I''ve been wanting to try out some gems by Vallejo916 on ebay. I figure I can send them back if they don''t turn out like I hope. I won two tonight!

Montana sapphire teal blue green color 5mm .63ct cut by seller.

Chrome green tourmaline 5.84mm .79ct cut by seller.

He says both are untreated.

Here''s to hoping they aren''t duds...

His photos are generally accurate or worst than real life. Good luck and be sure to post pictures!

He told me that .79 ct was his nicest chrome, so I hope it turns out better than you expected!!

Well since both of you have purchased from him before, it helped me to make the decision to do so seeing the stones you''ve gotten from him! What do you think of the little sapphire?

Glad to know what he told you about the chrome, TL. I was wondering if I should have gotten it or a 7mm round pink with peach tourmaline. But I clicked the button on the chrome one. Had you bid on it?

I didn''t bid on it because it''s too small for me. I have big fingers, and while I do have some stones on the smaller side, that is too small for me. I hope it turns out to be beautiful.

As for the sapphire, I really cannot comment on yours since the picture is too small and blurry. I hope it turns out nicely for you.

His pictures may not give a good representation of the stone....but from what others here have said, they are nicer IRL.

I do have an exception to the "nicer IRL" rule from Vallejo. I obtained an aqua from him that was a medium blue cushion in the photo. It turned out much lighter than the photo. Be careful when purchasing very light stones from him. His photos can sometimes look darker than the real thing, but other than that, yes, his photos are pretty much right on or better than IRL. The fact of the matter is that his photos are so extremely bad, it can''t get much worse!! LOL!!

Hahah! That is a good way of putting it TL! I do remember the exception with the Aquamarine that you purchased with the color being lighter IRL.

Yay cinnamon! I''d noticed someone had bid on those stones, and I wondered if it was a PSer. That chrome tempted me, but TL and I must have the same size fingers, because I thought it was a little small for me too.

The stones I''ve gotten from him are much lighter than I''d hoped for, but I didn''t get them through an auction, so I didn''t see any pics beforehand. He''s a really good cutter though, and I kept his stones for that reason alone - the faceting was superb! I can''t wait to see your pics - keep us posted!

They look lovely :) Let us know how you like them!
I too bought a very light aqua from him, but for 30$, it was still a lovely 7mm stone. The faceting was great even if the color was light.

For the price, his stones are a good deal. They''re not all ideal color, or top quality, but not everyone is looking for that. That''s what Palagems is for - LOL!! However, for the price, and since it takes him a long time to precision facet these gems, they''re well priced. That same light cushion aqua I bought from him would be probably four times the price from another vendor.

One of my favorite gems, my 1.1 carat Nigerian Rubellite, is from him, so occasionally, you can get a more vivid colored gem. I''m hoping your chrome turns out to be a more vivid color as well. I have high hopes for that one.

Can someone give me a link to his ebay shop? I''m curious now.

My rubelite from him is also very vibrant but the table is too big for me. TL''s is perfect.

From his latest batch, I bought a pink green tourmaline. It doesn''t look good in the photo but he kept telling me it was so nice and I won''t be disappointed. The photo has no colors.

I was going to pick up the star sapphire but during our negotiations someone bought it.

Thanks Charmy,
BTW, did you ever post a pic of your rubellite?

Oh CharmyPoo, that''s the one you got! I considered the pink green one but figured I''d bought enough so I passed on it. I was looking for it to be relisted but didn''t see it. Please post lots of pictures when you get it.

Sorry to thread jack (please jump over this post except for TL).

Here is a link to the pic - https://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/files/Charmy-Split-HandPic.jpg. I set a BB stone in that setting but the oversized prongs were not fixable by the jeweler. He refunded my money and I need to find someone else. Another photo of the tourmaline - https://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/files/VallejoTourmaline.jpg - it is less pink but more red in real life.

I think we all need gemstone annoymous. I wasn''t finding anything I wanted from the PS vendors and I explored a couple new vendors who were doing some searching for me. While I was waiting, I bought way more stones on eBay than I wanted from a US vendor I found and tried a few other Thai vendors.

Oh those both look just lovely. It seems that all of his stones that appeal to me have already been bought by PSers!

He has some new ones up to choose from.

They look like very pretty colors. I can''t wait to see what you think of them when you get them.

That chrome tourmaline looks pretty good! Good colour, good cutting and I can even see the sparkle.

I am returning these stones to Bob. He is very nice, but the stones did not impress me.

The chrome tourmaline is a pretty color, but the table is too large and I don’t care for it.

The Montana sapphire is grey. It is a great cut, just too blah in color.

Aww, that''s too bad Cinnamon. Sorry to hear it. Please let us know how the returns process goes.

I emailed him that I wanted to return them and he answered very promptly, saying he would refund the stones $ (which I took to mean not the shipping which was only $3 total). I sounds very easy and wasn''t a problem at all.

Sounds very easy to return and the shipping charge is inexpensive.

Oh I''m sorry. That''s a bummer.

Well, I''ve been emailing him since 6/3 to find out if he received my stones back and he has never answered one email. I''m not sure if he got sick, went on vacation, or what. He doesn''t currently have any stones listed for sale, so it does seem he is not currently in functioning mode. However, he did say to send them back and he would refund. So, I''m really not sure if I will hear from him or not.
