lurker who loves looking at all your shiny bling! E-ring is 0.5ct centre stone, F/G colour. I tried to capture it refracting the light.

It finally arrived!

Here are the specs:

.45cts
J color
6mm
VS quality
size 3.75 ring
18k yellow gold, high polish

While I do love my ring from the design standpoint, I wish the stone they selected had a slightly higher apex. The ones on the site are a little "taller" hence they break up the light into beautiful kaleidoscopic colors. Mine's a touch on the shallow side, so I don't get as intense of a light play. It looks best at the 3/4 angle or from the side. Head on, it looses its personality. I also wish the jeweler polished the band underneath the stone since it shows through. That's nit picking though.

The ring is very comfortable to wear. The band is about 1.5mm and I like the finger coverage. And of course because this is a rose cut it sits low to the finger.

Regarding my purchase transaction, I think it was top notch and very easy. The ring was packaged quite well and Grace was really good about communicating often.

My lil girl. She's only .60 ct (certainly small by PS standards).

I originally set out looking for a bigger rock. I pretty much had it in my mind that a step cut had to be bigger in order to show any "steps" or dimension. I was (happily) proven wrong.

I had tried on several at the same time, all bigger by quite a bit, but kept coming back to this one. I really know what it means now to have one "speak to me"... Her size on paper didn't matter. Her presence made her so much larger than the others.

The setting is 18k white gold, and she's a VS (there's a little metal from the setting showing thru...that's not an inclusion) and a nice white G in color (which I really love). Straight baguettes on the shank. The ring is likely from the 1940's, according to the estate jewelry shop where I bought it. Finger size is 6.

Anyway, I'm smitten in case it's not obvious. I don't think I could be happier. The photos aren't great and I was contorting my finger so looks a little funny, but hoping the photos (and blathering) will help others who are considering emerald cuts in the smaller sizes. (I plan to buy more bands and switch them out. Ones pictured are rose gold and platinum.)
