Hey, have you gotten your lavender spinel yet? Any pics around here?

I did get the lavender spinel, and it looks... a lot like the the purple spinel that I started a thread on. Actually, it looks almost the same, only prettier and with more sparkle. I may put the 7mm one (from the thread) in a pendant and the prettier 6.7mm one in a ring.

JJdav--Dan and Caren actually sourced them for me. I guess they asked a few of their suppliers to send them parcels of tiny blue sapphire melee--the most vibrant blue they had, and they chose the best ones. Can't say I'm upset with the final product! They did a fantastic job, and the stones are all well cut and super sparkly.

I love Esty, totally agree it's good to support small business, I've been doing just that! I didn't realize he could source stones like that, they're amazing.

Wow! Well good for you that you got the lavender spinel! What does it look like, ie. is it lighter than the purple one that I have in that thread? Did you post any pictures of it-- I'm guessing not because I haven't noticed any.

I haven't taken any pictures of my lavender one, mostly because it looks so similar to the purple one, and partly because I wasn't 100% certain that I was going to keep it, again because it looks so much like the purple one. But as I said earlier, it is prettier... so I'll probably keep it.

I haven't taken any pictures of my lavender one, mostly because it looks so similar to the purple one, and partly because I wasn't 100% certain that I was going to keep it, again because it looks so much like the purple one. But as I said earlier, it is prettier... so I'll probably keep it.

Well I didn't get the one that he had listed--although I inquired about it after it sold.

I started bugging Barry shortly after hearing about yours. I came to the realization that I didn't have any purple of any kind (ok, that's a lie, but really, I don't have a lot of purple) and so I went straight to BB. He said he might have some rough but he'd have to look....

So I waited...

...and waited...

Then he came back and was like, "I have rough you might be interested in, but I think it might be too pink for what you're looking for." I said, "What size will it be?" and he said, "The biggest I can get is probably about 6.5mm" I said, "Bring it on."

So then a few days later he sent me a pic of a round spinel and it was mine. So shortly afterward it was in the mail, and I got it...and looked at it for the first time under a desert setting sun (they tend to be VERY orange) and OMG it looked like a baby pink with a hint of purple.

Luckily I looked the next day in regular daylight and BAM! Lavender.

Unfortunately I haven't posted any pics because I haven't managed to get any good ones of it. It either looks pink or colorless, which is totally not true to life. I guess my camera can't capture purple?

Perhaps I'll start a "Show me your lavender spinels" thread. AJ has one too, so she should be able to jump in!

Oh wow, that sounds beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures. I absolutely love anything that has pink in it. And I do remember AJ's spinel. I coveted it for the longest time
