& Ive been so quiet and such a lurker lately, heres what I'm wearing today;
-My custom 14k yellow gold bezel set untreated (Zambian) emerald cabochon ring
- A new purchase handmade in 14k yellow gold from fellow NewMexican "Anat Perez". It has a unoiled 3mm Columbian emerald and two little diamonds. I'm so obsessed with it! She sells this ring for $440.00 (rightly so for the emerald) but I was extremely lucky and found it preloved on ebay for $80.00! The little Emmy has great sparkle and clarity.
It was one of the most synchronistic purchases ever as two years prior I saw Anat and her booth in person at our local renaissance fair and I LOVED her work; all hammered yellow gold like lost ancient relics with yummy little gemstones but alas they were out of reach then pricewise but I never forgot about her work and I always wished that I had remembered her name. So having a piece, is amazing let alone one that I would have chosen my self from her shop. (:
Just riding that emerald wave
I already have the spinel. I keep the box in my purse so I can look at it at work from time to time, or if I'm waiting at a Costco gas line. The top picture represents what I see most of the time. Sparkly and bright even indoors at night. The bottom picture shows you the inclusions. I was able to buy this at a reasonable price because of that surface-reaching inclusion. However, because it is not at the girdle, I think/hope the inclusion will not be an issue when setting the spinel. Note that the pictures are the vendor pictures; because I'm lazy, I can only muster the will to grab the camera on the weekends.
I follow that vendor on Etsy, she has really nice spinels!

Are you going to post a dedicated thread for this ring?My recently received (from the bottom of my mother’s safe) emerald and diamond ring. Old fashioned style but the emeralds are a great colour and the setting beautifully executed. I love it.
