Hmm...how do I let FI know he should be thinking about getting me a wedding gift? He never actually buys me any of the jewelry I really want (thank goodness he let pick my rings!) and when I send him a wish list for special occasions, he tends to ignore them. I could only hope he would consider getting a card, at least, but I doubt that''s going to happen!

I already got him an engraved watch for his engagement gift, so that''s out.

I considered getting him a beautiful firefighter''s ax with our names and wedding date engraved on it, but I can''t really get that to Maui, so may save that for an anniversary gift.

Happy-I love your ideas! I thought of the slipper thing, but when he was sick last month, he went and bought himself a pair! Argh! I can''t knit, either! (I did get him some new water socks to wear in the ocean...can you think of a saying to go with those???)

I considered getting him an I-Pod Shuffle and loading it up with our wedding cd songs and about 480 more for him to take to the gym. They can be engraved with a few words on the back, but it is so limited, I have no idea what I would put!

He mentioned getting his guys pocket watches, but he rarely wears the one I got him, so I highly doubt a pocket watch would get any use...it would be more of a novelty item, I suppose.

I would love to do something clever about cold feet, time, etc...

Keep the great ideas coming, everyone!

How about something like: To have and to hold (your feet) after taking the big plunge.

That''s a cute idea, split shank! Thanks so much!

Harleigh, I like splitshank''s wording... "To have and to hold (your feet) after taking the plunge"

I was trying to think and am only coming up with something about walking ON water/ IN water.
I can''t get it quite right, "Of course I think you can walk on water..."

MMM, I saw it in a little B&M in San Francisco, but I found one on overstock, here is a link for a 10kt wg and a 14kt wg

thanks! : )

Thanks for the great idea, happy! I''ll keep working on some ideas I can put together!

FI and I are doing wedding gifts... although we''re both already wearing them... totally ridiculous I know, but it just kind of happened that way... I started looking for a pari of studs for her about 3 months ago... figured it would take a few months to find them and I''d use them for a wedding gift... Turns out, they came in on Valentines Day and we had reservations for a nice dinner... I figured WTF, and gave them to her then, and let her know they were the gift, but figured shed love to get another 6 mopntsh of usage outa them. Haha.

As for me, I got a watch... I told her when we first met (in jest), that if she ever wanted to marry me, she needed to start saving for Rolex Submariner for me (my dream watch since i was about 10 and first saw Bond wearing one)... Anyhow, rolex rasied prices March 1 (a lot), and we knew the increase was coming, so she picked it up the end of February when she could actualy find one... Anyhow, I saw her with it at home that night and grabbed it... Used the "if you get to wear yours early, I can wear mine early" line.

So now we both have them on... Although I really think I should suprise her with something else for the wedding... I mean she puts up with me! haa... Thinking a watch or pendant... Unsure which way to go.... Or if any... I need to finish budgeting the honeymoon to Europe, which is getting more and more expensive by the day with the crumbling dollar...

I was about to post my own thread on this...

We haven''t even talked about exchanging gifts, so I wasn''t even thinking about it. He jokingly says he would like a Tag, but the one he likes is 3K (so I know for sure he''s just kidding).

I read a few of you are doing cuff links...that might be a really nice idea (and all I could afford right now).

I am planning on buying a watch for my FI. Question is, what kind...

FI just came home with a Lucien Piccard watch that was on clearance at TJ Maxx. He said other stores had them also, prices vary of course. It actually looks very snazzy. Could be used for dress or casual. Nice watch, nice price.

this is possibly ps inappropriate, but i just can''t help myself. photoshop all the jewelry you really want and your head onto a nudie pic and send it to him. that way the man stupidity won''t make him think, he should get the message!
