Not sure if anyone's interested in seeing pics of my wedding, but they're up...

ETA: Your photographer is wonderful too. The photos of your friends and relatives (and the musicians, etc.) are really nice.
 
Well... DH's parents were quite unhappy with the pictures. *I* love them, hubby loves them, but we shared them with his parents and they immediately started complaining that there weren't more candids of family (after they both insisted that we do formal pictures), that there weren't pictures of *everyone* at the wedding, and that there were too many black-and-white photos.

So.. I feel a bit shy that anyone would want to see them since there seem to be problems with them...
 
I''m surprised his family isn''t impressed with the shots. To me it looks like there are quite a few candids, everyone just happens to loook glamorous instead of awkward! (Which is what distinguishes most shots as candid...)
 
I think they were beautiful! Your ceremony looked beautiful, the reception was beautiful. I thought there were alot of ''candid'' pictures.

I love the guide dog picture you posted in the favorite wedding photo thread. He had a little boytie on...what a handsome devil.

I love Zion.. he cracks me up. He''s really a terrible guide dog for Al, but he''s what the foundation had that fit his size and walking speed. He just wants EVERYONE to love him, even when he''s working! Here''s an artsy shot of him going down the aisle... though most people originally thought he was part of a security detail at the wedding

That''s what I was thinking when I saw the first picture of Zion and his human, Al...I was thinking ''wow, she got this really elegant fancy wedding with a security guard and dog'' she must be important!

Then I thought how cool it was that you were including your dog in the ceremony (you couldn''t see the guide dog handle). It wasn''t until a picture in the a group photo or at the reception that it was a guide dog.

Is that your sister in the photo?? You both look alike.
 
Ooh, rachel, your photos are amazing!!! You looked gorgeous, your flowers are stunning, your guests look like they had a great time and your food looks DELISH!!!!! I love them! Congratulations!!!
 
I'm only maybe a 1/4 of the way through, but i have to stop and tell you how FABULOUS your pictures are. I think your ILs are crazy. You have pictures of how things were actually happening... they have a nice "living" quality to them... like you and your guest are going to walk right out of the photo and arent stiffly posed. Great example, #84. Have no clue who they are (family/friend?) but what an amazing shot of them enjoying watching you! You NEVER would have known that was going if it wasnt for that pic. (#362 is another like this! How frickin' cute are THEY!?)

And for every b&w, i feel i have seen the same or a comparable pic in color. I LOVE the b&w.

ETA: #368! #370! I am SO jealous of these shots... i have no clue what my guests were doing... picking their noses?

That's actually my husband's cousin. I WISH I looked like her.. she's so beautiful and petite...

Girls, seriously.. thanks for the lovely positive comments. I''ve been sitting over here wondering if I was at the same event as the in-laws since *I* certainly enjoyed the photos. Maybe they''re just from a different planet...
 
Your pictures are beautiful! The only thing I wish was more prominently featured is your beautiful smile! You have such a lovely smile, Rachel.....it lights up your whole face when you are at ease. I wish they had been able to capture that more in your formal posed photos. Many folks just aren''t comfortable in front of the camera, though.

Here are my favorites....because they look so natural and so reflective of how you must have been feeling:
335, 397, 398, 402, 409, 423, 442, and 453. These really seem to capture the essence of the subjects and the joy of the moments.

All the details looked absolutely lovely! Congratulations.

WOW!!!! I am only a few pages in but I love the pics!!! I don''t know WHAT planet your in laws are from... maybe the "there''s not enough pics of US and OUR family, why are there so many pics of the BRIDE and GROOM" planet or something, but anyway what a gorgeous wedding and you look stunning!!!!

I''m just starting to look at the pics.. They look great so far.. Your dress is SOOOOO pretty! Just perfect for you!

And actually there are a lot more candids/pictures of guests at the wedding than I see in most wedding pictures. Your photographer did a fantastic job.. Don''t know what your in laws are thinking. Are maybe the pictures more of "your" side and not theirs so they are feeling slighted?

I jalso wanted to thank you for making the dummy account for Pictage. I won''t ever look at peoples pictures when they post their links through Pictage. It seems lilke way too much trouble!

The menu! I think that was my husband''s favorite part (I''ll admit that, while it was important to me, too, I REALLY wanted the flowers to be superb

Al.. it''s funny that you mention that I don''t seem as happy in the formal shots. I really wasn''t. We''d planned on no formals, more just candids of us with the guests and party, but the inlaws over-rode us and insisted that we do formals. ''Just a few'' turned into an hour... so I''m standing there wishing that I could eat the hors d''oeuvres we''d so carefully selected and muttering to my husband. I think it''s also part of the reason that the photographer didn''t get more shots of the rest of the people at the reception.

Of the 115 or so people who attended, my parents, sister, two aunts and an uncle attended from my family. Fortunately there''re some pictures of them there, but the rest are mostly my husband''s family and their friends.

Yep, the bridesmaid dresses were shantung.

I tried to have a sense of humor about the whole wedding and mostly succeeded, but my husband was groomzilla to the MAX! He''d get so wrapped up in some detail having to be PERFECT.. I really shouldn''t have laughed at him so much, but I couldn''t help it

Melissa - I HATE pictage with a passion! I had a friend figure out how to rip the images from them as 600x800 pictures, but haven''t gotten the time to put them up on a webpage quite yet.
 
rfath- your in-laws are NUTS! I think the pictures are gorgeous- exactly the kind of pictures that I want for my wedding.

Everything was beautiful though- you especially! who cares about crazy in-laws?

WOW...your pictures look faboulous! I can only imagine the wedding was even better! I don''t think the in-laws realize what beautiful pictures they are...I think you need to show them what bad photography looks like then they will see.
