What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

The only non fuzzy macro shot I’ve obtained at close range from my new iPhone 15 pro max (I hate the camera). Two demantoids.

This was a very cloudy overcast rainy day, but I managed to get the yellow and blue seafoam blue sparkles. In incandescent and sunlight, you also get red sparkles, but it won’t focus in those lighting conditions! Ugh!. The second shot is fuzzy in order to show what normally happens when I get up close.

I’ve heard people raving about the camera. I haven’t tried it but I absolutely hated the “upgraded” camera from my X to the 13. I always put a loupe up against the lens when I’m trying to take macros- then I have to use a 3rd party app to keep the phone from”fixing” the lighting (something you can’t turn off and blows everything out to garbage )

Omg. Yes!! This camera destroys the lighting. It’s funny you mentioned the loupe, because I ordered a third party macro lens made for iPhones, and I’m sure I’ll have to get an app to fix the lighting issues.

The camera might be fine for regular photos and portraits, but it stinks for macro shots. My husband’s iPhone X could really get macro details that this one cannot.

See this macro shot of one of the above rings with the iPhone X, you can even see luster, which I can’t get with my iPhone 15 pro max.

What app do you use to fix lighting?

The “improvement” it does can be circumvented but you can’t seem to turn it off. If you take a photo and it’s live, you watch the live video and the photo is fine- then when it turns to a still frame it’s all blown out and crummy. If you have a Google photos app the photos will also show up in there and be the raw non improved photos. I use PicsArt also to crop and correct the lighting, a 3rd party app like that will also open the raw/non improved photos too

That stack is delish. Why you wore a gold band? Too much metal, haha!

Thanks, I separated with a gold band so the spinel wouldn’t scratch the emerald,
